  1. Does anyone else feel kinda awkward coming here still. Like if your wife themat.com suddenly left you, you know you need to move on and try dating another site, yet it just still feels off to be getting seriously involved Intermat so soon after the split. Ah maybe a couple drinks will help.

  2. Regardless of who's fault it is, it's not the best look for a college to hold someone's eligibility whom you recruited over and wants to leave.

  18. Wisconsin knew the May 1 deadline.... they were obviously in talks with Lamont... they told Burwick May 23... announced Lamont on May 24 knowing that Burwick could not go in the portal and transfer without their approval. Unfortunately this has happened with several wrestlers. Free Burwick.

  20. http://fs.ncaa.org/Docs/eligibility_center/Transfer/OneTime_Transfer.pdf I took 30 seconds to find this link above. Was this kind of document not there in the past? Maybe. I don’t know. But I would bet that the effort to find and read the rules would have taken no more than 1 hour. No one can tell me that a student athlete doesn’t have 10 hours to spare over the course of a month to understand the rules related to such a big decision. Let’s not baby these guys. And the point about keyboard warriors not knowing about the window — so what? Are any of us actively considering entering the portal?

  22. This was discussed a lot on the old forums and there were very few that typed as if they knew there was a window. Everyone aside fot myself, Dr. Phil, WKN, and maybe one or two others showed an understanding of this. If everyone in this thread was at the old hole in the wall as well, then you either took part in the discussion as if you weren't aware or you weren't part of the discussion, which means whether you admit it or not - the portal window is also new news to you as well. We, as Keyboard Warrior Fanboys (KWF) have more time to listen to podcasts or read articles or in some way have heard wind about it. Is it not conceivable that these full time student-athletes might not know the fine print as well? I doubt many coaches or schools are trying to show these guys how and when to appropriately transfer out. To the school they are lost revenue. To the coaches losing a kid's trust means you failed them somehow - deliberate or not. Admitting or allowing that might be seen as counterproductive to their end product. Hell, they might not even clearly know the rules themselves.

  27. Everyone knows Bono is petty and vindictive. This is why you don’t go to a school with a coach like that. Also, educate yourself on rules.

  28. That may be true, but ADs seem to believe or assume otherwise. Most top programs have a coach who was an NCAA champ at least once. I doubt there are any top programs whose head coach was not at least an AA. Other sports often have coaches who were not star players or who did not even play D1, a la Belechek and the Van Gundy brothers. Wrestling has a different model.

  30. Surtin was there - but in the stands with friends. Edmond had something done back in April. Which was timed with him redshirting this year. Hawks had a clean up on his knee in September, but has been back wrestling live for a few weeks now.

  35. Finally to a computer. My access doesn't give me detailed logs on things - I was never the server or site administrator, I just had some next level mod/admin access when needed. What I can say is my post went through at 9:32 CDT. The only thing I can say definitively is I was browsing threads on Tapatalk when it blanked out. I opened the browser and posted the new thread. It appears the time the lights were turned off was 9:30 CDT, putting my post in "after the whistle" since I can still see what's on the board, but I wouldn't know I had any different access until after the fact. I had my computer packed up since I had an early flight this morning. So I TRULY didn't know what time they were going out, other than I tried to get one in there at the end, not to steal anyone else's glory, but to pay homage to the OGs with the lockup word from the previous iteration of the board, magistrate. My access didn't allow me any logs that displayed timestamps in a clean view. I never dove that deep into server logs, etc when I was at USAW. I may have looked at the admin panel 2-3x a year after I left 10 years ago. If they (logs) do exist, I don't know where to find them. The moderation view does allow me to click on an IP address and see the most recent posts from that IP, so that allowed me to see that my post was two minutes AFTER the last actual post on the board. Now possessing that knowledge, I moved my post to the deleted bin, so I can say the very last posts on the board both came at 9:30 p.m. - and based on the order in the thread, @GreatWhiteNorthgot one in, but @jross posted right after it, at 9:30. @ionel's post on the Last Word thread came at 9:17 p.m. Here's that last thread and the last three posts (not by anyone with admin access) on the board. I hope that clarifies it. I honestly didn't know everyone else was locked out when I posted. Now I do. Even in death, that forum was causing me a headache.

  36. I think Whiting should red-shirt. His defense is super solid, great positioning, but his offense needs to be improved and would benefit a great deal from red-shirting. I also wondered about Hawks. Didn’t see Surtin either. Edmonds was on the side for a bit but didn’t wrestle. I’m guessing Edmonds also red-shirts and then next year comes back at 141 after Hart is done. Edmond did an admirable job filling in at 149 last year but I think he was undersized for the weight. See how Conner does at 133 this year. Guess he had his knee tweaked a bit against Seltzer and looked a little apprehensive with it but won handily and did his sprint off the mat to the tunnel. Most impressed with Pulliam but I don’t know where he is going to fit. Looked like Mauller was just going through the motions with Pulliam. Wish Jacques would use that offense and pace every match this year. O’Toole is just on a different level from everyone. He is going to do special things. Hell he won AA’s last year going through a gauntlet with damn near a broken ankle from second round on, can’t imagine what a healthy O’Toole does this year but I am going to have funny watching and finding out. M-I-Z.
