Rumor is Fleeger was blocking the door talking smack and Freeman kept walking and shoulder checked him. Sounds pretty beta to file charges.

Fleeger's a huge prick. Been around him a couple times. Has a history of violence too. This is exactly the kind of thing he would do. It's surprising that he keeps getting coaching gigs.

Totally straight-forward question: How old are you? I'm interested in when this term became a synonym for "chicken sh*t."

Fleeger is Fleeger.  He is a peckerhead.

In Fleeger's defense, his first instinct after the shoulder check was to injury default and take a win by default, but then he realized he is no longer competing. This was the next best thing he could do.

Its worse than peckerhead status, if this is true as its being explained he was engaged in an almost blatant attempt to get "assaulted" so he could cash in on a lawsuit.....thats borderline criminal.

Well that was quick. From a PSU board…

From The Athletic today:

“After reviewing the Mishawaka Police Department’s investigation into this incident, the Prosecutor’s Office has determined that no criminal battery occurred,” the prosecutor’s office said in a statement. “As such, no criminal charges will be filed against Mr. Freeman.”

During its investigation, which included viewing video surveillance of the wrestling meets, prosecutors determined there was physical contact between Freeman and Fleeger but did not deem it to be intentional, nor did it match Fleeger’s accounting of the incident.

Fleeger told officers that Freeman gave him a “two-handed push” without motivation and did not know the identity of Notre Dame’s head coach at the time of the incident. But in follow-up interviews, Fleeger said he did recognize Freeman, noting that the Notre Dame head coach was “rich” and that Fleeger planned to hire an attorney.

The Mishawaka police interviewed two acquaintances of Fleeger, and each described the incident with Freeman differently. One said Freeman struck Fleeger with an open hand. Another said Freeman struck Fleeger with enough force to send Fleeger backwards. The prosecutor’s office said video of the incident did not support either claim.

Investigators also interviewed Freeman, who acknowledged knowing Fleeger. Freeman said he told Fleeger to stop talking to his son and other wrestlers and that he did not remember making any physical contact.

“Based on a review of all of the evidence, the State would not be able to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that a crime occurred,” the prosecutor’s office said. “While the evidence suggests that a touching may have occurred, an inadvertent touching is not sufficient. The State is therefore declining to file any criminal charges.”

As Dresser would say, what an Orange.

Is it true Freenan tried to bribe Fleeger into making the suit go away by offering him free Notre Dame bowl tickets,

Huh, a bit depressing.  Many here have shared some pretty ugly perspectives on his character.  That write up didn’t help.  Sounds like the guy needs to take a hard look in the mirror and commit to bettering his character.

Haha. In any event, I prefer "chicken sh*t" or "punk a*s" bc those give me the option of hedging my own macho bona fides. "Beta" forces me to imply I'm an "alpha." I like the badass spectrum rather than the binary.

Listening to these ND football pundits going on about how short fleeger is and how freeman could mess him up is laughable. Don’t fool around with dudes with cauliflower ear. Freeman was smart to get out of there not only to protect his money but realizing there are fights you do not have just straight up on a physical risk assessment. Not defending fleeger at all for this behavior. But at one time not many in the world could handle him pound for pound.

Fleeger would tear Freeman apart.  Which then makes you wonder why would Fleeger care about a little push?
