Exactly. It’s evidence in favor of freeman’s disposition yet these football guys cannot understand in spite of their own hubris.

Look up the Barry Switzer Stan Abel story.

Totally straight-forward question: How old are you? I'm interested in when this term became a synonym for "chicken sh*t."

Last... 5 years it seems.

Before that, you didn't really need to tell people if you were a bitch or not. You just... pressed charges if someone bumped you whilst walking past.

Listening to these ND football pundits going on about how short fleeger is and how freeman could mess him up is laughable. Don’t fool around with dudes with cauliflower ear. Freeman was smart to get out of there not only to protect his money but realizing there are fights you do not have just straight up on a physical risk assessment. Not defending fleeger at all for this behavior. But at one time not many in the world could handle him pound for pound.

Even if it was Luke Fickell, a guy who was an absolute stud and a lot bigger than Fleeger(or you could pick Dan Campbell, but I'm not coming up with a lot of coaches who both make millions and are physically imposing)... it's still a pretty bad look to get into a fight over your kids sporting events.

I'm thinking Marcus Freeman was more worried about his job as the HC of one of the most prominent programs in the country.... but sure, Fleeger could probably win a fight... and be dumb enough to still want to get into one at his age.

Not a lawyer, but wondering/hoping Freeman and/or the local PD pursue Fleeger for something - civil suit, false charges, lying to police, something. Doubt anyone will waste their time with this, but total Orange story.

I doubt they can prove fleeger was making a false claim. His employer is in an even more uncomfortable position considering the report

Why not? Flat out says his account didn’t match the tape. And there’s 2 witnesses/acquaintances who told 2 different stories that didn’t match his account OR the tape. Again, doubt they’ll waste the time but this is just pathetic, it’s like drunken HS me and my buddies trying to corroborate stories about how a lamp or window or wall got broke at a party. Were any of Fleegers collegiate “injury” default attempts for head injuries? Concussion protocol wasn’t a thing then…

Can you remind me of this?  Googling them now brings up a ton of stuff related to lawsuit over a restaurant, but I know that’s not it.

The tape just shows the gym. His claim was that he was pushed in the hallway.

I cant tell it well, we had an old OU poster (think we lost him) on the other board who told it and other great true Oklahoma stories.  Someone here will remember his username.

Basically Barry calls Stan into his office.  Stan standing in front of the desk while Barry sits there and chews Stan out for a good bit because wrestler(s) had beat up some of his football players at a bar.  When finished with the profanity laced chewing Stan says if you want to talk to him directly he is here behind me.  Stan steps aside and there stands OU's starting 134lber.  Barry with a few more choice words and then yells at them to get out of his office.

Thanks.  I had heard that before maybe when that other posted told it.  Don’t remember his name either.

The report actually says touching occurred.  It not enough to prove intent

Some of your Re spending a lot of time pointing out that Fleeger can puff his chest out better, but  it focusing on the main issue.  Why did Fleeger feel it necessary as an adult and a coach prominent youth club to take several digs at Freeman’s kid, especially in front of other wrestlers and fans. .

I had heard Fleeger tried to get Freeman’s kid to join his club and wrestle for his school, they declined. And apparently he took it personal and hasn’t gotten over it. Freeman’s kid lost a match, he wasn’t wrestling one of Fleegers kids (to my knowledge) and yet Fleeger took it upon himself to seek out the kid, the parents, the coach and make public comments? Out loud. In the gym and hallway? Dudes got a screw loose it appears.

Maybe CTE from that slam win at nationals.  Could the injury default have been real after all?

Just chiming in having rewatched it, that was the textbook definition of an illegal slam.  Controlled both of fleeger's feet, stood all the way to his own feet, and didn't brace with anything just driving fleeger completely into the mat.  Reiter got frustrated he was losing and did something to try to take fleeger out.

The poorest type of sportsmanship.

That said, so is filing a false police report.

The debate at the time wasn't that a slam was called. It was that he injury defaulted after the slam and then was completely fine 5 hours later and won in the semifinals easily.

5 hours? It's entirely feasible someone could be unable to finish a match but recovered enough to wrestle again 5 yrs. later. Also was winning when slammed, so no incentive to fake an injury.
