This is the item I heard on the radio. She got the call at 4am, this is the one. From the X item: Pregnant liberal took so much Tylenol after hearing Donald Trump say it causes autism she’s now in the ICU and is going to die Executive Director of American Frontline Nurses got a “very frantic call at 4am from a husband whose wife is now dying of liver failure on a ventilator in an ICU, because she was trying to prove that Tylenol doesn't cause autism because of what Trump said” She’s going to die “Whether or not you believe the Harvard study or not is not, not the issue here. The issue is that she's somewhere between 23 to 25 weeks and she overdosed on Tylenol, and she's going to die” I would hope this is a crank. I would hope no one is that stupid. But it is believable because of the overreaction to anything Trump does or says. mspart

Please show where Turley showed conservative idealism in his report that I cited. Then I'll take your critique more seriously. I find his legal explanations are none partisan. They are straightforward and professorial in my opinion. I'll give you some examples: “[Undocumented persons are being] deported without due process. Kavanaugh has said go for it, not constitutional problem.” I am not sure what Professor Klarman was referencing here. However, in cases like A.A.R.P. v. Trump, Justice Kavanaugh joined his colleagues in halting deportations to protect the due process rights of these undocumented persons. It was Justices Alito and Thomas who dissented to allow removal under the Alien Enemies Act. The majority stated that the Administration “erred in dismissing the detainees’ appeal for lack of jurisdiction.” Kavanaugh wrote a concurrence stating: “The circumstances call for a prompt and final resolution, which likely can be provided only by this Court. At this juncture, I would prefer not to remand to the lower courts and further put off this Court’s final resolution of the critical legal issues. Rather, consistent with the Executive Branch’s request for expedition—and as the detainees themselves urge—I would grant certiorari, order prompt briefing, hold oral argument soon thereafter, and then resolve the legal issues.” In 2025, he did vote with the majority in a 5-4 decision on Venezuelan immigrants. It allowed for deportations to continue in ruling that the challengers erred in not bringing their challenges as habeas corpus claims. However, it also ruled that the alleged gang members need to be given notice of deportation and the opportunity to contest the deportation. Kavanaugh voted in favor of that position. I may be missing what Professor Klarman is referencing but Kavanaugh has repeatedly voted in favor of due process rights, even if it may not be as robust as Professor Klarman might have wanted. There are cases under this and prior administrations allowing for immediate deportations near the border that occur within a certain period of time. I cannot see any decision where he has effectively “said go for it” and deny any due process. 2. “Washington Post fired a journalist who simply reposted words from Charlie Kirk’s mouth” and “[Bezos] just fired a journalist for basically saying something that is true.” Professor Klarman made repeated claims about this controversy. It appears to be a reference to the termination of former Washington Post columnist Karen Attiah. However, it is not true that she was fired for “simply reposting words from Charlie Kirk’s mouth” but for making racially inflammatory comments in direct contravention of both Washington Post policies and prior warnings from her editors. Soon after Charlie Kirk’s assassination, Attiah went on to Bluesky to post an attack on him with reference to his race. In one, she declared: “Refusing to tear my clothes and smear ashes on my face in performative mourning for a white man that espoused violence is….not the same as violence.” In a second posting, she wrote, “Part of what keeps America so violent is the insistence that people perform care, empty goodness and absolution for white men who espouse hatred and violence.” Those were the comments cited by the Washington Post for its actions. The Post stated “Your postings on Bluesky (which clearly identifies you as a Post Columnist) about white men in response to the killing of Charlie Kirk do not comply with our policy.” The Post prohibits postings that disparage people based on their race, gender, or other protected characteristics. Sources told the media that Attiah had been confronted multiple times by the paper’s management over her inflammatory social media posts. This includes one in 2020 where she ended up apologizing on social media for erroneously saying that a new French law targeted Muslim children. It is simply not true that the Post fired her for quoting Kirk. Please let us know how this is rooted in politics. In my opinion he is quite factual in his explanations. You may not think so and that would be interesting to hear. There are more examples in his report that you can look at. mspart

I heard this on the radio as well. If Trump says breathing is good, will there be people saying he is wrong and they'll prove it? Of course not. Why is Tylenol any different? Read the stinking warnings. mspart

I just heard this on the radio. https://www.instagram.com/p/DPB7Vd3jmP9/ Some lady OD'd on Tylenol while pregnant and is now on a ventilator. I can't see the instagram but I believe it is the lady that got a call from the husband. Apparently, this lady took so much, she is in serious crisis and this lady on the instagram says she will die. Why would people do this? I suppose this is all not true but the video above says that there are people doing this. Tylenol is bad for the liver and there are many warnings not to overuse it because of liver issues. This is just plain stupid. If Trump was to say heroin is bad for women to use while pregnant, will pregnant women go out and OD on heroin to prove him wrong? Tylenol is known for bad outcomes if overused. I just don't understand. mspart

Hillary Clinton and Al Gore learned the hard way (and thank goodness for that) that total vote means nothing in Presidential elections. Because total vote does not elect the President. The Electoral college elects the President and that has been true since the Constitution was ratified. You can complain all you want but that doesn't change this fact. Hillary famously ignored Wisconsin and lost the race due to that. In electoral politics, Kamala's race was not the closest by a long shot. I proved it in my earlier post. You just don't want to accept that reality. mspart

Isn't that the definition of a politician? mspart

Interestingly, the Atlantic article states the following: Mistreatment of American citizens by immigration authorities is not new. According to a 2021 Government Accountability Office report, the best available data indicate that Immigration and Customs Enforcement arrested 674 “potential” U.S. citizens, detained 121, and removed 70 during a five-year, six-month period that ended in 2020. mspart

If he broke the law, and it appears he did with at least the documents he snuck out of the FBI, then he should pay the piper. Simple as that. mspart

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/ice-crackdowns-changing-workplaces-37-194504544.html Why would citizens feel less safe? This makes no sense at all to me. Now if you are an illegal, then I can understand you not feeling safe. But I don't understand citizens not feeling safe. That's just weird and unreasonable. It's like saying there are police in the store to prevent shop lifting, I feel unsafe. Just weird to me. mspart

WA state now has highest gas and diesel prices
mspart replied to mspart's topic in Non Wrestling Topics
In WA, the state raises taxes and then approves legislation that allows counties and cities to do the same. Which they do. mspart -
And that is rhetorical violence that must be fought against. Shooting and killing is the only answer to this "war on liberals". RV you have to be honest and say both sides are inflammatory towards each other at the very least. If I remember correctly, there was an effort by Ds to impeach Trump on something, anything before he even took office in 2017. As it was, the Ds impeached him twice. It's not like the Ds are playing nice or anything or are the victims here. mspart

I disagree. Biden started this effort by allowing unfettered access to the US by illegal aliens coming from everywhere no matter from where. Trump's effort to get them out, and so far that is concentrating on those with US criminal history, is a natural consequence of the lack of lawful enforcement by the previous admin. The fact that states are harboring illegal aliens that have felony convictions is atrocious. Their self serving comments about keeping safe all state residents is hogwash. They are allowing these people to be on the streets to continue breaking the law and putting innocent law abiding citizens health and life at risk. And there are states actively opposing getting them out of the country. Trump didn't start this war, but he is trying to finish it. Is the current situation with states harboring illegal alien felons the correct thing to do? Ask those that voted for Trump, it is actually them you should blame. mspart

Are you saying Klarman is less partisan than Turley? I don't think so based on his performance in this debate calling Trump a fascist etc etc. Turley is/was a Democrat. But I think he is quite moderate and is disquieted by the extreme leftists policies now coming out in the name of the Democratic Party. Read the article and see if you agree or disagree with his position. Read his article and see who spoke more by fact than not. The fact Klarman said he was speaking from facts that anyone could fact check and then said that violent insurrectionists on Jan 6 resulted in the deaths of officers was as much a fabrication as anything. He lost his position of fact and truth teller with that first position. I find Turely as well reasoned when he is discussing legal or constitutional matters. You can disagree but only after you read what he writes. I gave the link. He has various articles there everyday. Each day brings a new one or two. You can read and decide. mspart

How are presidents elected? They are not elected by the popular vote, although that can be an indication. They are elected by state electors. So it was not the closest election in the 21st century. If she wanted to make that statement, she could have said it was the closest popular vote in the 21st century. But it certainly wasn't in terms of electoral voting. I don't say she lied. But she is weaving a narrative that has nothing to do with presidential politics. So who is being disingenous? mspart
