Ono - the first time ever that Spencer was overpowered?
bnwtwg replied to Jimmy Cinnabon's topic in College Wrestling
Lee did not give up weight - they were about a pound apart at weigh-ins and Ono didn't appear sucked down. If anything, Lee was close to match weight. The real question is what does Ono normally weigh and accordingly, has he made any sort of long-term descent down to his 57kg goal or a quick weight cut for last night to get to a catch-weight? I highly doubt that info is going to leak out, simply a fair question to ask. Because if he won 61 while walking around at 59 when the comp was 65+ then yeeeesh! -
If You Hate Penn State Do Not Open This Thread

I would just like to point out that either Haines or KOT will end up "only" being a 2 time champ when it's all said and done. Add in Carr's [offseason] win last night and it speaks volumes of the incoming group manning 70-74-79. For the record, I did have this to say after Haines' outstanding frosh year but I didn't into account jumping 2 weight classes to clash with KOT. -
Not to hijack the thread, but with all the additional time now from reviews, fast techs are basically a necessity for tournaments to finish. But that's a different post for a different day.

My heart says Spencer Freakin Lee. My mind says weight classes exist for a reason. My logic says it will either be a very tight tactical match with minimal scoring (likely given their level) or the fur will be flying. No in between. My common sense says there will be at least one outage. I just hope it doesn't occur during the main event.

He is registered at 92 in Tirana. Maybe he is not interested in making the cut until he has to, but one would think that he would want a feel for getting down and competing at 88.

Absolutely nothing fluffy. He earned it. Just saying that there are strong "zomg what happened to the 174 bracket it's so craaaaazy" vibes. For the record, I think Kennedy would AA and would be the better choice - the difference is Kennedy *could* wrestle Friday night on the topside, and Brands definitively wont be there and he also screams bloodround "upset." It's a great problem to have and I'm not envious of the coaching decision, which I absolutely guarantee has nothing to do with family. If you think that then you have no clue whatsoever of TnT. They are winners (except when Carl beats them).

It feels all but confirmed that Brands will get the 174 spot, but I genuinely believe Kennedy would AA this year while Brands peaked a couple years ago and will get clipped. Brands has some really strong "former AA that got knocked off so the bracket blew up" vibes.

Imagine if Slumlord Bob put as much effort into hiring a competent offensive coordinator as he does one year rentals...

Very well said. We should all put aside our differences to come together and send our thoughts and prayers -
Daton Fix is the greatest double boots parallel rider of all time. He was a generational talent when it came to milking the riding time clock.

Ask Imar what happens if you go for a long time with a torn labrum and then come back a couple weeks too early from repair surgery if anyone needs a recent example. He went from seconds from dethroning Burroughs to career is over in a heartbeat. Bum shoulders are to wrestling what torn ACLs were to 80s pro athletes.

Honestly it slipped my mind after the all-star match, which is crazy because any other year and Keck would rightfully be a front-runner the way he is wrecking people. Crappy timing running into the potential only 5 timer who is an absolute beast. The earlier loss probably also knocks him out of the running because it will split votes. Historic win if he beats the grave pisser on Saturday night, but that means they split matches and who knows how that will go if MM and Steveson continue their run.

The only weights with multiple returning champions are 141, 174, and 285. Are you implying that the Hodge winner must come from one of those weights?

Didn't realize Kyle Snyder was bumping up to heavyweight to throw cradles. That's the only Captain America 'round these parts. I think you are referring to Officer Farva -
That plus sign means Iowa is the underdog. It means that OkSt has to win the dual by at least 2 points (commonly read as -1.5) to cover the spread. If you think Iowa will lose by 1, tie, or win the dual then you would pick Iowa +1.5

Double-double stalling. Gable popped into practice and nearly had an aneurysm he was so disgusted with the lack of action. -

They are dead even. They have been wrestling the same wrestle-off match since the practice room opened and it is currently in the 1,459th overtime period. The score is 0-0 because no one has taken a shot yet. -
Will Ghasenmpour go down to 86 for worlds or will he attempt to retain his spot at 92?
