Ramos recruited + coached a 2x NCAA champ/ 5x AA and has had at least one AA ever year since joining in a state historically lacking wrestling resources and a school that had long become an afterthought. I will take that "cringe" every day of the week and twice on Sunday. So save the strays for someone else.

Was this talked about on FRL? I missed the discussion if so

Was brought up in the questions at the end and CP seemed very hesitant to talk about it.

Everyone can have their thoughts on Flo and CP but one thing is certain.. CP is very careful not to share information that he has before the party(s) involved want that information shared, or the information is confirmed. The anti-Minnow approach.

His reaction was interesting though where it sounded to me like there is more to the situation than his wife wanted to move back home. Having listened to CP as much as I have, his reaction to the question sounded like there is some drama behind this move and Flo doesn't want to get involved or be a catalyst by fanning the flame.

On a side note, this off-season drama has been wild and we're only a few weeks removed from NCAAs. Who'd have thought we'd have so much to talk about?

I crap on CP and Flo all the time, but you are very very right about this.  Even though they love to stir the pot about "what might be happening in the future" in certain scenarios, they are very careful in the areas you're talking about.

Some drama not including Iowa? That would be a nice change of pace.

I only listened to the time stamp that addresses leaving OKST but walked away with little clarity. It sounds like there was friction between Gilman and some part of the staff (not a big surprise). He also mentioned "some things happening after nationals" could this potentially allude to the donor altercation? Finally, is it just me or did it look like Gilman had something under his lip? Picking up the tobacci chaw habit?

Sounds like he feels the decision to go to OK State and Coach was rushed and not thought through well.  And on multiple occasions mentioned not getting along ‘with staff.’

Lol.  Gilman is such an odd duck.

Great competitor, not sure coaching is in his future and certainly not while he is still competing.

You serious? Troy Spratley went from R12 to national finalist (with a win over the dude that beat Spencer Lee) and sounded like he was working almost exclusively with Gilman. I'd say the dude can coach, and coach well.

And now, he's going to work with Lilledahl, Davis, Ono and Blaze.

I hope not.  It's been the hardest vice I've tried to quit and have failed at it so many times.  It's a terrible habit

Proud of my guy @Jason Bryant on this front.  It is a battle, though.

He can coach, can he deal with administrators?  He seems like a guy that should open his own youth club

Spratley was capable of much higher than R12 in 2024.  Spratley also lost to a freshman with zero state titles who was only invited on one official visit.

It wasn't like he jumped levels and levels this year.

Ehh, true, but for most of the top college guys (excluding the truly elite guys like Carter, Gable, Aaron Brooks, Spencer Lee, etc. [and even all those guys took losses except Carter]), the devil is in the details to make those jumps in results.  Gilman and the rest of the staff should get credit for that.
