From the team you cheer for who do you pick as the next wrestler from your favorite team to transfer?

From Oklahoma State my next guess to transfer is Carter Young.   He started last season at 141 and red shirted this season, and with Tegan Jamison starting this season I find it hard to believe he can beat Jamison or Williams at 149.  So he would be my pick to leave.

For me with Michigan it's Rylan Rogers.  His best friends wrestle for Cal Poly and Purdue.  Both have needs.

I don't want him to go, though.

For me with Michigan State is is Lujan or Fish.

Could Fish bump up with Gilcher going back down to 157?

Fish is small, man.  Average 165 at best.

Gilcher has been 74 KG, so I could see it.

Could Lillard go up?

This is why I don’t think the portal is “the end of college wrestling.”   There have also been a fair amount of guys transfer out of some of the top schools as well.

No clue what weight he weighed in at, but Askren said the AWA guys wanted to wrestle different weights so that they could see how many Champs could come from AWA and not have to take each other out. I wouldn’t be surprised if Sinclair was an 184 easy right now. How that works out with Hawks and Whiting I don’t know, but if I’m Smith and Sinclair wants to go asap, you have to start the #1 ranked 220 period.

They said that for last year. I don't think they explicitly stated that this year, but...clearly that was the goal. And Sinclair did Wrestle Mirasola this year anyway. So...not a whole lot to prove(though it'd have been interesting).

I'd like to see Sinclair RS...just because I'm always rooting for the next 4X Champ, the next guy with a shot at going undefeated. That's really premature, but he's that type of talent if he's at '74 with a year of weight training...IMO.

He's that good.

Everything is "the end of College Wrestling."

Hasn't D3 been one by Augsburg or Wartburg for 30+ years in a row? There are kids at all different schools still battling their asses off.

Iowa was as dominant as Penn State. They had those caps, they'd get a guy like Mcllravy through a couple years, he'd get hired to do the camps, get paid enough to cover tuition, he'd no longer be on scholarship and they'd bring in the next wave.

There's always something that's going to be "the end of___" and people adapt. It's a sport dominated by a few teams. Always has been. Right now it's PSU.

By adapt you really mean the lower level teams have to adapt to losing the guys they recruited and developed, correct? You are correct that a few teams have dominated the sport over the years, but it's not the same as the Mcllravy days - not even close.

Caleb Fish at 165 would be a decent grab for someone.  He majored in business and wants to be in finance or accounting for his grad program.  He personally enjoys hunting.  So a rural school with good finance/accounting.  Illinois, NC State or maybe Oklahoma.

Great hunting and fishing around Brookings, SD and Tanner Cook is graduated so we have a hole in the lineup. Come train with Cael Swensen and Cade Devos!

Any idea when the portal window closes?

The portal opened in March right before Nationals, so 45 days from that... first week of May or so.

Yep... and to add I don't believe those rules apply to grad transfers.

No. It's a different team dominating. Not Iowa. Night and Day different...

Well the one thing that really might be would be the Big Ten and SEC leaving the NCAA…

Foca is not graduating this year.  He will be wrestling at Cornell in 2025 by deferring the fall semester.

Well he entered the portal...

That is all the list is for.  That column under 'Transfering To' will remain empty so long as he doesn't commit to a different institution.

Where does it say he entered the portal?  He's not on Flo's list.

As part of his major do you know if Foca participated in "Dragon Day" yesterday?
