    Listening to these ND football pundits going on about how short fleeger is and how freeman could mess him up is laughable. Don’t fool around with dudes with cauliflower ear. Freeman was smart to get out of there not only to protect his money but realizing there are fights you do not have just straight up on a physical risk assessment. Not defending fleeger at all for this behavior. But at one time not many in the world could handle him pound for pound.

    Fluff piece. Answer is wrestling governance has built a stupidly imbalanced and uncompetitive structure between haves and have nots since well before Sanderson even wrestled. It is a completely uninteresting and unwatchable product now. The key to Sanderson success is financial investment. This is evidenced by his move as a coach from iowa state to penn state before the real “winning” began.

    I would argue Russia routinely sends high quality fresh faces to some degree. Of course they tend to keep tried and true in the running longer than we do with team trials.

    Don’t think this ushers in a new golden age. Although some could argue 3 gold points to some strength. Snyder is part of the old guard and great to see him back on top

    3 golds is a tremendous accomplishment. You want to think more medals but you have to be realistic. It’s like a balance. 3 did better than hoped 3 did worse. Some didn’t catch fire but most did about as good as could be expected.
