Ya I cooked the steak in tallow I make …. And then cooked the eggs in same cast iron. I made some fried potato’s where I par boiled them and crisped them up in butter and another cast iron on the grill. And sautéed up a bunch of red bell pepper and onions. Avacado weren’t ripe so I skipped that.2 points

Palacio may have an anti-PSU bias, but he's not a dummy and he wouldn't be confused by a year-old story about a guy with a common name, in a different state and with a different biography.2 points

I'm not a fan of the "1 year window of time" and "2 year window of time" stuff. That's just a way to assure inaccurate results by self-imposed blinders. Better to just pick a point in time, and say who's best P4P as of that time, based on what's known at that time. As of now, you have to say Jax, since he won the bracket Blaze was in, and mowed through the best the country has to offer (except Vito). The weekend before Seniors, I'd have said Blaze. After next weekend, there may be a different answer, if Blaze, Duke or Bassett make deep runs that equal what Jax did. I'm also not a fan of looking back at losses 2 and 3 years ago, when we know the kid has made leaps and bounds since then. If you're having a "who had the best overall high school career, 9th to 12" conversation, then sure, it's fair to trot out old loss. But if we're talking who's best P4P, it's irrelevant. For example, Blaze's loss to Jax in 2022 is meaningless to me given how different they are now, and considering Blaze won the WTT challenge tournament last fall. Jax's lost to Vargo as a sophomore (who he teched a week later) is meaningless when he just teched his way through the US Open over the best in the country. We're living in a crazy time, where some of the best high schoolers of all time are all competing at the same time.2 points

Only reason Yianni is "hot/cold" is because of the numerous injuries and surgical recoveries he's endured that doesn't get mentioned the way others injuries are... When Yianni is healthy I believe he's one of the best in the world around 65/70 and we know that because he's beaten world champions and has a world silver. I have full confidence in Yianni if he's healthy.2 points

You won’t be unhappy. I love to add some garlic. Shallots. Thyme. Sometimes rosemary. And baste the steaks with the ghee when searing. Especially post sous vide. deglaze with something. (White wine or stock )… add some more liquid. (Usually stock) scrape down the good good fond gunk off the bottom. Reduce. Emulsify with something. (Mustard or butter) and now you got yourself a good sauce. make a nice compound butter. Traditional Matre d butter does well…. Or any other is probably fine.1 point

Oldie but a goodie. We need tolls just to build these roads. Then we’re done. Their political slogan was “toll free in 73” That was over 50 years ago https://www.illinoispolicy.org/growth-in-tollway-revenue-shows-illinois-never-planned-on-keeping-its-freeway-promise/ the gov is wasteful in ways I don’t think we will ever understand. Even with doge. They move the tax goalpost ever so slightly year over year to make this years feel minimal…. But the reality is they are going to keep going until they tax the country into oblivion. It won’t occur over a year. It won’t occur during one specific administration but there is no end to their nonsense. Illinois is #2 in gas tax behind good old Cali just and just raised the tax again. I think we’re top ish in property and combined state taxes too …. No end in sight as we are STILL paying hundreds of millions for bidens illegal alien scheme and they are asking to raise property taxes in Chicago / cook county specifically for that…. AGAIN. don’t sit here and tell me it’s for “schools” either. Chicago public schools are shyte. Yes we need schools but this joke of a public school system is not the utopia anyone thinks it is. https://www.illinoispolicy.org/report-illinoisans-pay-nations-highest-combined-state-local-taxes/#:~:text=Illinoisans average %2413.1K in taxes%2C highest burden in U.S.&text=A move to Iowa%2C the,%2479%2C004 U.S. median household income.1 point

Nowadays, it only seems like people care when this kind of stuff happens to the common man. It doesn't prevent you from being a politician, movie star, athlete, president, etc anymore. People go "oh my gosh, that's weird" and then move on as if nothing happened. Now, if you're working a 9-5, expect to be fired and divorced.1 point

Hope both men have successful surgeries. Prayers up. The Latona's have been a part of VT wrestling for nearly a decade. Everyone knows Sam, but his older brother Dom started wrestling at VT in 2016. The Brothers have always been hard working, humble and selfless. Sam sacrificed a couple years with a severe cut to help VT get the best lineup on the mat. Nice to see the family receive a wonderful gift from Coach Robie. VT Wrestling Tweet1 point

I was wondering if Masoumi would jump levels, given his age and weight class. What gave me trepidations was that he didn't look like the great past immature super heavyweight who were either thin-stringy teenish or soft with baby fat. Masoumi has the body and mass of a mature male, and he's had that for a while now. I think the question is more now if Masoumi has a bad match up against Zare, or is he a tier below the creme de la creme tier of international 125kg ers? We'll never see him against taha now, but my guess is he'd be competitive against Geno. Zare was an absolute nightmare for Gwiz, and Gwiz had respectable matches against everyone else. So there is precedent for Zare's style being unusually difficult for some wrestlers.1 point

My vantage point is less than ideal, but I'm making it work. I was watching for Lockett's action to score there and couldn't see where the OOB was, which led to me calling the action vs. knowing when the spike occurred. When I could finally see a replay, along with everyone else, I then saw what the situation was. I didn't call it correctly as it happened, since I was still going with the action was in the zone. I felt like I talked the viewer through the process pretty well, but the fact it was OOB and I was unaware of that as it happened, definitely complicated things.1 point

Lockett is down 1-2 in second. wow — behind quad pod but could not get Garzon down. Desperation tries to pick him up and over but no go. Garzon bends down and grabs Locket’s feet and basically drives Lockett down on head. Way OOB. Lockett seems a bit stunned. (BTW - earlier Locket got out of a single leg by jumping away and his shoe came off …. No penalty for this in freestyle? Seems like a ‘tactic’ that could be used)1 point

He somehow looks like a guy in an old-timers tournament who is smoking a dart about 30 minutes before he's about to Wrestle and then Wrestling like he's taking it about 60% serious and trying to not gas out. I'm still unsure how Slay beat him. He also looks like he SHOULD be physically controlled by a guy like Joe Williams. I mean, I get strength of just one aspect of Wrestling, but...it IS a pretty important one. He is so so damn slick, calm, under control at all times. Thanks. Euro's and 86, not 85. But he was still about 80KGs at the weigh-ins. I believe the majority of his losses came vs other Russians. Peak Burroughs vs peak Saitiev would have been a fun matchup. It seems to me JB's style of Wrestling would have been MORE conducive to beating him than others. That blast double rather than getting in on a single and having to finish given his ability to scramble out of it. *I'm NOT comparing their Wrestling credentials or who was the better Wrestler. Just the best version of JB vs Saitiev.1 point

I don't know Storely, but Gross seems like he's got a personality that is particularly suited to work with kids and HS Wrestlers. I'm also more inclined to go with guys who just did things a bit different than guys who were just hammers and had freakish athletic ability(though Kolat is an exceptional coach). So Gross, Askren...a guy like Gomez who teaches kids to just go for it(and then they can go to a College where the College coaches teach the kids to go for it juuuust a little bit less often, particularly when you're getting in on and the legs and dominating the match)...Andronian. Those types. It's the Scoring+Fun+Hard work ideology that I think is great for kids. I see this kids...and I've seen it in my own Family(even 20+ years ago) where you have kids who are good, but a Dad is just out there SCREAMING at a kid and he loses and that kid gets all emotional and then they run off. I had a couple uncles like that. Guys who won a few JV Matches and now they're treating the Hilltopper Classic, School Boy 110 LB weight class like the 54th Olympiad. I've seen a few of them quit, a few just melt down in big matches later on, I've seen it with other kids. My Dad and Coaches...they MIGHT ask what I learned after saying good job. My Dad probably not even that, just 'what do you want to eat on the way home.' So yeah, I think a coach that does NOT emphasize results until you're in HS is the BIGGEST criteria. I feel like this should also just be a blanket statement or rule for kids at all levels and also common sense, but for some reason(parents wanting to live vicariously through their sons) it's not...1 point

125: Troy Spratley 133: Richie Figueroa 141: Tagen Jamison / Casey Swiderski / Cael Hughes 149: Casey Swiderski / Tagen Jamison / Teague Travis 157: Ladarion Lockett / Teague Travis / Casey Swiderski / Tagen Jamison 165: Alex Facundo / Ladarion Lockett 174: Zack Ryder / Alex Facundo 184: Brayden Thompson / Zach Ryder 197: Cody Merrill / Brayden Thompson 285: Konner Doucet / Cody Merrill So that plan would basically move Cael Hughes to the bench in favor of adding Brayden Thompson to the lineup - with everyone in between bumping down.1 point

This board had argued this time and again majority of fans don’t like freestyle majority of athletes don’t like freestyle. most “wrestling” Americans don’t care if we do better in worlds or Olympics and we’re already a world power so there isn’t much more we can improve on the world stage I posted #s to back both up last summer maybe. Not going to look up the thread….. very very small % of wrestlers make it to the wtt level. You’re ruining a sport for more athletes for a few more / better medals. It’s selfish on the freestyle peeps part. pretend this is in caps: you already have a freestyle season. Use it. you don’t have to wrestle folkstyle if you want to be a oly champ… you just can go to Colorado or a rtc no one is stopping the super elite from being super elite. Freestyle is everywhere. Go wrestle it if you want to. leave folkstyle alone. You will ruin it for 85+% of the fans.1 point

And when they added multiple turns and when they added step outs. Techs are a lot easier to come by in Freestyle. I love almost everything about the current freestyle rules, but I would personally like to see us go back to one turn and then you have to change holds. We got to see a lot more great wrestling IMO1 point
