How to think critically about what the media is telling you?
mspart replied to jross's topic in Non Wrestling Topics
Real chummy looking. Neither can stand each other. mspart -
Obviously this is acceptable non violent free speech happening. Nothing to see here. mspart

They cannot make a coherent statement on why their candidate is better or even good except they are not a nazi or hitler like Trump obviously is. The problem is this wreaks of desperation. Even a CNN or NBC guy took a few undecided in PA and asked if this kind of talk was persuasive and none agreed. But that is all they have left. Call the guy a nazi or hitler wannabe and hope it sticks. It is not. mspart

Stop it Rasta, just stop it. You are trying to kill us all with envy!!!! mspart

The blame goes to an actually horrible candidate that the Ds have. She cannot or refuses to answer even the most basic questions. Even Ds are demoralized, hence the nazi and hitler talk. Ds are imploding because they don't have a candidate worth salt. mspart

Smoked a brisket on Friday for a chili cookoff. My wife made the chili and it almost overflowed the huge dutch oven, plus the huge dutch oven was too big for smoker. So we added liquid smoke to the chili as well as the brisket and it was good, just not fantastic like we thought. We took 3rd out of 13 chilis. So it was pretty good still. But the brisket was a piece of work. We ate that last night and it was so good!! I loved it. The smoker just never ceases to amaze me. I have yet to ruin anything in the smoker. It was just awesome. mspart

The brisket I smoked for the chili didn't help the chili as much as I had hoped. BUT, the brisket itself was incredible. Just saying. mspart

2024 UWW Senior World Championships...
mspart replied to D3 for LU's topic in International Wrestling
Taylor has to convince himself that he is the bad draw and then wrestle like that. I can't believe they matched him up to Sad in the first round so I looked it up and sure enough it is there. https://uww.org/event/seniors-world-championships-non-olympic-weight-categories/results Looks like a tough bracket overall. mspart -

That's really weird. I guess they can't endorse Karma-la in good conscience. mspart -
I thought about getting a doctorate in engineering, but decided I didn't want to do research the rest of my life. So I didn't. I did a Master's and did that research and gathered data and it was fun. Then I met my wife. Good decision I say. Married 36 years now. Getting a PHD is a huge effort, WR is correct there. The guy I did my Masters with (he was on another project) later got his Phd and taught in Mississippi at U of M or M ST. I can't remember now. mspart

Apparently, 80% of the electorate want voter ID and citizenship requirements on registering to vote: https://jonathanturley.org/2024/10/25/gallop-80-percent-of-americans-support-voter-id-and-proof-of-citizenship-laws/. This week, I wrote about polls that show the public is not buying the apocalyptic predictions of the imminent death of democracy unless Kamala Harris is elected president. Now, a new poll shatters another main talking point of pundits and the press. Democratic candidates, including Vice President Harris, have denounced voter identification laws as “Jim Crow 2.0” attacks on voters. A majority of voters have long supported these laws. According to a new Gallup poll, that majority is now a supermajority. Despite unrelenting attacks on these laws in the media, eight in ten Americans now support both laws: With less than two weeks to go in the presidential campaign and voting already underway in many states, 76% of U.S. adults favor the concept of early voting. Two other election law policies are supported by even more Americans — requiring photo identification to vote (84%) and providing proof of citizenship when registering to vote for the first time (83%). … Majorities of Americans favor a range of election law policies that expand voters’ access to the ballot box, including early voting, automatic voter registration, and sending absentee ballot applications to all eligible voters. They also broadly support measures to limit fraud and ensure election integrity, including requiring photo identification to vote and providing proof of citizenship when first registering to vote. There are few major political issues today that could show this type of overwhelming support, including from Democrats. Yet, both the Democratic politicians and pundits continue to denounce these laws. Indeed, the campaign against Georgia resulted in their losing the All-Star Game and its economic benefits. Yet, under these laws, Georgia is setting records in the turnout of voters. In the meantime, the Biden Administration is continuing to oppose and legally challenge efforts of states like Virginia to remove alleged non-citizens from their voting rolls. mspart

Who is the best harmonica player in rock music?
mspart replied to mspart's topic in Non Wrestling Topics
Yeah, I like Neil Young's harmonica playing. Is it the best. I don't think so. But it is good. The guy from blues traveler is a monster harmonica player, but it is just too much and isn't much compelling after a 15 seconds or so. Just fast and the same thing. But he is good no doubt. The way he hits single notes is pretty amazing. mspart -
Boy when Axelrod has something bad to say about Karma-la, it must be really bad. mspart

Trump Canceling Interviews Because He’s Exhausted
mspart replied to Saylors_Tiny_Willie's topic in Non Wrestling Topics
Musk totally took it to that tool. The tool got gotcha'd by the guy he wanted to gotcha. Do you notice how much the tool sounded like Karma-la? Gets caught where he doesn't have an answer and pivots to something else. Musk was perfectly respectful the whole time and was enjoying himself. The tool was backpeddalling in an appalling manner. very similar to what we have seen from Karma-la in her softball interviews the last few days. mspart -

Local radio guy really likes the harmonica player for WAR, Lee Oskar. He lives just north of Seattle as an aside. I really like Robert Plant but there are others. I love a good growling harmonica, it is a great addition to the music. mspart -
Interesting: Covid vax is safe. Proved that it did cause harm to many. 6 feet rule for covid. Proved it was just made up. Experts said Hunter laptop was russian disinfo. Proved wrong. Inflation reduction act did not. Proved it accelerated inflation and was really a green bill giving lots of money to green stuff. Yes, there are lots of reasons to trust the politicos, experts, and scientists. mspart

Dems claiming R are nazis is old and tired. It is in their playbook. It's like they call anyone against the3m racist. Old and tired and has zero traction anymore. We have had R Presidents throughout the years, which ones were nazis? Which one took out the Judiciary and Congress? Which one tried to do this? Which one has put their political enemies in jail, prison, or work camps? mspart

Trump is racist because: 1. He funded Black Colleges better than anyone ever did, including Obama. 2. He oversaw an economy that had the lowest Black unemployment rate ever. 3. He is getting historic Black and Hispanic support of any R ever. This when a Black D is running for Pres. Yep, those prove how racist he is. mspart

Your link states: Fourteen states and Washington, D.C., do not allow counting to begin until the polls close: Alabama, Alaska, District of Columbia, Idaho, Illinois, Maine, Minnesota, Mississippi, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont and Washington. WA is an all mail in ballot state. Or drop box. So they could start counting as they come in, but don't. as a result we don't know the results until at least 2 weeks out. mspart

Trump Canceling Interviews Because He’s Exhausted
mspart replied to Saylors_Tiny_Willie's topic in Non Wrestling Topics
Everyone up until the debate was great with Biden (possibly you are an exception). He ran circles around his staff in meetings. he was great in private, you should see him in private - amazing. He has more energy and we can hardly keep up with him. These are the things that were said of him right up and just after the debate. Oh he had a bad debate but that's all it was, he is 100%. He was so bad that it became apparent that they needed to do something and kick him out was it. I figured it would go to CA governor, but was surprised Harris was chosen but not surprised. The reason Biden is not up for election is because he is incoherent and can't keep a train of thought. That came out in the debate. You sound like Kamala when she was asked why joe left the race, the NBC interviewer said it was because of the debate and kamala said you'd have to ask him. Then the interviewer said that's why you are here. And she said, Joe Biden is not running for President. Here is the transcript; https://abc3340.com/news/nation-world/harris-dodges-question-about-biden-exit-claims-she-was-honest-about-mental-acuity-joe-kamala-election-donald-trump-white-house-november-2024-presidential-hallie-jackson-nbc-news Vice President Kamala Harris said Tuesday she has been completely forthcoming about President Joe Biden’s mental acuity, but dodged a question about his decision to exit the presidential race. That comment, made during an appearance on NBC News, touched on the president’s disastrous debate performance against former President Donald Trump in June. Harris said she saw no indications Biden had shown signs of cognitive decline before or after the debate. "Joe Biden is an extremely accomplished, experienced and capable in every way that anyone would want if they're president,” Harris said. “You never saw anything like what happened at the debate night behind closed doors with him?" NBC reporter Hallie Jackson asked. "It was a bad debate,” Harris replied. “People have bad debates." "But that's the reason why you're here and he's not running for the top of the ticket," Jackson countered. "Well, you'd have to ask him if that's the only reason why," Harris said. Harris then appeared to scramble when asked to explain why she became the Democratic nominee in place of Biden. “I'm running for President of the United States,” Harris said. "Joe Biden is not." These kinds of concerns are not the concerns you and others have regarding Trump. You and others don't like him and will say whatever (true, false or fabricated) to drive concern into his candidacy. That is the central issue of hte question you have been avoiding. it was clear last year that Biden was failing and no one admitted it. He was great, what you talkin bout Willis? No one was concerned but those on the right. Everyone should have been concerned like you say you are. Everyone. We don't need a Pres who obviously cannot function in his job. You may say that about Trump but where are your receipts? Kamala had to take a day off yesterday, Trump is doing multiple campaign stops daily. I don't like Trump as a person. I don't like Kamala even more. His handling of policy when president gave us great economic advantage over what Obama called the new normal of lame growth. He showed the lie that was Obama's new direction and he is showing the lie that Biden has directed our country in a positive direction. As pointed out by Bret Baier, 79% of people think the country is headed in the wrong direction. That is not Trumps's fault. mspart -
Trump Canceling Interviews Because He’s Exhausted
mspart replied to Saylors_Tiny_Willie's topic in Non Wrestling Topics
Trump's ot dementia and is hitler and is a nazi and is a rascist and he needs to be locked up, and he's just too exhausted to do any interviews as he does 2-3 rallys a day and goes on shows all the time. The Ds are completely out of ideas so they go to the Hitler and rascist card. It's all they got. mspart
