I am biased toward: 1. Bravery and courage, regardless of result. think of Rivera at Northwestern bumping up to 133 to face number 1 Stephan Micic. He lost the match, but won a fan. 2. Those who don't take a redshirt 3. Underdogs 4. Guys who were recruited over 5. Aggressive wrestling style with high attack rate 6. High stamina - never gasses6 points

Sure, I'll play. I'm kind of disgusted at Iowa/Brands by seeing Iowa guys who dedicated their careers to the Hawks, like Glazier and Kennedy, get run out of town for the short-term benefit of one-year-wonders like Buchanon and Teemer. I'm all for competition, but isn't there a point at which a coach should be like, "Hey thanks but we have our guy?" I can't decide if I'm being fair in my disgust or if I just don't like Iowa. I'm fine with transfers, but usually when we see it, the guy getting displaced has another weight he can go, or can use a redshirt, or will just lose a year, or wasn't any good. Or the guy coming in has a ton of eligibility, so it's more like a new recruit than a hired guy. Until now the worst example was probably Beard/Dean, but even that didn't annoy me as much, because Beard was just a freshman while Glazier/Kennedy invested their whole career, only to get shown the door at the end. Especially Glazier: after a 20-4 year, it's his last year of eligibility and he can only go 197, and he's booted out for a guy coming in who also only has a single year of eligibility? Really? No loyalty at all? So is it my bias, or are Iowa's efforts (esp. Glazier) a new low in selling out your homegrown guys?3 points

TBD on if Swenson or Alek Martin are wrestling this year. Both sustained knee injuries. We will see.3 points

You are the idiot that started the post giving Iowa the hate. And I quote “Tommy B says "We like our guys". “Well apparently not as much as some other teams' guy!” So, you start the hate and then tell people to stop hating?3 points

Anyone else worried about Bob? According to TF1, Durov was served an arrest warrant in relation to a preliminary police investigation. The investigation is regarding his company's messaging app, as French police believe there are not enough moderators to keep criminal activity in check, reported TF1. The CEO was aboard his private jet at Paris-Le Bourget Airport, which formerly served as the French capital's main airport. Stay away from the private jet Bob!2 points

"Automotive News’ Larry P. Vellequette provides details on new property insurance guidance that helps dealerships manage fire risks when servicing electric vehicles." So, do you think the property insurance rates for dealerships is going down or up due to the risks involved with the green new EVs? They are sustainable, dontchaknow? How are Rivian's property insurance rates going to be affected?2 points

My favorite part of freestyle is when a wrestler gets a leglace and wins by TF in 12 seconds so we never actually get to see who the better wrestler is. My second favorite part is the arbitrary (and often match-deciding) referee decision of who goes on the shot clock.2 points

Who wouldn't want to see Askren in his prime vs Nolf in his prime? In folkstyle, of course. Break out the popcorn for that one.2 points

Yes, the press is now solidly the enemy of the people. They don't tell the truth. They distort event reporting to the benefit of the left. Whenever they err on a story it is always to the benefit of the left. They argue with any person interviewed that is not on the left. They are not interesting in informing the people. They are interested in steering the conversation in one direction only, towards the left. If that isn't the enemy of the people, it is hard to tell what could be. mspart2 points

She was not the czar. You guys are conflating things. She was only called the Border Czar by every network known to man until she became the default D candidate for President. Then all of the sudden she was not the border czar anymore. She was only supposed to figure out root causes for the illegal immigration. But she couldn't/didn't even do that. The #1 root cause of the illegal immigration morass was the Biden admin signaling to everyone south of the border that it was ok, to come across the now open border. But she couldn't even figure that out. And people want her to run the country? mspart2 points

i just post food for thought. AND IT IS an original thought, THEIR original thought. I don't feel comfortable stealing that as my own. thinking can be hard. and it can make one angry, b/c one has to think about things that they initially disagree with but hopefully... and the volume? I am constantly being told that there is no evidence for a, b or c... yet i post this YUGE volume of stuff.. must not be enough. I know. I will redouble my efforts2 points

Wow. The man who saved Iowa wrestling from itself last year, Zach Glazier, is now surplus to requirements.2 points

I think Swenson to 165 has been the plan since NCAA’s ended last year but I’m not 100% on that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk2 points

Glazier would likely (easily) start for them at 197lbs. The Siebrechts would likely need to head to a different weight to start, unless the SDSU incumbents 'decide' to head to a different weight (school)? Swensen has been 157lbs his entire career, whereas Siebrencht went up from 149lbs the year before his suspension (two seasons ago). If Cade intends to start, he will have to supplant Alek Martin. Martin is clearly better right now. Another option is both drop in weight, with Cade going 141lbs. A much easier path, where the scale is his biggest opponent, and Cobe going 149lbs... which would be with the intent of replacing Martin then. Cobe is probably the better wrestler at 149 or 157, so he likely gets choice. So Swensen to 165lbs, then? Cade hasn't had his shot, yet, but has been in the room, so he could be right there with Cobe as far as skill and aptitude goes.2 points

An interesting note to this is that LRA returns their starter at 149lbs from last year as well as another incoming transfer (from Northern Illinois) in Jaivon Jones. All three likely thought they would have a starting spot this year, so there will be competition for this spot. Jaivon is a senior and really came on towards the end of the season with some very tight matches against NQ/AA. I imagine they try to make a spot for him, with him dropping to 141lbs, or perhaps having the Bianchi boys each go up in weight (165/174 rather than 157/165, which is already 2/3 weight classes above where they started out in LRA) and having either Jones or Williams go 157lbs.2 points

How did these hs athletes win u17 worlds mostly solely concentrating on folkstyle !!!! It’s kind of mind boggling. They beat all these other countries that never even trained in folkstyle. If we don’t change everything now we will never be competitive. U17 MFS: 3 3 3 5th Place WORLD TEAM TITLE! Also… fan of the mocco’s…. Co gongrats but 18 second techs should not be a thing in the world finals. Flippy flippy leg laces aren’t real wrestling.2 points

If it wasn’t for that pesky folkstyle…. How did we possibly win u17 worlds? U17 MFS: 3 3 3 5th Place WORLD TEAM TITLE!2 points

There is zero chance of this happening. There are 6 male FS olympians every 4 years. The idea that 20-25 recruits a year would skip college wrestling to pursue those spots is absurd. You are inventing a fairy tale and then arguing what might happen if that fairy tale happens.2 points

This is a very American take. “The height of wrestling is winning NCAA titles” has to be one of the most ignorant statements I’ve ever heard. Globally, Greco is the most popular style and freestyle is right there with it. How could you say Cejudo has not reached the heights he should’ve when said NCAA champions are trying to reach what he did?!?!?!1 point

The cost to Iowa is what $0? Iowa isn’t paying NIL….. external donors are…. At least that’s what I thought. Also… the blue psu sunglasses often forget psu dips into the transfer pool a bit too. kerk. Dean. Truax. Messenbrink. Ngao to name a few. Some of those are ncaa champions / finalists.1 point

Give a team an elite recruit/transfer and you feed them for a season (or at least a semester). Teach a team to recruit and you feed them for many years.1 point

that culture is ubiquitous. I remind you PSU had a 3 time NCAA champ forfeit out of the same tournament.1 point
