  2. What does 97/125KG have to do with 125 pounds NCAA folkstyle? My point was only that Lee was the recent exception, far from the rule. If anything, unless you are a world destroyer then 125 results mean nothing. Even recent 57kg world champ Micic proves this true.. and he ran the THE freakin gauntlet for a much, much more important world title he never earned at NCAAs. 125 is too difficult a weight for the majority of American elites to maintain. That was the essence of my previous message.
  3. 125 is always bonkers and is a ridiculously hard weight to maintain and as pointed out even Lee was no exception. Senior results should always carry much more, well, weight at this weight class considering this is the 106/113/120 of the next level. Don't care, yell at a brick wall, exceptions are not the rules. They bump up or finally make the podium their senior year when the big dogs move up, it is what it is. *I never made the podium so I'm not hating just pointing out the popular observation.
  4. I don't see anyone in this class cutting down to 97 so I suppose that's a moot point eh? Also, you cannot disregard Snyder beating Cox in college when they both were about to earn Olympic medals, Gwiz when he was about to win both of his, and Coon when he had his. And of course Snyder never weighed in more than 229 but arguing about weight classes is semantics when it comes to heavyweight apparently.
  5. I think Pucino has a puncher's chance for that 9th NQ. That's step one. Step two is showing up when it matters most in a couple weeks. Illinois can do this.
  6. Snyder (highest=gold 4x), Gwiz (bronze 2x), Coon (silver 1x) Gable (gold), Parris (bronze), Kerk (none) And the counts matter. Snyder 9 + Gwiz 2 + Coon 1 Gable + Parris + Kerk = two. Total. 12>2. 4 golds>1 gold. If you think otherwise then I hate to break it to you but your math ain't mathin'
  7. There are only two of us on this forum that if a person said back in October "Illinois is going to have 1 Big Ten champion, 2 finalists, and at least 8 qualifiers" that we would have nodded our head and said "Poeta 1, Jombo zero. See ya in March." This one was for him.
  8. Paging Nomad
  9. Ramos because 125 loves to blow up. I also would not be surprised to see a few semi upsets as well: Miller, Ayala, and Buchanan could all get a snakebite. Bartlett is 50/50 tomorrow evening. I think every other #1 is locked in.
  10. As we all know, the treigning lab is by far the far most critical tool towards gaining mofo mass and also kicking ass like a mofo. And that mofo got turnt riding his ways to pinfall town
  11. This is delulu bananas land. Snyder is a beast and will continue racking up world medals. Taz is probably the p4p best wrestler in the world currently. And whoever said NLWC doesn't turn is just plain dumb - Taylor pinned his way through one year for crying out loud.
  12. Terrible news to begin the week that we have lost one of our own. Hope you're having a blast with those Sunday comics in the sky because you will be missed down here.
  13. You say that like Lehigh has other majors
  14. RIP to the greatest freestyle wrestler of all time
  15. Leestyle is better thank Volkstyle this is just the beginning of the revolution. We are pushing out riding time!
  16. I Am An Intermat Nothingknown Wrestle Anti-Lawyer On Whereas Wrestling Tries But Always Lawyers?
  17. It looks more like Snyder assumed he would mule kick back so Snyder held for a knee pop to get the 2, but there was no mule kick and he was stuck with a merkle. I can't imagine he practices that position often so maybe just a mental fry for the half second it took to be taken advantage of?
  18. if it's folkstyle there is a 98% chance i'm just schitposting. I'm very aware of his esquire status, thus the "can't even begin an internet discussion with "IANAL but" and sending a deep cut to people who get their information from facebook rather than educated experts. IANAL = i am not a lawyer.
  19. Not sure I can trust legal advice from someone who can't even begin an internet discussion with "IANAL but". This is the internet and how else can I do my own research to not be a sheeple in the lamestream media.
  20. Hopefully this leads to many years of playing a fun game called Knox or Ferrari!
  21. I guess we have to wait until September for an answer
  22. Lee did not give up weight - they were about a pound apart at weigh-ins and Ono didn't appear sucked down. If anything, Lee was close to match weight. The real question is what does Ono normally weigh and accordingly, has he made any sort of long-term descent down to his 57kg goal or a quick weight cut for last night to get to a catch-weight? I highly doubt that info is going to leak out, simply a fair question to ask. Because if he won 61 while walking around at 59 when the comp was 65+ then yeeeesh!
  23. I would just like to point out that either Haines or KOT will end up "only" being a 2 time champ when it's all said and done. Add in Carr's [offseason] win last night and it speaks volumes of the incoming group manning 70-74-79. For the record, I did have this to say after Haines' outstanding frosh year but I didn't into account jumping 2 weight classes to clash with KOT.
  24. Not to hijack the thread, but with all the additional time now from reviews, fast techs are basically a necessity for tournaments to finish. But that's a different post for a different day.
