They have a better folk heavyweight in Pitzer. Granted, I would rather have a world teamer but this isn't the international board.

You're the AD: give the bag to a coach or a wrestler? 💰💰💰

Oh gotcha since GOATs that are generationally transcendent seem to grow on trees that's probably where I would put my resources too lol -
According to the college board Micic was 63 years old when he won in 2023

That is extremely false. The OKC Thunder this year, the Celtics last year, and the Spurs dynasty were all built on homegrown talent. Victor Wembenyana (VW) recently had this to say in an interview with Maxime Aubin (MA): MA: You'll be eligible for a lucrative contract extension next summer, worth around $300 million over five years. Do you still plan to stay with the Spurs for the long term, or even spend your entire career there? ** VW: To be honest, I haven't given much thought to this contract extension, or how much it would cost. But, yes, of course. I know it's not everyone's ambition in the NBA, but it's obviously my dream to spend my entire career with one franchise. MA: In recent weeks, several NBA stars have been linked with San Antonio, such as Kevin Durant, who eventually left for Houston, or Giannis Antetokounmpo, still with Milwaukee. Shouldn't we have recruited a player of this caliber? ** VW: No, I don't think so. Breaking up your entire core for a single player rarely works. And the Spurs are masters in the art of building teams without having to go out and get too many big players, or having to sacrifice the balance of the group. Baseball was also won by teams that built from the ground up until the Dodgers adopted the Madoff method of deferring billions of dollars twenty years down the road (and certainly nothing bad will come of that). The NFL regularly demonstrates that you have to build from within through the draft. Carl has proven this method to be the best at the most dominant dynasty in US sport as well. He occasionally takes a mercenary, but for the most part PSU is homegrown and other than Max Dean and maybe Truax, the VORP for the typical PSU transfer is fairly negligible given their insane depth. -
I would consider a top 10 big board to be at least an AA lock 1x. Paddy Gallagher instantly comes to mind. Facundo is TBD. Chittum and Carroll are teetering on the edge. If folkstyle exclusively then Amos, but I don't count world teamers while in college to be "flame outs" I call them "studs with a different priority on a folk team coached by a Bonohead"

We obviously learned nothing from the golden age with JB/Dake/Taylor/Cox/Snyder where they were constantly negatively compared to each other and nitpicked apart rather than appreciated. I don't care who has the best career because we have depth with an emerging new generation. Let's just enjoy having nice things for once.

Vito delaying Final X match against Jax

David Taylor said he will only compete in two tournaments the rest of his career: world champs and the Spanish Grand Prix, and we're all out of paella -

Because you would have to literally kill a world champ before they would just let someone take their spot due to an injury. Big props to Vito and hoping for a full recovery. The cumulative toll on a world champion's body cannot be overstated or understood by anyone on a message board. -

I have always been a huge fan of Hendrickson's technique as I think he is one of the best in the US at any weight, but the best technique does not equal results especially at the global level. I am cautiously optimistic for a medal but would not be surprised to see a quick exit just as easily. I recognize he was not as physically matured as today and lacked a career-altering victory at the time, but Hendrickson could not get by Parris in freestyle (nearly teched him only to get wiped off the mat, and Parris was dismantled by an uninterested Steveson who was only training part-time while still in WWE) and could not get past Kerkvliet domestically until a torn ACL at the NCAA tournament just a few months ago. He was also taken to the brink by Hillger at USA team trials which essentially showed the blueprint from someone who, respectfully, who has no place on the USA ladder until basically every quality heavyweight didn't compete this year (Gable, Parris, Gwiz, Kerk, Cassioppi, Schultz & Coon greco only would win, Bradley, Zillmer moved down to 97 to possibly nab a default spot if Snyder didn't compete, etc.)

Budapest ranking series july 17-20 holy crap
bnwtwg replied to Truzzcat's topic in International Wrestling
Invites are typically ladder-based. I wouldn't look too much into it. The USA/Russia dual that was just announced looks on paper to be exciting, but USA paper tigers do not always fare well against RUS. -
hahahahahahahahahahahah hold on, catching my breath hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha this was so dumb

It's straight out of the pro wrestling/UFC playbook. Definitely a long play but if it brings in viewers and creates growth then so be it. Otherwise the wrestling audience remains net-neutral.

Ex: I bet Forrest still gets a new truck just like Fix did. Recruits are still going to have nice off-campus housing provided to them. Starters will have no-show jobs to provide a paycheck that legally skirts NIL rules. Things will be more contained, but there will still be functions of the wild, wild west.
-
What many are failing to grasp is that there are NIL deals and there are business deals. Business deals are the new bag man - operating in shadows slightly less behind the scenes, the only difference is that 2025's bag man doesn't have to hide cash from the IRS. Business deals are currently less prevalent, but with Deloitte trying to create a de facto salary cap (which is a good thing in theory [and theory only]) then these business deals will grow in volume. It will simply be a more legal but just as murky recruiting environment, with the difference being that transfers can now also enjoy the spoils that previously required a 4-5 year commitment out of high school.
