This is what a lot of people have been waiting for. Trump is showing the way. I was for DeSantis but I don't think he would have done this kind of housecleaning. But whoever follows Trump, probably Vance, will need to continue this as this is a new day for Republicans. I too want things done legally but I don't see where that has been a problem so far. Judge allowed the early retirement plan that Trump put out there. I think most of these other things will be found to be legal and proper. mspart

https://apnews.com/article/fema-migrant-hotels-new-york-musk-immigration-3d250d9f64b40858c0f0eda9989bea6d WASHINGTON (AP) — Four federal employees were fired Tuesday over payments to reimburse New York City for hotel costs for migrants, Department of Homeland Security officials said. The workers are accused of circumventing leadership to make the transactions, which have been standard for years through a program that helps with costs to care for a surge in migration. However, officials did not give details on how the four had violated any policies. On Monday, President Donald Trump’s aide Elon Musk posted on X that his team had discovered payments used to house migrants in “luxury hotels” with money intended for disaster relief. Musk blasted the Federal Emergency Management Agency, which is part of Homeland Security, and called the payments “gross insubordination.” FEMA’s acting administrator, Cameron Hamilton, later said the payments were suspended and the employees who authorized them would be held accountable. The terminated employees were FEMA’s chief financial officer, two program analysts and a grant specialist, a Homeland Security statement said. The bolded statement says that the payments were suspended so they didn't lose the money. If we all remember properly, when FEMA was accused of doing this when NC had their emergency, FEMA vehemently denied that this was happening. Now we see it was happening and that it was a good thing. It woudl be a wonder if this kind of deception is acceptable to anyone on here, but I'm afraid it is. mspart

https://www.thecentersquare.com/national/article_e0f897fc-f137-11ee-811d-5b4aa35ab139.html (The Center Square) – The federal government reported hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars in improper payments last fiscal year and trillions over the last two decades. I thought it would be interesting to have more information about this supposed Medicare and Medicaid payments that went overseas. To citizens? To governments? I'm not sure on this but 2T sounds like an awful lot of money. Ok, I assumed 2T dollars last year. No, it is over the decades. But it looks like 200B+ can be saved immediately. That is a really good dent in the deficit, not enough for RV of course, but Yewj really. mspart

I agree, that's what I mean. mspart

Just because you say so? It's ok for one but not for another. That is the problem with the left. They are not consistent in what they support because of who is doing the wrong. "Oh well you can't compare now, that is out of bounds." Well the person being compared is your guy so of course it is out of bounds. Ah that great protected class - Leftists. mspart

Federal retirement system is back in the 50's

Give Musk and his guys 50 million post inflation and he'll get it done in half the time and under budget. But we can't do that because Musk is not a real government employee and and and and..... mspart -

I saw his stuff in a book we got years ago. I could almost do as good. Just the absolute worst illustrations I have ever seen. No one could convince me these are anything other than substandard artistic work. Reminds me of the ruined painting of Jesus. I thought I'd just put in something different other than politics. mspart

The difference Trip is that the big guy got the money in that case. In this case, the USA gets the benefit. Who is more in it for the country of the two? It is not a true what about ism like you love to spout. It is a very different situation. mspart

Yes, I heard about this yesterday on the radio. This happened at the Seattle NHL teams practice ice where kids were playing. What the heck was a big guy like that dong pushing the 13 year old refs around like that. Both the refs are ok last I heard. Just a sorry display. Hopefully there is strong punishment for this. mspart

https://tribune.com.pk/story/2528129/iron-mountain-limestone-mine-used-for-federal-retirement-paperwork-processinghttps://gazette.com/news/wex/musk-details-sluggish-federal-retirement-process-at-old-pennsylvania-mine/article_40ca27b9-dbdd-5638-9832-32db99b36259.html An old Pennsylvania limestone mine housing all retirement paperwork for government employees is limiting how fast workers can retire. Elon Musk wants to change that. Speaking next to President Donald Trump on Tuesday, Musk explained how the mine only allows 10,000 employees to retire per month because of the slowness of the manual processing of the paperwork. He said he's aiming to fix the process to allow federal workers to retire faster, which would meet DOGE's goal of cutting down the federal workforce. Musk said all retirement paperwork is handwritten and then goes down the mine and into a mineshaft elevator. "The limiting factor is the speed at which the mineshaft elevator can move determines how many people can retire from the federal government, and the elevator breaks down sometimes and nobody can retire," he said. "Doesn't that sound crazy?" I understand that this is part of the jack squat that Elon has done. It is amazing that the federal retirement system is completely analog, it is all on paper. Is there any other outfit in the USA that runs like that? I guess the good news is that you can't hack into it. mspart

He's done a little bit. So maybe 1/4 jack squat. That's better than none. But he has 3 years and 11 months more to get things done. Patience padawan. mspart

They hate him as surely as they hate Elon. Period. mspart -
Unless it reduces our taxes? Leftists want to raise taxes, go ask RV. He wants to tax the heck out of everyone. If they find savings enough to not raise taxes, would that work for you? Granted we are so far in the hole that is a tall order, but if they can find savings and not spend that the taxes sent in will soon equal the budget and then we will have surplus after that and our taxes won't need to be raised anymore. There is enough federal spending that current tax rates will cover future spending. Is it possible to erase the projected deficit this fiscal year? That's 2 Trillion and that would be awesome. Would you complain if they were successful at that? I look at what you have been posting recently and would have to say I think you would complain. But you should answer for yourself. Is there a reason you can think of why they shouldn't reduce spending by 2 trillion? Because if we can't we can't do anything about the deficit but raise taxes. And you won't get that much from all the rich dudes. mspart

Was there a reason to believe he was going to be a future terrorist? Does USAID normally pay tuition for people? If not, why did this guy get tuition? mspart

I don't know who, but the city of Seattle or the State of WA or King County decided it was a good idea to take away lanes on the I-90 floating bridge and put light rail here. It is probably Sound Transit who is a 3 county pseudo government that is not elected that made this decision. They are WAY over budget and WAY behind schedule because someone didn't take into account that a floating bridge moves. They have no sure foundation on which to put their light rail. All for climate change. Never mid that no one rides the lines they have up in other area in puget sound. They allow fentanyl addicts to light up in the trains and they haul those homeless people for free. It is not a safe environment. Such is crazy Seattle Leftism. mspart
