Dresser just admitted the coaches blew it.   The subtending story of the match so far.

Good of Dresser to admit it was a bad coaching call.

love dresser taking responsibility

To be fair Gaitan did come close to turning him.  Gaitan getting a turn there probably a similar chance as another TD given the little time left

I gave Iowa garbage, now I have to give it to ISU.  It is so clear that their upper weights just lean on each other in the room.  They need a big boys coach who can actually move and teach.  The difference in preparedness and attitude is so clear.

Fourteen seconds...

1:39 13-7  (cut)
0:38 13-10 (1 minute to secure take down)
0:35 14-10 (3 seconds to cut)
0:15 14-13  (20 seconds to secure take down)

So he must return to his feet and secure a takedown in 15 seconds.   As slow as both were moving... there'd be 10 seconds to secure the takedown after the cut.  To your point, we'll never know.

He came close to the turn, with how they were moving at the end I think a takedown was less likely.

In an alternate reality we got that finish to the match, but it still probably goes Iowa’s way. Either way you dice it that’s a tall order.
