Has taken first, second, and third in a variety of races. Poor little hussy just wanted to win. mspart

  3. Slava looked good and controlled the entire match for sure. Conversely, Woj looked bad, which may be a product of Slava being some in control, but Abe looked slow and uninvolved much of the time, never set up any shots or worked for anything. Was just sort of out there kind of playing defense.

  8. Anthony Timeline: HS- Freshman year at Allen HS, transferred to Blair as sophomore, kicked out of Blair midseason for pulling a knife on someone, transferred to Bergen Catholic midseason and was somehow eligible right away(got embarrassed by Shayne Van Ness in the Blair dual a few weeks later), transferred back to Allen after the year for his junior year, transferred to Stillwater HS and was kicked out of school there. College-Originally committed to Oklahoma State and spent time in the room with RTC. Kicked out due to reports of him shooting up someone's car. Committed to Iowa the following year and was in Iowa training with the HWC and wrestled at Soldier Salute-contrary to what others said he didn't leave after the Solider Salute tournament but the following spring. Committed to LIU and was on the team and redshirted. Committed to Morgan State to transfer then decommitted a few weeks later. Committed to Campbell and wrestled for year before announcing plans to transfer again. Committed to Morgan State again and then decommitted a few weeks later again. Committed to D2 Newberry and is on the roster but won't be within a few weeks. He was suspended and isn't even on campus anymore right now.

  9. You are intelligent and do not realize when you are stupid. Specifically falling for propoganda without looking for facts. This isn't a big deal. What's silly is calling out others while blind to yourself. You yourself are not perfect and superior enough to call out others on this topic, hence the self-own.

  10. Running out of other people's money. It seems France has. Highest public sector spending in the world yet the riots are due to not enough books and air conditioning in publicly funded places. We are on our way to it. The Ponzi schemes have to end. There is no SUSTAINABLE solution as France clearly shows. California's "one time" wealth tax to pour money down a bottomless pit of systemic spending is foolish. Worse, it is actually destructive. Any tax idea to fund systemic transfers between people is throwing money away. https://reason.com/2026/10/22/france-is-a-warning-to-californias-tax-the-rich-crowd/

  11. Bono isn’t in the hot seat. Wisconsin is trying to right the football ship, and, as long as minor programs don’t have controversy or make demands, the coaches are safe. The Badgers have quite a few academic Big Ten and AA’s each year, which means more than Big 10 champs and AA’s to the administration. Barry always put solid teams on the mat, but, more than anything, Barry wasn’t needy. He took what he was given, didn’t complain and made the most of it while following the rules. I think Bono knows he needs to do the same if he wants job security (but not necessarily “success”).

  13. I'll throw my hat in the ring. Here are my predictions for freestyle this year. For the record I know I'm going to be completely off for 90% of these predictions. But I'm going to let my Iran tinted glasses make the decisions. 57: Gold: Spencer Lee Silver: Tuskaev Bronze: RBY and Khndzrtsyan In all fairness I don't follow this weight class too closely but no Higuchi, Aman or Abdullaev have made this weight class a lot weaker. I feel like Spencer Lee is the most complete wrestler out of the field and if in form is the best guy on the planet. North Korea and Armenia are probably the two guys that can beat him but I think he will get the job done this year. 61: Gold: Uguev Silver: Blaze Bronze: Abdullaev and Abakarov Not much to say here Uguev is one of the most dominant wrestlers of his generation. Blaze is still too inexperienced to hang with him. The rest of the field is good but not as good as the top 2. 65: Gold: Amouzad Silver: Sujeet Bronze: Mamedov and Magomedov Very tough weight class to predict. But I think this is the most likely scenario to unfold. 70: Gold: Akmataliev Silver: Ochir Bronze: Heybatov and Ibragimov This weight class is a lot more stacked than I realised. A lot of really good wrestlers here. But I think Akmataliev wins worlds and Ibragimov goes on a tear before losing by pin to Ochir in the semis who then proceeds to lose a mind numbing match in the final. Khalili probably gets to repechage and drops a close match to one of Ibragimov or Heybatov and gets fifth. 74: Gold: Aoyagi Silver: Yazdani Bronze: Salkazanov and Sheriev No Sidakov and no Zhamalov apparently. Either way Aoyagi I think is the most complete wrestler here. Salkazanov is good but I don't know whether his gas tank will hold up. I'm hoping Amir Mohammad Yazdani has a good tournament since he beat Emami who ran the field at Asian Games. 79: Gold: Nokhodi Silver: Khaniev Bronze: Haines and Gharedaghi I think its Nokhodi's time to finally win a world title. Again 79 like 70 is pretty stacked with good wrestlers. Overall Nokhodi's experience makes him the most well-rounded wrestler here. 86: Gold: Ghasempour Silver: Ramazanov Bronze: Kadiev and Dzhioev Honestly could go either way here. I think Dake loses an early match to Dzhioev or Kadiev who then loses to Ghasempour/Ramazanov. In the final I'm hoping Ghasempour avenges the Paris Olympics loss and wins his third world title. 92: Gold: Hidlay Silver: Amanula Gazdhimagomedov Bronze: Firouzpour and Kurugliev Hidlay is the best guy in this weight class. Not much to say here tbh. Kurugliev being here makes things interesting though. 97: Gold: Snyder Silver: Sadulaev Bronze: Yazdani and Yoshida Very tough one. I don't see Yazdani, Yoshida or Tazhudinov winning worlds its between Snyder or Sadulaev. Either way I think Snyder will get the job done. Snyder looks very ready for worlds this year. 125: Gold: Zare Silver: Sharipov Bronze: Siyar and Kassimbek Zare is the best in the world. Kassimbek will definitely cause him problems though.

Outside is fine but they’re in some random spot with passerby’s and a barbershop quartet…people having side bars like they aren’t even there. I’m all about outdoor venues but that’s not how you do it…

  20. 57kg: Gold: Roman Bravo Young Silver: Valizadeh Bronze: Chong sang Bronze: Tuskaev (Roman has looked great as has Valizadeh Chong songs loss from asians is up at 61. Spencer has not won a meaningful tournament since 2024 trials where you can argue he was just far and away better than the field. I think you can make an argument that he is still that here but it just feels like something always trips him up. Lilledahls recent showing also gives me concerns given he took one from spencer.) 61kg: Gold: Blaze Silver: Uulu Bronze: Uguev Bronze: Haryutunyan (A lot of this is predicated on which side guys are on. I think Uulu can beat uguev and I think Marcus beats Haryutunyan. I am not sure that I currently see a path to Marcus beating Uguev, to me Uguev has more ways to score and can hold center if not control center against Marcus. I would have picked Jax if he was the guy so I am picking Marcus Uulu is my sleeper though that kids crazy and I believe hes 18 or 19.) 65kg: Gold: Amouzad Silver: Mamedov Bronze: Sujeet Bronze: Kudiev (I always like to give myself a buffer by saying I think the weight cut matters for Amouzad. Assuming its ok he is the best guy. Tenabe and Kudiev were the guys I was toying with in the last slot I think both are great and can beat just about anyone. Tairybek zhamashbek uulu is also worth watching out for, he has wrestled Amouzad close has beaten tenabe, bilol sharp uulu who beat blaze last year and Nick lee.) 70kg: Gold: Khalili Silver: Enrie Bronze: Tomiyama Bronze: Heybatov (I have no idea with this weight I want to say it stinks but I think thats just my lean because it lacks guys that I have any confidence in.) 74kg: Gold: Amir Yazdani Silver: Aoyagi Bronze: Sheriev Bronze: Salk (Emami is doing a lot of heavy lifting for Yazdani here. I have been waiting for the Yaz tournament since he got that silver in 2023, key is going to be limiting the damage early against Aoyagi.) 79kg: Gold: Haines Silver: Nohkodi Bronze: Khaniev Bronze: kadik (I just think freestyle is perfect he does not need to finish shots he just needs to get his hands locked and then hes horsing you up and pushing you out. It will be fun to watch and see if Nohkodi can stop levi from getting to his head outside shots.) 86kg: Gold: Natsura okazawa (yeah I did it) Silver: Kadiev Bronze: Ramazonov Bronze: Ghas (Okazawa blew me away at u20's despite not winning it and he earned this spot over returning silver Ishiguro. If he can wrestled for 4 minutes and 30 seconds as long as he does not face Kyle or Dhizoev I think he will be able to fend off everyone else running him down. As to Kyle I think he can win the entire thing but given his age and having lost to Kadiev and Dhizoev its hard for me to see him winning the grind out matches he normally does against this field.) 92kg: Gold: Hoagie Silver: Firouz Bronze: Gahdzimagomedov Bronze: Tckoaev (Trent keeps getting better but I think after getting a feel for him Firouz wrestles a much cleaner match against Gahdzi and then Trent gets a super close match in the finals) 97kg: Gold: Yaz Silver: Saddy cakes Bronze: Taz Bronze: Snyder (gimme in my opinion 2 of the 3 best wrestlers of the 2020's in the finals) 125kg: Gold: Zare Silver: Kassimbek Bronze: sharipov Bronze: Wyatt (I think we see a much better Wyatt, I do not think he can wrestle a clean enough 6 minutes to beat Kassimbek or Zare but I think its a much better showing than last year.) These predictions feel heinous

  23. As to how I think he does, His top game is going to keep him in matches with most guys. I do not see him beating Landon I sort of have Landon in a tier of his own this year I think that kids mentally just built different and is only going to continue to get better. Of all of the performances this summer I think him beating khalili until the last 35 seconds is up there with one of the most impressive (I think Khalili could win gold at seniors). Joy should be in a match with just about anyone else there is a chance Antrell and Kasak move into the Landon tier and are much better than everyone else but I am waiting to see them this year before I make any proclamation about that. (This turned into more of a 157 tiers post and I believe I heard he may be going 165 so it may not be relevant but I think Kannon webster may mess some people up this year, he had an incredible summer at 74kg.)

  31. I'll be the first to say that Brawlnagel is a terribly boring free/folk wrestler. When you combine two defense-first wrestlers you're going to have a bad time. I'm glad you all could enjoy the false hope that he might just pull out the win, I dealt with it for 7 years. Sadulaev was coming off whatever happened to him against Snyder. Sadulaev is notorious for being in shape once a year. I will never bet against him.

  33. I don’t always agree with jross’ takes or approach, although at the core we are probably closer aligned than realize….but he definitely expresses his own thoughts. There’s a difference between linking to reference your thoughts, and doing nothing more than copy and paste all over the place instead of being able to articulate your own thoughts. What I find interesting about the starting of this thread as it relates to here is the vast majority who, and yourself included, only concern themselves and focus on the stupidity on the “other side”, as if it doesn’t exist and/or doesn’t matter the stupidity on “their side”. It’s a cult mentality where most people just accuse other people or the other side of the same shit they or their side are doing….but it’s only visible to them from the other side. So much to the point that calling out your own is seen as sitting on some mythical fence.

  36. In general, it also helps to be pleasant and to not make enemies. If you aren't doing a lot of winning, it is best not to make waves. I can see Beichner as someone who may not have always been a shiny happy person holding hands. Maybe an isolated incident: he called me up one morning, while I was at work, to chew me out about one of my athletes whom he was recruiting. It was off-the-mat stuff caused by the kids less than desirable family situation (that was affecting his Buffalo recruiting) but I was getting chewed out for it. Kid ended up at a different school and all-Americaned, so he overcame his home life, but I was left with a very bad taste in my mouth for that program.

  37. Tom Ryan will stay as long as he wants for many reasons. The program is good…but they’re a markedly better dual team than tournament team. He’s a coach who has won almost 80% of his teams duals over 19 years (will hit 250 wins this season). But more importantly there isn’t a ton of vested interest in wrestling so if you have a coach who consistently has you’re team in the top 10 nationally the administration is NOT going to mess with that. Keep the obscure feather in your hat and keep moving. Also, even a cursory look at the sport will tell them that no one is or has been getting team titles for a decade now. And while we as fans feel we underperform pretty consistently come NCAAs the administration is pretty content with saying just go finish top 4…or come close cause we know this is basically an out of your control. As long as PSU and their coaching tree (Mainly just DT) control the sport there is no reason to put him or any of the blue chip teams coaches on the hot seat really.

  38. Good crop of questions today, let's keep the momentum rolling. How much of a gap do you see between PSU and OK St. or VA Tech? - Wesley I think it is still significant. I think Oklahoma State has the momentum and could trend upward to closing it in the next few years. They have a great staff, the plan looks pretty clear and they seem to have the funding necessary to get there. VTech is also crushing it and should be near the top for a long time. How often should a young leader take a walk in the woods? - Kevin McGuigan One more time than he did yesterday. How much influence did you have in developing the women’s program at Wyoming Seminary? Was Fuller referenced in the early days of the program? - Kevin McGuigan I've spoken pretty extensively about this in the past and I consider the start of the program more important than the two National Titles we won at Sem on the boys side. It was a lengthy process and a lot of collaboration with Terry Steiner to get it going. The guiding principle I used was that programs with a big platform in Men's Wrestling have a RESPONSIBILITY to support Women's wrestling/. I'm glad that it has survived and hope to see it continue to be the standard for prep schools. Any thoughts on modernist literature as well? - Rhino I used to teach a class called the Lost Generation, so I'm a fan. Here are my rankings 1- Joyce 2- Scotty 3- Kafka 4- Eliot/ Pound 5- Hemingway General discussion on kids who are registered for Super 32 and back out of going. Understand that some kids do sustain injuries, but there are also others who no-show that are not injured. Some had bad preseason showings in other tournaments. Some are committed to schools already. Feels like some kids are worried about their stock going down further (e.g., selectively wrestling). From a college wrestling standpoint, especially high school seniors who are committed, are college coaches able to pull scholarships if your results start sliding? Follow-up to question #1 - how do you penalize those that selectively wrestle? Do you start removing them from rankings or moving down in the rankings if they do not compete for a certain period of time?- Matty D My most honest answer is I don't care because I think Super 32 is by far the most overrated event in terms of importance, and I think HS rankings are essentially meaningless. Both are more important to Moms and Dads than they are to kids and college coaches. College coaches go because there are so many kids there and it is cheaper than doing a bunch of home visits, but they aren't pulling scholarships based on Super 32 results alone. The registration process is such that you need to secure your spot early, and a lot can happen between then and the event. I have no issue with kids choosing not to compete and have advised it in the past. It is October. If someone only competes in season, they aren't "selectively wrestling." They are being a normal HS athlete. I guess I don't really think too much about whether that means what number an old dude should put next to their name on the internet. A lot of these kids are 14/15 years old and they need time to train and allow their bodies to grow. Pushing them into competing 13 months a year may be great for the top 2% of kids, but it is harmful for the majority.

  43. The investigation into Omar began with the Biden admin. It has continued until now with the Trump admin. Why is Trump the bad guy but Biden is not? The WA DC area judge would not have signed off on the warrant for her house to be searched unless there was ample evidence of wrong doing. She is an elected official running for re-election and judges are not usually disposed to go after those people right before an election. She is being investigated for coming into the country when she was 18 rather than 17. She is being investigated for marrying her brother. Just recently when asked if she married her brother, she didn't say NO ARE YOU NUTS!!!!! She said, "not to my knowledge". Who says that to such a question? She is being investigated for the fraud that is going on in MN that is Somali lead. Not all fraud in MN is Somali lead, but the fraud that is seems tied to her and that is part of the investigation. Her net worth climbed from nothing to $30 million and oopsie, there was a little error, it is really $100k. So that is also being investigated. Rather than stand up and fight this like someone that has nothing to hide, she hid for 6 days and popped up yesterday to ask for money. She is in no danger of not being elected back to Congress. However she is in danger of being de-naturalized and sent back to Somalia. That is what I understand. mspart

  46. FWIW - while I don't know exactly what they are/aren't testing for. I know the B1G does drug testing randomly at B1G competitions; by which I mean random competitions not randomly at all competitions. Of the B1G championships I was involved in from an event/facility management side of things, two had drug testing. One was a team sport and 3 athletes from each competing team were randomly picked for the piss test. The other was an individual sport (think wrestling, swimming, track, etc) and in that one the winner of each weight/discipline and one other random entrant were drug tested for all weights/disciplines. There were more B1G championships that I oversaw that had no drug testing but every B1G championship I was involved in had a line in the packet that said all competitors may be subject to drug testing.
