  2. Tracy McGrady once told a story about Kobe. One offseason, apparently at a hotel, McGrady told Kobe that he was going to go work out. Kobe responded by acting like he was crazy. “What are you going to work out for? We’re in the offseason. You don’t need to work out.” McGrady eventually accepted that idea, went back to his room, changed, and relaxed for a bit. But after a short while he got antsy and decided to go lift. And once he got in the weight room, he saw Kobe lifting.

  3. Seems like a really good grab for USA Wrestling: https://www.themat.com/news/2024/july/09/j-den-cox-named-national-freestyle-development-and-resident-coach-for-usa-wrestling Haven't heard anything about his coaching abilities but it always seemed to me he'd be very good at it... very talented, likeable and a very smart guy.

  4. What are the American people most concerned with. According to polls, illegal immigration is near the top of the list. That sounds like something to key in on. Not my pet project. It is most people's pet project. My thoughts on the Senate's border bill is that it was a joke. Allow up to 5000 illegals entry per day before "maybe" something happens to shut that down. Because it is left up to the executive's whim to do something about it. It was not statutory to do something. It was essentially what is happening now anyway. It would have been no different than current situation. The people being harmed are the US citizens having to pay for housing for these illegals. The people being harmed are those coming over from all over the world with the cartels running the show and exacting money and blood and sex. There is no reason to accept this at all. mspart

  5. i applaud your effort. no one wants the place to be a silo of agreeable ideas. but everyone should ask themselves 'does what i'm about to post further the conversation or rather get into a personal pissing contest'? and by everyone, i mean me too. i have to remind myself of that often.

  8. Folks don't want parks no more they want pickleball courts. Just mostly kidding. Played pickleball in a KC park ~half mile from our vrbo, nice houses around the park. Folks in the houses don't like people using the park. They had shut down half the courts, the remote work at home folks thought it too noisy and courts weren't that close to the houses. I've found similar with cycling, some folks just get annoyed when they see others outside getting exercise.

  11. Top notion guy in all respects. I just saw he is married to Whitney Condor (former world team member) and they have twin girls. Look out if those girls decide to wrestle down the road.

  12. If you don’t think the policies driven by the president of the world’s largest economy impact the prices through out the world you need to find a clue. Go back to Bidens first day in office and all those anti energy executive orders were signed. He certainly plays apart whether you like it or not.

  13. Not with your Tax and spend philosophy. Not with your war on the rich. Not with your tax way more and don't hold down spending. You have no answer to increasing spending other than tax more. You are no conservative by any decade's standard. Good luck trying to convince us. mspart

  15. LOL...wow...you do realize I was not the one discussing the county being locked down forever, right?!?! Or is it just your schtick of knowing, once again, you are wrong and when called out on it you deflect by arguing someone else's point with me? Admit you were wrong and move on...you continually embarrass yourself.

  16. Is there an asterisk if Yaz wins, given the favored Taylor will not be there? No. Is there an asterisk if the favored wrestler is upset early, and the eventual champ doesn't wrestle them? No. Is there an asterisk when there are wrestlers at home that are better than the competitors in the bracket? No. Is there an asterisk from 2022 when Fujinami Akari missed the WC with an injury, and Dom Parrish won gold? No. Is there an asterisk when Iran loses to Israel by faked injury? No. The official record and recognition of the champion remains valid.

  29. I'll play your game. What percentage of people coming across the border claim asylum? Are they instantly considered "legal" at that point? Is there, or should there be a vetting process to determine legality of their crossing? Can claiming "asylum" ever be disproven? Does the word "illegal" really bother you that much? What racists remarks were made by "a moron at 1600"? Be specific and prove why they are racists. Why wouldn't they all be characterized as "illegals" when in fact they are until vetted...no? How is it un-empathetic to make sure everyone is vetted before being let into the country? Have you asked those people if they feel bad because of a word? Where does the word "quasi-isolationist" come from?? What is wrong with America First?? Do you not want to make America First? Isn't letting people come here LEGALLY not one of the things that make America a great country? Who on here is against letting people come here LEGALLY? Do you want open borders? For all? Just specific groups? Do you think what is going on now is okay and is sustainable? Does your last two sentences have any basis in reality other than in your fragile mind?

  30. Hi RV, you could have just posted this rather than link to it but it helps make my point. Tax rates went down from 1962 to today generally. But look at the revenues since 1962: Please note that 2023 is at the left and 1962 is at the right. I got this data from https://www.thebalancemoney.com/current-u-s-federal-government-tax-revenue-3305762 Revenues went up as tax rates went down. Funny how that works. mspart

  33. Listening to Spencers interview on flow, he speaks about how he feels 125 is too small of a weight for the modern day male. I think this was a general sentiment but especially in regards to the collegiate season. He mentions how he thinks it will get even worse in the coming years and attributes the roller coaster that is 125lbs to this. It made me wonder if you are a college coach are you looking to recruit and undersized guy who may not be quite as elite as say a guy who was making 126 his senior year of high school. An example of this that I thought of was Ayden smith. Ayden is great hes a 2x 1st place guy in PA and he wrestled 113 the entire year regardless of the 2lbs. Now is he Luke Lilledahl obviously not, but I think he will comfortably make 125 for 4 years. Lilledahl is a poor example because he could be an all timer given his trajectory but the point im trying to get at is do you want the guy thats not quite as good right now but could make 125 his junior and senior year or the guy who's good right now but may end up at 133 after a year or two and has to cut his ass off.

  38. I'd be inclined to agree with some of these concepts other than the use of the "deep end" and "radically". Things do and always have shifted a little left or a little right. But in recent times with the evolution of social media people tend to use the extremes to describe what is happening...we are neither "radically" right, nor "radically" left on things. However, those that are in fact off the "deep end" right or left tend to be the ones that get the most airtime when in fact the majority of the people and government is close to the middle ideologically. Anyway, if Biden/Harris get elected the US isn't "doomed" and vice versa, if Trump is elected the US isn't doomed either. My personally opinion is that while I dislike Trump, I'd be WAY more worried if Biden/Harris got re-elected just based on the fact that Harris will end up leading the US and I have never once seen or heard about anything she done for the country as the VP. And when I say "worried" I don't mean the US will be destroyed, but rather the policies, or lack thereof, will be things I probably don't agree with, and there will be even more divisiveness in the country. Just one poor mans opinion.

  43. I know reading comprehension can be hard, but I think if you go and read what I wrote again it doesn't say what you think it says. I never once said that sex of a person was made up. Rather, in the development of language (which in of itself can be considered a scientific field), humans developed different words in order to describe things hence created language. The creation of language doesn't superseded how we are genetically put together...aka, we are either male or female (99.9999999%). Now if you want to argue why we called it male or female, in addition to woman and man, sure, let's do that, pick any other two words besides man and woman to describe the two genetic geno- and phenotypes of humans in regards to their sex...should we pick pencil for males and erasers for females?? Go ahead three arrows...you can pick whatever two words you want in order to make yourself all warm and fuzzy at night...there there now....
