Say it aint' so. UN workers working for Hamas and keeping hostages. And now AlJazeera folks working for Hamas? No way, I don't believe it. There is no way this is happening. There is no way that news coming out of Gaza is tainted in any way at all. Hmmmm mspart2 points

I have been to Istanbul and Bogota for work. Istanbul in 1996 or so. There were armed guards at the entrance to malls and historic sites. I can't tell you how violated I felt. Just kidding. I did not feel unsafe or uneasy other than my hope that these folks had proper gun training. I was in Bogota during the cartel time. Bogota was safe but I was told not to leave the city limits. There were armed guards on all the carreterra overpasses and mall entrances. Again, I felt safe, much safer than if they had not been there that's for sure. Red Herring that armed officers of the law create a feeling of unsafety. Totally. When the area is crime ridden, no one is going to have a problem with increased officer presence. The only exception are illegals and people who act illegally. mspart2 points

The long term should be increase police presence, meaning hiring more police to maintain the short term fixes that Trump is supporting. Any Political worth his/her salt would see the short term reduction in violent crime and want that to continue if they want to keep their job. DC sees the change and Bowser has acquiesced. Smart politician. Right now Chicago mayor and IL gov look like idiots. They don't want violent crime reduced? Say what? Violent crime in big cities is primarily against blacks. So black lives do not matter? Say what? This is not going unnoticed. Hence all the folks in Chicago posting videos asking for help to get their neighborhoods safe. It will not be a panacea but the effort will show that the violent and non-violent crime can be reduced by greater police presence on the streets. But Trumps effort will be short term. It will be up to the cities to man up and get their police up to proper numbers. This is a losing position for the D big city leaders and D governors that are saying no to reducing crime. mspart2 points

Why does it bother you wokesters so much when other people are successful in life?? Able to do what they want when they want??2 points

Something like an injury may prevent a wrestler from competing, yet they are still enrolled and making progress towards graduation. All of these guys had this situation. The Ivy League doesn't make it easy to have an injury red shirt (or any red shirt, for that matter). Enrolled == eligibility used. Cornell didn't "let" them get in this situation.2 points

As most high level matches are decided I think its just who can get to their positions better. If Melvin is clearing ties and creating angles it will be hard for Jayden I have not seen a kid quite like Melvin where if you give him an inch he takes a mile, but if Jayden can get to his inside control ties and slow it down a little I think its his match. I also think Jayden may be a bit better on the mat.2 points

You saying that is like a white suburban dude saying he can’t be racist because he has a black friend.2 points

57 - lee 61 - suda as he has momentum 65 - no one repeats at 65, but Kiyooka wrestled Amouzad and Amouzad couldn't really do anything to him. I will take Kiyooka 70 - No clue , maybe Aoyagi 74 - Takahashi - pure hunch 79 - Usmanov - Nokhodi is bound to win this weight at some point as he has been right there these past few years and probably should have won in 2024, but he hasn't wrestled a tournament or even an official match since last years worlds. 86 - Ghasempour 92 - Firouzpour - reasonably confident 97 - Tazudinov - I think he will win and win in style 125 - Zare - the only guy who could actually wrestle him for 6 minutes was Akgul and he is gone. Someone would need to score big points on him very early and put him in a huge points hole( or tech him) to beat him and while it seems he has a match like that once in a while, I don't see it happening in this field.2 points

As the great Walter Williams said: But let me offer you my definition of social justice: I keep what I earn and you keep what you earn. Do you disagree? Well then tell me how much of what I earn belongs to you - and why?1 point

Love the side by side. Brandon Johnson saying in 2022 while campaigning they will solve crime with his plan. Then switching to 2025 saying the shooting will continue lol. Worst mayor in the USA https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8BKYYDu/1 point

So you are actively finding methods to avoid paying taxes? What happened to we don't pay enough taxes? Reducing taxes is good for thee but not for he/she. I get it. It's called hypocrisy. mspart1 point

Agreed, Robideau was able to slow Melvin down and stay positionally sound the entire match and that might be the only person I've seen do that to Melvin. Jayden is on Robideau's level though so maybe he could. That's why this match HAS to happen, would be an awesome WNO matchup.1 point

He struggled a bit with weight and injuries junior year. He stopped cutting as much weight and his performance became much better. He's been inches away from a win over Rath on multiple occasions that would probably bump him up into that next tier where you'd be completely sold. Very fair to say you'd want to see a more high level win or two, though he has been dominant against guys like Shaw and Perentin.1 point

Genuine question. When presidents call up state national guard. They federalize them no? Meaning it wouldn’t matter hypothetically which state they used other than do they have the troop head count they need? i guess troop type too. All medic Hamas supporting anti American rock people troops may be a bad pick … even thought they think fabricated 3 years of service + rock studying makes them an expert in law enforcement1 point

I think stellar has quickly become a top 2 club in PA and I don't think it will be long before it is the best one. Gaj has always been a tough guy for me to figure out. He made enormous strides from 9-10 seemed to level out a bit his junior year (could have been just adjusting to the weight) and then again going into his senior year he seemed to make strides. He just is missing a few of those highest level wins for me to be super sold on him but from a wrestling style perspective I think he has all the tools.1 point

I hope so...he is still a little behind Coon and Schultz...but he is making gains. It seems we always have a few guys who win world medals and even world titles and younger ages, but we can never get them on the podium later.1 point

Love it. Greta angers the wingers so much. They can't stand it when a young woman is so lmuch more brilliant than they are and accomplishes so much at such a young age. I think she's great. Strong-willed, smart and has tremendous purpose in her life. That's what life is about!! Let the resentment and envy flow!!!1 point

It's not really about being grad vs undergrad. It's about only using 8 semesters in school.1 point

Except that Coach Grey has answered all the questions (look for the Cornell article on Flo) about why these guys are sitting out. Ivy League prohibits grad students from competing, requires enrolled students to make progress towards graduation, and counts enrollment towards eligibility limits. A number of presumed starters (Diakomihalis, Saunders, Ungar, maybe Cornella) have to not be enrolled this semester to meet these requirements, which is in keeping with prior actions going back at least to Dylan Palacio. Shapiro is limiting his competitions to protect his health (not clear, and not important if he is enrolled or not). I would speculate that Cornella is sitting out this semester, and will sit out first semester in 2026 as well, in order to have two more competitive seasons available: second semester 2026 and second semester 2027.1 point

He’s still a raw talent , didn’t wrestle all over the country in high school, went to a small public school then goes to rider and slowly rises to the level of that room and now I think he ll do the same at ISU especially with better quality practice partners ..I wouldn’t be surprised to see him make a huge jump1 point
-
Greg D , Brett ungar , Vince cornella and Ethan Fernandez ( Cornell starting 125-149) all have to sit out first semester this year bc they are grad students … also Shapiro will be on a pitch count all year to preserve his body for march and Mikey Dellagatta will miss the year with injury1 point
