If true, this is not good. Such welders should be fired and any QA folks that didn't call it out should also be fired if true. This is inexcusable if true. Yet it will be excused for some stupid progressive reason if true. mspart

Trump knows nothing about economics

thank you for quoting me, warts and all!! I may be wrong, but I remember the economy being in much better shape from 2017-2020 than 2021 thru 2024. mspart -
At least one thing they did was not allow a horrific law to go into place that would perpetuate the current border crisis and codify it into law. They stopped other ill conceived bills from moving forward. They passed an immigration bill that would actually reduce illegal immigration. They named new buildings. They brought to light the corruptness of the FBI. Impeached Mayorkis. There's lots of stuff. mspart

How to think critically about what the media is telling you?

WR - Yes, be safe. Where I live in the Seattle area, we only have a volcano (Rainier) and earthquakes to worry about. There are places that get flooded when snow melts too fast along with abundant rainfall . Rarely happens. Good luck riding this storm out. mspart -
Unless the House objects, which is in R hands. This is why split government is the way to go. Bad ideas don't get through. And this was a BAD idea. Codify what has been going on at the border is no solution. mspart

Well, to take it at what you said, someone has to be given the power to make the decision. Who should that be and who gets to decide on that person? It goes round and round. mspart -
Yes this is why the bill did not pass. Would anyone vote FOR a bill like that? It codifies what is already taking place at the border. And general consensus is what is taking place at the border is wrong and needs to be fixed. mspart

WR - Who governs this? Is it a lie when the Federal Government puts it out there? Is it a lie when a think tank puts it out there? Is it a lie when an academic puts it out there? Is it a lie when an individual puts it out there? Who is going to be the one to say this is acceptable and this over here is not acceptable? And this is the problem with constructing such a mechanism. Who is it that makes this determination and what are his/her priorities? Would you have a known liar be that person? Would you have someone known to be a straight shooter be that person? And how do we make sure that type of person is the person with the power to say what is verboten and what is good? Let's think about this with real world things we have lived through. 1) Covid - Those that said having covid was just as good as getting the shot were censored. The fact is that their position is true. So who had the power to censor that truth and call it mis or disinformation? 2) 51 "intelligence" officers wrote a letter saying the Hunter Biden laptop was Russia disinformation. This was held as true by most in the media (excepting the NY Post of course) and all naysayers were censored. The fact is that these 51 people were wrong and knew they were wrong. They spread misinformation that was useful to who? It must have been useful to someone or it would have been called out. Those that called it out were censored. So who had the power to censor the truth and all those that spoke for the truth? You can see that these real world situations should give everyone pause when suggesting that misinformation can be regulated. Sure it can, but who defines what is misinformation and who decides to censor it? You have to be very careful when you pick this person or committee. mspart -
This is quite interesting. 46% of GDP goes to taxes? Revolutions have been spawned for less. I don't pay 46% of my pay in taxes to the feds. Gas tax, sales tax are kind of hidden so it is hard to say. This is really quite interesting and belies the fact that the government wants too much. 50% taxation is practically slavery. It is what colonies pay to their overlords. mspart

The problem is that Reagan, Bush2, Trump, Obama, and Biden all increased spending at a rate faster than revenue grew. And that is the problem. mspart
-
Look, there is a point at which less taxation (and regulations) increases money coming in to the treasury. It is not the case that all tax decreases involve revenue decreases. That has been proven. Maximize that and curb the appetite. mspart
-
You have posters here that also call for way more taxation as a why to reduce the deficits, but absolutely refuses to look at history and know when new money comes in, new spending in the same or more amount occurs. Yes, we should care about the national debt. It is criminal. But we should not be taxed out of our living, the government must reduce spending to more natural levels. The government gets plenty to afford the things they need to do. They just want to do more that is not necessary. mspart

I wonder why the Ds want to distinguish violent crime with other crime. Is it perhaps that crime in general has gone up? I think everyone's experience here would indicate that. But they want to concentrate on violent crime which, as noted above, has not been reported from our most violent cities. In other words, the fix is in. But it doesn't take a genius to figure out that FBI report is bunkus. mspart

There are 3 periods of significant rapid rise. I have those circled. None of them started as low as we are now. I'm guessing man had nothing to do with the earlier instances. mspart
