  1. Wikipedia (I know) says 24 now born in 9/10/1999. He would have been 19 at Fargo. You assumed his oldest possible age for Cadet. Not saying it now all adds up- but makes more sense this way.
  2. And I wasn't trying to be overly facetious. He's not there every day so maybe he goes back and forth some. He still lists TN in his X bio
  3. Unless he's commuting LVWC Wrestling @LVACW · Aug 27, 2022 Please join us in welcoming NCAA champion, 4x All American, and Final X champion, Nahshon Garrett to the LVWC family.
  4. Maybe @TNwrestling edited his post but Nahshon lives in Pa (training at Lehigh RTC)
  5. There is no minimum weight stipulation in college as there is in HS with the exception of 285 which has a minimum of 183.
  6. But his hand wasn't down after he got behind. And since there's no more hand down without reaction time tds there was nothing there. If this had been in the center and with time left there's no way they would have called it that fast.
  7. In the X replies- someone did say the clocks weren't synced all day. I just responded to yours- as I said it was more about Willie's statement though. I think I tuned in right after that. I remember hearing or reading here that he never really had his hand down and as such only one knee. I forget which later bout had a similar situation right at the buzzer.
  8. More to the X poster (@HuskerDu, I guess) but the clock graphic wasn't synced with the real clock.
  9. When the kid walked past Dresser- Dresser made a hands up motion. Of course, that could be Dresser saying it to himself or that he did say it.
  10. There's no UTB in College.
  11. Are we using HS rules in this?
  12. Yes to Hamlin. I tried to get McGonagle called the New Hampster- but that didn't go over too well. Kilrain was from Braintree, Mass- Braintree Catholic before prepping a year at Blair.
  13. They have houses in both Maine and NH. They call NH home and went to school in NH and his club is in NH. Doesn't really change your main (Maine) point but figured I'd clarify.
  14. I haven't seen a ton of matches yet but how many 3 pt nearfalls have we seen?
  15. Not sure but the rule was instituted because OSU was getting most of ALL tds. So since they were doing that before it stands to reason they were getting most of the first tds earlier and this would have cut into the leads they were getting.
  16. Similar to the mid-60s anti-OSU rule of 2 for the first td and 1 for the rest. Didn't last long.
  17. Look him up on YouTube! He was the best drunk out there. Did a lot of Dean Martin Roasts in the 70s.
  18. Waxing nostalgic, are we?
  19. I'm talking about the rulebook. Not the brackets as currently printed. I quoted the rulebook.
  20. I've lost my thesaurus. I can't find the words to describe how upset I am!
  21. It was there as late as 1954. Not in 1955.
  22. So is he-
  23. The reason they did it was because many of the kids weren't even trying for back points. I remember Wisconsin having 50-25 type scores and they kept going for snag singles.
  24. I found that almost every NCAA rulebook since 1928 can be found on the NWHOF site. I wanted to look up something about the history of minimum and/or mandated mat sizes. But I found something about the actual meaning of pin fall! We, today, think of pin and fall as being equivalent terms. That's not how they thought about them years ago. A fall was when the shoulders touched the mat. For it to be a termination of the match, it had to be pinned down. In other words, in a controlled fashion and for a specified length of time (2 seconds early on). From the 1950 book as an example- RULE 15-FALLS AND NEAR FALLS 1. Pin Falls. Pin falls only shall count. (Flying or rolling falls shall not be considered.) Any part of both shoulders held in contact wIth the mat for an appreciable length of time constitutes a fall. (By an "appreciable length of time" is meant the Referee's sIlent count of two seconds. The two-second count shall start only after the Referee is in such position that he knows positively that both of the defensive contestant's shoulders are in contact wIth the mat, after which shoulders must be held in continuous contact wIth the mat for two seconds before a fall shall be awarded.)
