i think it's above my head now 6 foot 7 foot -
This is actually a really good one

Reviews are limited to 2 minutes TOTAL from time of whistle. I don't care if it's the last two seconds of Gable vs Snyder in a tie match. Keep the action moving. Amplitude but it should be rewarded even higher. 6 points. Let the fur fly and make some highlights rather than scrambles. Every competitor must wear a 100% jesus trained shirt or bandana Main event must be a three man cage match between Starocci, Focus, and Bartlett's wife If you met me at the halfway point of my requests it would be great. You can pick whichever two that make you happiest @Husker_Du Additionally, if this is a financial success can you please invest a little back into a more ad-friendly forum experience kthx.

Love a good Biz Nasty sighting. I will never forget what he taught me about leather Cheerios

Did anyone have Beau Bartlett's wife achieving what Gable Steveson has been chasing on their bingo card?
-
This may be anecdotal and recency bias with Askren and now Brooks, but it really seems like pneumonia has been much more widespread and more severe this year across the age spectrum, at least in Illinois.
-
I didn't realize they were bringing back the 118 weight class
-
RBY deserves a spot for his contribution to the sport. He taught us all that a person can win with one arm tied behind their back.
-
Because it's not freestyle and until he proves himself, the Focus is unfortunately the focus of 285 based on real accolades. Just like 197 every year he has competed, the weight has cleared out and is devoid of any major competition. Only one of them has winners' bracket wins leading to a Final X appearance; the other is clinging to a cadet? juniors? world finalist appearance but he sure can ride the piss out of anyone like a donkey with a leaky catheter and his defense is on par with the most cringey sexual assault defense lawyers in Oklahoma.

Maybe Gym Jordan should have spoken up.

But anyways Snyder was so lame that he only beat 3x champ Cox (2x world champ in freestyle), 2x and reigning champ Gwiz (2x world medalist), and 3x AA Coon (reigning senior silver medal). Other than his Olympic run, Steveson only beat Mason Parris who to his credit was only able to get a senior bronze after Steveson stepped away. But nah. The hit list is nowhere near comparable. ESPECIALLY because Steveson, who should be in his prime but chose other endeavors (which I support!!) but isn't, came back to wrestling and lost in the style we are talking about. He. Lost. Was he NCAA? Yes. Did he lose? Yes. Did he have a better NCAA resume? No.

Weight classes exist for a reason, except in the US for an inferior domestic style.
-
I am an old and my Illinois bias will never acknowledge your knowledge!
-
TJ Williams only lost one match, but that's because he didn't wrestle frosh year and that counts. Juergens and Schwab shouldn't make the cut. Look at their historical comps- just not fair and it greatly undermines their talent. Brent "I lost a match every year, and I lost a year" Metcalf does not belong in the conversation. Sorry not sorry.

Wasn't even the best parallel ride staller in his own family if you ask me
-
Burroughs was the best 65 his senior year. I know this because he won a senior world title. Unlike David Taylor who, stop me if you've heard this story before, could only win when a better guy wasn't at his weight anymore. Historical bonus points mean nada.

Snyder was better than Steveson by any number of metrics. More NCAA titles, beat better NCAA competition, won more world an Olympic titles while in college, beat objectively better competing at NCAAs multiple years, paved the way for a low-match/ high previous senior level-accolades Hodge, didn't lose his last match, and I'm sure more that I'm not rattling off memory. That said, Steveson will win their fangirl vote. Thank you for joining my soapbox.

Manning is definitely the type to give a wrestler a real good mother husking. Focus is definitely the type to shuck a double husker right back at him. I give it 1.5 seasons.

As of October 2024 it is three years according to the rule book, but there is the ability to be adjusted [reasons are intentionally undefined]. Below is the full Change of Nationality handbook along with key articles: https://cdn.uww.org/2024-11/change_of_nationality_regulation_eng_oct2024_final.pdf 4.2 A wrestler who has represented one country in any competition under the authority of UWW as defined in article 2, or in Olympic, Continental or Regional games, and who has changed his nationality or acquired a new nationality, may participate in any competition under the authority of UWW to represent his new country provided that at least three (3) years have passed since the wrestler last represented his former country in Continental or World Championships, Ranking Series, Cups, or in Olympic, Continental or Regional Games. This period may be reduced or even cancelled, with the agreement of the National Federations concerned, by the UWW Bureau, which takes into account the circumstances of each case. 4.5 A wrestler who wishes to change his nationality shall send a request in writing, through his national federation, to UWW in the period between the 1st of October to the 20th of December. No change of nationality will be granted by United World Wrestling outside this period. Notwithstanding the conditions listed hereunder, the authorization for the change of nationality will be effective from 1 January of the following year. Article 8 – Participation in competition [this is a VERY IMPORTANT section intended to curtail mercenary transfers] 1. In order to prevent any abuse, for the years 2025 and 2026, a country may only participate in a competition under the authority of UWW, such as Continental or World Championships, with a maximum of two (2) wrestlers who changed their nationality, providing they enter at least the same number of wrestlers who did not change their nationality, per style, per age category and per event. 2. In order to prevent any abuse, for the years 2027 and 2028, a country may only participate in a competition under the authority of UWW, such as Continental or World Championships, with a 2 Or any official equivalent system. In case a National Federation does not have a licensing system, the participation by the athlete in three competitions sanctioned by another NF in the past 5 years shall be considered as equivalent. 7 maximum of two (2) wrestlers who changed their nationality, providing they enter at least two (2) times the number of wrestlers who did not change their nationality, per style, per age category and per event. 3. In order to prevent any abuse, for the year 2029 and following years, a country may only participate in a competition under the authority of UWW, such as Continental or World Championships, or Ranking Series events, with a maximum of one (1) wrestler who changed their nationality, providing they enter at least four (4) times the number of wrestlers who did not change their nationality, per style, per age category and per event. 4. In order to prevent any abuse, for the year 2027 and 2028, a country may only participate in any Olympic qualification event with a maximum of two (2) wrestlers who changed their nationality, per style and considering all Olympic qualification events. 5. In order to prevent any abuse, for the year 2029 and following years, a country may only participate in any Olympic qualification event with a maximum of one (1) wrestler who changed their nationality, per style and considering all Olympic qualification events. 6. In order to prevent any abuse, any federation of origin can only allow a maximum of three (3) males and three (3) female changes of nationality, per year, considering all styles and all age groups.

This has been one of the best offseasons in a very long time. What a time to be alive!
-
Snyder was the third best in his bracket last year, it just didn't shake out. I'll continue betting on him. The only stray that Cap will catch is The Clap
-
Brands (DeSanto, Downey, Focus) and Manning (Focus) have proven that RTCs will take talent over baggage, no way anyone anywhere would take Snyder over Bartlett. btw no way this was actually Bartlett lol cmon folks
-
It's now front page ESPN. That's... not good. T's and P's.

I would have payed so much money to watch Schultz and Ferrari. I mean yeah, Focus would probably have more points in the board but I have a hunch that Schultz would have been extra dirty pounding him like a hooker in Columbus
