Federal charges in this area are more likely (though not guaranteed) to be more serious. They often implicate allegations of human trafficking or similar things. My hope is this is more of an allegation of a simple street transaction.3 points

but ... but ... the Trump Presidential library will be gifted to and owned by the Trump family correct?2 points
-
Yes, but there are some charges that can be both. What i was saying, though, is that i hope that this is a state-level offense, i.e. the factual allegations are state level.2 points
-
Yes. He and his family and friends are enriching themselves using their positions in the government by previously unseen amounts, far beyond anything that people have tried to accuse Joe Biden of (and refused to actually try to prove in court) thru things like this jet, the meme coin sell offs (having enriched the Trump familyby some $3 billion since taking office), and market manipulation.2 points

Gradually started before this but the big shift came in the 90's with the rise of Howard Stern and Jerry Springer. It culminated with the Clinton/Lewinsky scandal. Meaning the public was ready to shed the US "morality myth" that made it's last stand in the 80's.2 points

LOL. Right. You posted the post and thought — ‘this won’t make people curious, only those that know facts will see it and will reply. No one will dig in and no one will start posting about the topic.’ I can tell you are a deep thinker.2 points

And then transferring it to his presidential library in 2029. Just unbelievable levels of grift. This is on top of all the meme coin bs.1 point

Big difference between talking about just taxes, and talking about retirees should just move into a condo since they don’t have kids at home. You know what else is real world….my kids and their kids coming over for a weekend or week or whatever to visit. Paying into the social security your whole life, that you “get” when you retire, is also real world. If you’re young and struggling, do more. Or do better. You get what you earn.1 point

I found this study done by the NCAA on sports sponsorship and participation rates: https://ncaaorg.s3.amazonaws.com/research/sportpart/2024RES_SportsSponsorshipParticipationRatesReport.pdf When viewed across all levels, D1 thru D3, wrestling has bounced back from its nadir. The number of teams bottomed out at 217 in 2010. At 275 as of 2024 the total number of teams is 27% higher than 2010. Meanwhile, the average roster size has ballooned from almost 22 in 1982 to over 32 in 2024. All Levels Are Not Equal, Though Total D1 teams has leveled off just below 80. While roster size has grown from 29 just before the worst times, to 35 in 2024. D2 is a Different Story Both the number of schools sponsoring wrestling and average roster size has grown significantly. In fact, at 73 schools sponsoring, 2024 was the highest total in the range. Similarly, average roster size was at an all time high. D3 is Another Success Story There has been a steady increase in sponsorship since 2012. And while not at 1982 D3 levels, there are more D3 schools sponsoring wrestling than either D1 or D2. That has not prevented average roster sizes from growing to all time highs either. Putting the Three Together Thanks to the strength of D2 and D3, overall participation is at its peak in the time period. D3 participation passed D1 in 2013 and has not looked back. D3 now has 35% more participants than D1. And D2 is poised to pass D1 in the next few years. At current rates that should happen in five to six years. Where Do We Rank? Kind of in the middle. Of the 29 sports listed, wrestling had the 11th most schools participating in 1982 and the 12th most now. Wrestling also had the 8th most participants, and has the 10th most now. That's right. Swimming just passed wrestling. Sorry guys. (Let us not speak of Diving). Tennis used to be the bomb, but has stood still and gotten passed by a lot of other sports. At least we are not gymnastics. The Barack Obama Presidential Center, which includes a presidential library, is estimated to cost around $830 million. This includes construction costs ($700 million), exhibit and artifact preparation ($90 million), and the first year of operating costs ($40 million). federal tax dollars contribute to the funding of presidential libraries. While many libraries are initially built and funded through private donations and non-profit foundations, the National Archives (NARA) operates and maintains them, and this requires funding from the government's operating budget, which is financed by taxpayer contributions1 point

Who owns Presidential libraries?1 point

Im just reading between the lines here so I could be wrong ... but ... I think VAK is saying the entire Trump family will "check out" the jet from the library to fly back & forth between the private islands they bought with the trillion dollars of crypto generated during the 4 years and will charge the SS an excessive fee just for the privilege of riding along.1 point

Because property taxes pay for education. I'd rather live in an area that has good schools.1 point

Wait ... did Obama fly United on golf outings and didn't Biden fly AF1 to go be a vegetable on the beach for the weekend?1 point

obviously, i don't think a president should accept a gift from a foreign government. however, i'm not sure that this story is true based on what's out there thus far.1 point

$400 million. Sure. And each trip to one of his golf courses, where he benefits from the costs paid (and charges the Secret Service more than he charges people like, oh hey, look, the Qatari royal family!) https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2025/mar/17/trump-golf-taxes Personally benefits him multiple times the yearly salary he donates. Each trip. No.1 point

all i know is that taxes & insurance is more than the principal in my mortgage. and that a lot of poor people pay to rent - not because they can't afford to buy (they're paying more than the mortgage, obviously) but b/c they don't have the credit. i'd like to see something change.1 point

Curious. Why would you hope it is a state local or federal charge? Taking wrestling politics off the table. As a lawyer….. Wouldn’t you just hope whatever (if true) occurred was just charged appropriately?1 point

Yeah, right dude. So, you come on here, hey I heard something. Then nothing else? And you said something about attention whore? It has nothing to do with Cartoon Characters. What is wrong with saying, I heard a RUMOR. Let me repeat, no facts behind this, just a Rumor. I heard XYZ and it came from that jackass minnow and Paliciao, two idiots that beg for attention. I hope it is not true, but this is what I heard....Do you think coming on here and doing what you did is better than that? It is a F'g wrestling forum. You don't have to START RUMORS, I get wanting to state facts, but if facts were that important, then don't post ANYTHING. MOST people that are in the wrestling community heard this yesterday, just like you did.1 point

I'd like to consider another entry...Dreshaun Ross. He's never going to have the same type of wins as it's just...not the same, there aren't the same numbers for a Jr HWT to come in and beat multiple National Champs at HWT and conversely, he's just not going to have as many elite level Wrestlers all bunched in together, but if he is all in on Wrestling, he would be the guy I'd take. I think he's going to be a more athletic Tommy Rowlands...and perhaps a bit bigger.... if he really focuses on adding good weight. To have a HWT who could be a 4X AA and 2...maybe 3X NC, I might take that over a 157 or 141 who has marginally higher placements just because it seems easier to find guys who can get you points at those weights then at HWT.1 point

LOL...shut up...I woulda but I got caught...and...and the ref made a bad call and I definitely wasn't pinned. "Hilltopper," just...sounded vaguely like a kids tournament!1 point

I think what you are saying makes sense. But these guys aren't considered great because they are doing more than other age level guys. They are doing more than guys 5 years ahead of them. Great college guys like Hamiti and Keckeisen didn't win after 5 years of college. Even if Jax somehow had zero improvement ahead of him he's already doing stuff that NCAA champs 5 years older than him aren't. So take away his HS age advantage, his training advantage, and compare him to 23+ year old men and he still crushed the field. The same is mostly true of Blaze. They have gone to the highest level of American wrestling and held their own or won. They are basically world level already. The same can't be said for any other 18/19/20 year olds in the USA, even after giving a year of college to normalize age and training.1 point

nobody said they aren't special, but my point was the guys who've been in RTCs full time doing sr level training probably aren't going to see a huge jump in performance heading into a college room... The guys who haven't had world class training for their entire high school career might be more likely to jump levels. Could be a dumb hypothesis, and maybe everyone on this list has been afforded that same world class training Jax has had, so it might be a mute point.1 point

I bet there is a recruiting bump from this. Quite literally one of the nicest thing you could do for someone.1 point

I hope we can all agree this is an awesome P4P list and a lot to be excited for. Team USA looking bright for the future1 point

my intention was to figure out if something was true, not perpetuate a rumor, so I said basically nothing. Incidentally I hope its not true because it would add up to nothing but a lot of embarrassment. we're not all cartoon characters on here.1 point

It’s crazy you always know someone with that opposite point of view. It’s almost unbelievable. For every story.1 point

I disagree, Palacio is an absolute attention whore, not some clever, thoughtful person.1 point

Palacio may have an anti-PSU bias, but he's not a dummy and he wouldn't be confused by a year-old story about a guy with a common name, in a different state and with a different biography.1 point
