  1. Columbia after a few years at Davidson
  2. Some, yes. All, no. Dual meets can probably handle it. Tournaments are the problem. A few years back (5?), a kid from NC was seriously hurt running into the wall because there was no buffer off the mat. This wasn't using college rules but that would have been even worse. Now all this having been said, I think using college ob rules might need to be couple with college edge of mat stalling. Probably helps keep kids momentum from running off.
  3. I agree and it's used at most out of season tournaments. But the reason is simple. A lot of gyms don't have the room off the mat.
  4. 18-2
  5. He might be 50 pounds bigger
  6. Repos, Wilt, Davis
  7. We sent 4 as it was.
  8. This isn't complicated. He was playing football and just now is coming to wrestling.
  9. Right- I was thinking it was school year ending in '82. Midlands are before NYE.
  10. I think BC was more of a transfer eligibility issue.
  11. Yes. He even took an Olympic RS year for that. His father was the national coach.
  12. They tied once. He did lose to Burley. IIRC- it was at Midlands in '82 while redshirting.
  13. They said that in the 90s when they added 215/220. Didn't help and made 2 weaker weight classes.
  14. Hold at second base?
  15. On Track, yes. Not Flo. And I suspect that anyone that did the tournament on Track while bring their own server rather than relying on the cloud server option that most use would have been ok.
  16. I believe he's good friends with Stevenson!
  17. Only if by never you mean before weighins.
  18. oun. red·shirt ˈred-ˌshərt. : a college athlete who is kept out of varsity competition for a year in order to extend eligibility. Redshirt Definition & Meaning - Merriam-Webster
  19. To learn.
  20. And to clarify something- in talking with officials, they are not making any decisions other than asking for assistance from the medical staff. Technically, if the official thinks it IS a concussion- the match is over. Also, as an aside- when I first saw the= signal being demonstrated at an officials meeting pre-season, I asked him why they chose to use the d@#$head signal!
  21. Interesting question. It's up to the school's medical staff to decide if he's ok, I guess.
  22. My favorite line in that is when Tom Ryan says he'd rather send his kid to Michigan camp!
