  1. Who is Jimmy Cinnabon, I hear you say, A whisper in the air, a name at play. Is he a myth, a man, a fleeting guise? A swirl of questions, like Iowa skies. Does he rise at dawn, at a Michigan lake, Folding stories in the dough he makes? Perhaps he crafts sweetness, a life in a bun, With sugar and spice spun under the sun. Or is he a wanderer, bound to no place, A poet, a dreamer, lost in the chase? Carving his hawkeye like a pastry's swirl, Through the chaos of life, through the endless whirl. Is he a rebel, a fighter, a wolverine? A light in the shadows, a flame in the dark? Or maybe he's quiet, a soft-spoken muse, An welcher of flavor, with magic to use. We wonder, we question, we guess who he cheers, Yet Jimmy remains an enigma to see. For perhaps he's not one, but all we aspire, A name that ignites our hidden desire. So who is Jimmy Cinnabon? Do you know? A keeper of bets, a shadowy glow. Or maybe he’s none of these—just a name, A sweet little mystery, delightfully plain.

  2. Because a lot of the time they are volunteering their time and are doing their best. People who bash new broadcasters learning the sport are the same people who gatekeep wrestling from new fans whenever they get the chance.

  3. The only people saying Lee was going to hang it up are haters. Only a person as tough as, well, Spencer Lee could bounce back from everything he has been through physically and emotionally. Dude is tougher than hell and I don't care what any results are and how many ACLs he tears, I'm picking him to win 2025 worlds. He's going to be a DAWG next September.

  5. Completely agree. Askren has talked about this a lot. The lesser wrestler wants to keep the exchanges as few as possible. I made the statement after the VT dual, and a lot of people still said it was too early to give much credit to the new coaching staff for their performance, but every dual you see guys hunting for bonus, looking to separate themselves from their opponent. I'd like to see more pace from Spratley, and I think in his 6th year, you just have to accept Amine for what he is. OKST is a lot of fun to watch this season, and I think the mindset of scoring points rather than just doing enough to win is going to make a difference in March. But, of course, we'll see.

  9. Well and Wyatt wasn't the original 33 seed. He didn't qualify. Someone was injured and pulled out and he was next man up. So more like #34.

  10. I think while it may be tempting to laugh at their expense, for a sport that is dying in numbers, we would be better served to be more inclusive to those that are trying to learn the sport.

  14. Feed went out during Burroughs loss. At risk of being a Flo apologist, people who were in the arena said there was no internet service whatsoever during that time period. I'm sure people would be a bit more forgiving and understanding if that were an isolated incident.

  16. Pond scum minnow went out of his way to break Lee vs Ono match but didn't say anything about Zahid vs Brooks. Granted, Lee is the better wrestler and bigger draw...

  17. I don't care who is in power in the US. I have been anti-CCP data collection from the start and will continue to do so. Let Tik Tok users practice free speech, but without CCP involvement.

  19. Zahid Valencia v. Aaron Brooks as well! More matches to be announced Ono and Spencer will be at a catch weight between 57 and 61kg. Zahid and Brooks will be at 92.

  21. I could see it happening. Look at senior year RBY. We all thought he would be unstoppable coming into the season but he wrestled selectively, didn't seem to take the season seriously, then got worked by Vito at NCAAs. I'm not convinced that college wrestling is a challenge or even interesting for Steveson. If he's just going through the motions and his heart isn't totally into it, anything could happen.

  23. It would be a bummer, but what do you suggest? Rokfin? That platform is a joke. ESPN would be nice but I don't think they can be bothered. For what it's worth, I don't recall the last Flo event I watched that had issues. They deserve criticism when events go bad but my experiences have been all positive for some time now

  24. Stewart had the "got it done in march" thing, so you'd think he'd be a near lock, but my god how badly can you wrestle.

  25. There's a lot that's up in the air right now for NCAA athletics as a whole. Until the settlement is finalized (scheduled for April 2025), I don't think you're going to see a lot of big programs making aggressive moves, unless they have a serious outside benefactor that can effect change (like in Stillwater). P5 Athletics budgets are about to be upended. If/once it's clear that D1 wrestling is going to continue in something close to its current format, you could see Bono get shown the door. Until then I wouldn't expect a single extra dollar to be spent on the program that they don't raise themselves.

  30. I dont think Nic would do well at 141 and ben seems small for 141. Nics style is so open and he really utilizes his power and explosiveness I think trying that same style at 141 would be a recipe for disaster, it sometimes is at 141. Vince nics younger brother flipped to Pitt so I wonder if Nic may join him there next year.

  37. NC State is not a dry program. They used to be & at one time they kicked 10 people off the team for testing positive for weed(3 years ago- including some big named wrestlers). Some of the starters(& non starters) continuously test positive for weed but they look the other way now.

  38. I think that had more to do with questioning his toughness rather than stating the wear and tear from his injuries was causing a huge drop in productivity later in his matches

  39. Nicka'sl biggest win in his life was over Myles Martin. Martin was his biggest loss (2x). Bo never made a senior world team as the #1 guy. That is all we need to know. But, yeah.....the best 86 kg in the world?

  43. Sorry Mr. Durden, you said "ceiling" not his ceiling for this year. If you're talking about this year alone, sure there are 3 absolute monsters in Gable, Kerk, and Wyatt that would limit many, many, of the 285 NCAA champs from the past to mid-AA ceilings. This is by far the most talented top 3 at heavyweight that I can recall over the last 15 or so years.

  44. I didn’t get the impression from the post below that you were only referring to his “ceiling” this year, but may have misunderstood. Although I’m not totally sure what “some some mid-to-low AA ceiling” means, that’s probably a typo my elderly mother would make, I was figuring you meant “same.”

  50. I think a rule to avoid alcohol during the season is reasonable. A year long rule would make liars and cheats out of most of the team, so counter productive.
