bnwtwg replied to D3 for LU's topic in International Wrestling
If the question is who enters the 2028 OTT or non-oly WTT then I think it is the following: SHOWS UP Lee Vito Brooks Snyder Parris OUT Retherford Green Dake Burroughs (shoes on the mat tomorrow) Taylor (shoes on the mat tomorrow) -

The question was can he, not will he. As of now, yes. But no one knows what the future holds in 3.5 years. -

Taylor won his first world title at 28 and Burroughs won a title at 34. I'd say there is some time left on the clock in the ultimate match against Father Time, though he is more cruel at the light weights. Luckily Vito has the length to grow into 65 for the next quad. -

Messenbrink is on standby to give the Old Yeller treatment if there is a loss in the semis -
You're about 15 years behind. Use Nokogiri on Ruby Rails.

Everyone is talking about how hard the cut is going to be for Sadulaev but no one seems concerned that he might actually gain quite a bit from getting back in tip top shape. It's the Russian Tank for crying out loud! -
The 2023 team was far above average because guys were trying to qualify for olympic trials and/or getting (more) international experience to gear up for trials. This year had much lower expectations because a lot of the heavy hitters have been going nonstop between free and folk from 2021 (beginning attempts to qualify for trials) through April 2024 at the trials themselves. Peaking again is a lot to ask, especially when these guys in particular have done the international stuff throughout their career. Rest assured the 2027 U23 squad will be another banner year.

But does he have triceps?

Which is why Track and FloArena don't work together even though the acquistion was three (!!!) years ago. Absurd product "roadmap."

I'm already stocking up on popcorn for the senior year heel turn. Wouldn't be the first Bo to do it.

Bono voted for Biden and called crypto a scam. It's been Askren's personal mission to destroy him since that fateful afternoon.

Campbell Wrestling is about to cut their program
bnwtwg replied to TNwrestling's topic in College Wrestling
@VakAttack as our resident IANAL how is this possible, especially in the current landscape of all things NCAA, to prohibit a student with an athletic scholarship from competing in said sport? This screams lawsuit from every corner back in the before-times and most certainly now. Is this the hill the Campbell AD wants to die on? -
You know what Messinbrink doesn't have? That dog in him. #justicefornatalie

On one hand, Taylor can live out his fantasy of wrestling a world team member with a no-tech rule and he finally gets his 50 takedowns in 6 minutes, even if it isn't PD3 on a Flo card. On the other hand, Zahid is going to do 49 sprawl -> lace cover -> standups in six minutes and only a fool would believe that isn't his personal record. And he will have to do that every day until Taylor says otherwise. On a third hand, if Brooks can use Vyvanse to focus on his bible study then who is to say Zahid can't use a TUE approved inhaler at the break? Surely the OSU docs will take one look at his tape and prescribe him on the spot. When Cowboy OTC is done he will no longer be Zahid. He will simply be known as the Ram Of The West
-
Back in my day you had to change directions on guts and laces to score more points but you could still go consecutively until tech. I would like to see it come back but with the pace tournaments are currently at bringing review to that scenario would inevitably make things worse.
-
Did you not watch the olympic trials?
-
It's getting there but no. Brooks definitively owns Taylor and Zahid. Snyder owns 97. Varner in the room every day. Some guy named Carl. Cannon fodder includes Kerk, Mirasolas, Nickal, Truax, etc. Oh and there's a lighter world champ named Dake too.
-
They call him finesi_ver because Ghasempour would be forfeiting that L
-
This is a total psyops. Taylor must HATE Valencia. Why do I say that? Because who else would take such sick joy beating the cardio into his opponent. But in all seriousness, everyone has always wondered how Zahid would do if he had a gas tank and this is his shot at growing one.

+1 for the correct usage of little j. Needs to wipe off his chin before he could think of being a Big J Journalist.

Guys, you aren't going to believe this. Micic was just granted ANOTHER year of eligibility! He's going to Illinois. I was skeptical at first but my local AARP rep just confirmed the news. Apparently Poeta was able to seal the deal when he came over the top by promising Serbian scales and Belgrade weigh-in witnesses. I'm excited to see what the combined 567 years of experience can do at NCAAs this year!

Yianni D on colleges recruiting committed athletes
bnwtwg replied to Interviewed_at_Weehawken's topic in College Wrestling
My experience is a quarter century ago so it is absolutely nothing with regards to the current landscape. But I had walk-on offers and I accepted one with a verbal. Then I did a couple things at NHSCA and state and my high school AD sent out stuff on my behalf and *boom* I was getting bonafide offers from D1-D3. Don't think about the blue chip kids and the studs who transfer up, think about the kids who all of a sudden had an awesome offseason or placed/won state unexpectedly. They also may only get one shot to upcycle the rest of their life - who are we to hold that against them for a notion of nobility when social and/or professional nobility may not be gained if they hold course?
