Charade for what?? What is he doing it for?? You think he WANTS to sink the USA and its economy?? This is what I don't get...all you people who blindly hate Trump think he has some ulterior motive to the things he does...why? If you honestly believe he does, prove it...with facts, not partisan talking points that can't be proven. I don't like Trump's personality and don't like some of his policies, but I just don't get the oppose every single thing he does no matter what attitude versus waiting and seeing what happens in the end. For example, jumping up and down as the dow fluctuates on a daily basis is foolish...and really quite dumb. I'm no expert on tariffs or the economy, but even a simple person knows that this a long game approach not a light switch thing.5 points

With Dean Peterson and Leo DeLuca onboard, I wonder if Cruz would care enough to transfer again to a place where he can start. He'd be an upgrade for most teams out there.5 points

Rumor on the swimming forums is that he has no desire to return and would rather spend his precious hours with his wife Wendy Peffercorn who was his childhood lifegaurd. They are happily married and only have 5 kids5 points

125: Eddie Ventresca 133: Dillon Campbell or Aaron Seidel 141: Tom Crook (guilty as charged) 149: Ethen Miller 157: Caleb Henson 165: Rafael Hipolito 174: Gage Wright or Colin Gaj 184: Ryan Burton 197: Sonny Sasso 285: Jim Mullen3 points

Last I heard about Caleb's freestyle career was 70 KG was next if/when fully healthy so 157 would make sense. I think Hipo can go 165 he's strong as an ox. Church isn't getting any bigger, if anything he'll wait his turn back down at 157. Weird pick up though still need a 184. At least we're doing something maybe?3 points

The initial question was about Cruz who is also buried on the depth chart. Nobody ever insinuated Iowa was losing starters or future contributors.3 points

I thought one of the ideas was that matside weigh-ins would be in singlet, maybe even with the shoes on....weigh-in, go wrestle....3 points
-
Your question is so fundamentally basic and simple. The answers you get will either 1) point to logistics difficulties, 2) worry about too many forfeits, or 3) in a subtle way defend weight cutting. My perspective - there is no good answer. The scales should be matside. Weight in can occur when on double deck. Fosters wrestling at a more natural weight.3 points

As a West Virginia, thrilled to get Gill. Our lightweights have been pretty disastrous if you don’t count Jett who’s going back to 133 where with a full offseason will be better suited.2 points

Honestly? If Henson has aspirations in MFS, he needs to think of going 157lbs, to prepare for 74 KG (~163lbs). I don't see him making 65 KG unless he takes a year off to shrink his body - much like Retherford did after he graduated. I would be okay seeing Henson or Miller anywhere from 149-165 and Hipo at 157/165lbs. This puts Church out - unless he heads up to 174lbs, which would put Wright out - unless he heads to 184lbs. Imagine Church doing 141 - 165 - 184 I don't actually see Henson going 165lbs, though. Not with Monster Mitch there. Edit: Until the season started, Ethan was slotted in at 149lbs and his brother was slotted at 157lbs (up from 141lbs). The most logical option might be Miller - Henson - Hipo in that order.2 points

Appears that Ethan Miller is headed to Virginia Tech. Curious how the weights work themself out on that one.2 points

His brother (Jacob Decatur) was a 3x Top 4 and 1x D3 Champ. Jordan was the 'get' in recruiting. Jacob was forever going to be an undersized D1 125lber.2 points

If we don't refer to Thompson as 'Ole Frenchie' by the end of this saga, for the remainder of his wrestling career, I will be disappoint. That is my expected progression from this thread.2 points

Be vigilant about any drastic weight loss attempts. Attended my 50-year high school reunion. The lightweight guys that had plastic suits, spit cups and starvation diets all look horrible. They look twenty years older than they are, bent over, joint pain etc. beyond a typical 68 year old. Let your son eat, grow and burn energy. When needed, 3-5 pounds over time can be accomplished safely. He has a long life ahead of him, good luck. Just an old fart observation.2 points

If we are playing fantasy then I'd bring in Arujau for the lighter weights. Has a style that compliments Taylor2 points

I mean he didn’t say he couldn’t coach either. His example of a “floor” was Chertow who ran very successful camps, so seems like he could coach too. Overall I’d actually agree with the comment that Spratley didn’t really jump levels. Since people are citing examples the best example of that is probably beating Strickenberger last year but then losing to him twice this year. He was able to peak at the right time though, Gilman may have helped with that but that could have been also more driven from Taylor2 points

Sadly most of the left would rather see Trump fail no matter the cost. They can’t get over the fact THEY CREATED HIM. Woke progressives are why Trump even exists and it eats them alive.2 points

You're right. A president from 25 years ago and a disgraced member of a figurehead royal family have more power than the current president, and both branches of the legislature which are controlled by the president's party, and the law enforcement agency in possession of the files, also controlled by the president.1 point

This makes no sense. The 'fake out' happened on a podcast. You couldn't have possibly been faked out without listening to the podcast with the 'fake out'. So which is it? Were you faked out by the podcast announcement, or does your full life prevent your from listening to podcasts?1 point

Ferrari's always going to be Ferrari, but I respect that he's trying to dial it back and at least stay out of trouble. He had all season to implode, and it didn't happen. At NCAAs, won and lost with class. Hope it works out at UNC.1 point
