Count me in. Been training all year for a better performance than last.

First you have to move up to Varsity....

I had a great first round and was leading the pack last year. I faded fast... need to get in better shape for that second round.

I'm totally cool with all fantasy threads being here after we've finished the draft.

But I kind of like the idea of the draft discussion being on a single thread in the College Wrestling topic (in addition to whatever else we have going on.) Then - afterward - back here.

Historically, the fantasy draft has been followed by quite a few people who aren't participating (including me at one time.) It is an interesting thing to follow for those that aren't participants... it really is. The numbers bore that out. Likely because nothing else is really going on at the time, and perspectives on relative values of wrestlers makes for an interesting topic just prior to NCAA's.

I felt obligated to contribute my opinion - but I'm OK with whatever direction we go.

I don't mind it being there for the discussion.  If @BobDole or @Husker_Du want to move this thread to the main college board, that's fine.  Is anybody other than @Antitroll2828 thinking a Zoom might be difficult for them.  We can probably work around a couple of people not being there, but if like half the draft can't be there, it defeats a lot of the purpose, IMO.

We can also create a club specifically for your group to discuss things and do the business. That might be a good way to keep things separated.

What does that entail?  Apparently some people watched our draft play out last year?

I was actually suggesting leaving this thread here. No moves necessary by either @BobDole or @Husker_Du.

My idea was simply that we have a one-day "DRAFT" thread on the college board so others could follow on draft day.

There's a reason why ESPN covers various drafts in detail for multiple days... it's super interesting for fans.

I also like the idea of the draft being here instead of on Zoom. This place is the HQ of wrestling.

i think that's a good idea. hopefully encourages others to start leagues or whatever.

Let's leave it for people to follow.....Doing my part to build the Intermat brand.....

I would rather not Zoom for the specificity of keeping it exclusive to these forums, @VakAttack.

Also, I am old and technology sucks.

I had suggested Zoom to make it go faster.  It would make it easier for me to update the board as picks are being made.

That said... I also see the benefit if doing the draft on the forum.  There were a number a spectators who were following the action.  The banter during the draft was also fun to follow.  Just need to make sure users are constantly refreshing their browser windows.

Have we settled on a date/time?  I like the idea of Sunday, the 16th.  I'm in Vegas (Pacific time), but I'm an early-riser and can start as early as necessary.

Idaho is looking to get an NIL deal out of this draft.

The winner does get ultimate bragging rights for the year.

I can't even remember who won last year....

It wasn't me.

I let my bias fanboyism control my destiny, even if I know I am not going to win.
