Great showing by the men's free team. 10 of 10 in the semis is great. 1 of 10 getting gold is a bummer, but then again, 9 of 10 came away with medals. My quick take. Lilledahl: Kid is just so cool and consistent. Have we ever had anyone get 4 straight age group world medals? Second win in a row over the Russian who just took 2nd at Russian Nats. A+ Blaze: I thought he'd take gold, but the kid from Japan, Ono, is something special. Slick ankle pick. Wouldn't be surprised to see him as Japan's senior rep at 61kg Worlds. Blaze was otherwise his usual self, stingy on D and opportunistic on O. Bo: Fun to see his high-paced style translate to freestyle success. Probably gave up more points than anyone but also scored more than anyone. His wide-open style makes him beatable in a style where one mistake can enable your opponent to rack up a bunch of points. Not reading too much into his semis loss as gave up a very tight gut position on a TD, and it was game over. Duke: Despite his semis loss he was one of the most impressive. Great attacks from so many positions. Reminds me of Dake. Before this weekend, when was the last time he lost? LaDarion: Kozak is eating crow right now for predicting a DNP finish. C'mon Jon, LaDarion literally teched Shapiro, last year's U20 champ, who beat all these guys! (j/k. Love Kozak's work.) But really, LaDarion looked outstanding, and his 3-3 finals loss was to an Iranian who's been wrestling at a really high level. (What's up with crowding the center though? What US coach is teaching that? Ticked off the Iranian, that's for sure.) Barr: Did way better than I thought he would. Techs to the finals, and held his own against the reigning Russian National champ. Don't see how PSU can sit this kid. Mirasola: Reminds me of a less polished Jake Varner. Semis match was tough to watch... I wanted to slap his opponent for being such a baby, then Mirasola played "can't touch me" for the last 15 seconds and got dinged. Bronze match wasn't very pretty. I see the upside but he could use a redshirt. Rademacher: OK, where the heck did this kid come from? Is this the same kid who got teched by Beard, and got majored by a half-dozen guys last year for Oregon State? Looked strong and polished in all his matches. Can't ding him for losing to a sr. world champ in the semis. Keuter: At first I thought he looked like Ivan Drago, but then I realized that with his upright style he wrestles like what Terry Brands would look like if he were 100 pounds bigger. Anyway, huge props to this kid, who looked very solid, and despite losing in the finals he gave that mountain of an Iranian a closer match than any other American has been able to give him.5 points

Ohio State will have 2 different teams. Pre-Christmas OSU 125 - Kilkeary + McCrone 133 - Bouzakis + Davino 141 - Mendez 149 - D’Emilio + Cannon 157- Gallagher 165 - Hepner 174 - Welsh 184 - Rogotzke 197 - Shumate 285 - Feldman Post Season OSU 125 - Kilkeary 133 - Bouzakis 141 - Mendez 149 - Cannon 157- Sasso 165 - Kharchla 174 - Welsh 184 - Rogotzke 197 - Shumate 285 - Feldman i see Kharchla and Sasso coming in second semester and taking 157 and 165. The two weights I have the least confidence is 125 and 149. I could see coaches sending 125,149,157 and 166 to the southern scuffle to finalize those weights for the post season.1 point

Nothing is protected if the lefties want something else more. Conservationist greenies have met their match in climateer greenies. The fems are learning this the hard way now that chicks have lost their special status to the transits. You’re special and a protected class until someone specialer than you comes along.1 point

I'm saying that if USA Soccer wants to consistently compete with Brazil, France, etc... they need to get those guys who become elite football, basketball, and baseball players. In our culture that ain't happening very often. I guarantee you it does in San Paulo or the suburbs of Paris.1 point

Nothing to be ashamed of in Kueter’s match with Iran. 4-2 for Iran but it was a good match. Iran is a top 3 heavyweight in the world behind Petri and Zare.1 point

That 8-2 loss by Barr was about as close a loss as you can get with the points total being 8-2. Common theme is that the Russo gents and Eastern Europeans will let the American's wrestle themselves in to a hole and happily stall themselves to a victory.1 point

This. The article is clearly referring to the podcast, which only referred to recently. So no issue with that. If they tried to get Keckeisen however, yes that would be Iowa-level.1 point

Has anyone taught Mirasola how to act in last 20 seconds when winning? That disengage and run to the center thing seems logical but doesn’t pass the smart acting thing. Don’t get me wrong, stupidly screwed, but he could have acted WAY smarter in those final seconds.1 point

Is this too far-fetched? Year in and year out, the very best, biggest, and strongest male athletes in New Zealand play rugby. They excel at rugby. Year in and year out, the best, biggest, and strongest male athletes in France play soccer. They excel at soccer. Year in and year out, the best, biggest, and strongest male athletes in India play cricket. They excel at cricket. Year in and year out, the best, biggest, and strongest male athletes in the USA play American football and to some extent, basketball. You get the idea... Our biggest and best ain't playing soccer which is why the USA is just ok on the world stage. There are great athletes playing for Team USA, but we are not sending our nation's best like France and Brazil are. If our very best grew up playing halfback on the soccer pitch instead of halfback in Pop Warner leagues, USA soccer would be in the mix every year. One could very much make the argument that our very best female athletes ARE playing soccer, which explains American success in world-level soccer.1 point

Appreciate the question. Greco is actually my #1 preference, but at this point I kind of roll with the tide.. That said, I’m going to introduce all three styles, and I would say I’m going to focus probably 70% on our feet. Particular with the younger groups it’s going to be more about fundamental movement and skills rather than a bunch of technique. In my area, you don’t hear much about, or see, the seven basic skills; the 3x5; and stuff like that.1 point

is that anything like saying... and i quote: This is the next arc of the argument put up by conservatives. Still the same old song and dance, 'think of the women'. Not that, I imagine, you cared much about them before. Now that you have a 'common enemy' you get behind the cause of women. Shockingly disingenuous but also not surprising. I don't have to talk about this any more. I'll just let things play out. They will go the way of my opinions. There is not doubt in my mind. Its a guarantee. So I'll just leave you to squirm and yell into the void.1 point

You haven't made it clear how anyone or anything is being infringed. No. Again, don't talk for a group of people for which you are not 100% certain are in agreement with your statement. Using the term 'vast majority' is so broad that it might as well be useless in this situation. Besides, XY people have been using womens' bathrooms and likely without anyone being the wiser. Which leads me back to a question I asked in previous posts, how do we determine who gets to be allowed because its already happening and how do we go about it? Genital checks at the door? Do XY people that can easily pass as female get a free pass? Where as XYs that don't quite fit the 'female' model that you have in your head, do they get turned away? Because like I mentioned before predators have and will continue to try to find ways to do what, I think you feel, trans women are trying to do. Firstly, trans women aren't. They're just trying to go to the bathroom. Your concern for predators being predators, I agree is a legit. That in no way justifies your conclusion that if trans women are allowed to use their preferred bathroom unencumbered, and again they already are in many cases, that it has or will lead to increased risk to XX people in womens' bathrooms/locker rooms. Explain to me the right to the use of one bathroom vs another or that certain people are not allowed in certain rooms that others are clearly allowed into for arbitrary reasons? Because that's what it sounds like your saying. Is it that XY people just can't be trusted in certain or all situations and need to be confined to their own areas for the greater good? Cuz I can see you trying to make that case. To your last paragraph: how is that at all a thing? Where is your right to use or share a bathroom? What freedom is that? Bathrooms are provided to you by law for convenience and/or emergency. You have no right to use or have one set aside for certain people based on sex or gender. Disability, sure. But you being comfortable as has been said in many 'freedom' or 'rights' conversations is not the concern of law makers. Go to the bathroom somewhere else or just get over it. If you are actually threatened. Then you might have a case. But your fever dream of what could happen is not enough. We have the worst case scenario of the gun control debate happening in our schools DAILY and no one on the conservative side is worried about feelings or comfort, obviously. And definitely not about safety or saving lives. Where does personal liberty start and end with regards to who is allowed in a public bathroom? This is a solution without a stated problem other than 'it gives me the willies'. No actual cases or trends that would lead anyone to believe what you're saying is actually a problem. If you're hoping to stop this problem before it starts you are OTHERISING them and you're telling these people you do not care if they live or die. Because that's what happens to vulnerable populations when they are hung out to dry. The get hurt or they hurt them selves at an alarming rate. Look it up. I'll give you a hand, 'Results: Trans and Other students had significantly higher rates of self-harm ideation and peer self-harm, in comparison to cis-gendered students. These Trans and Other students reported significantly higher rates of bullying and self-reported depression and significantly less support from teachers and staff at school, in fact these students did not know where to go to access help.' It doesn't stop when you leave school. I hope you know that. Especially if opinions like yours continue to be prevalent in society.-1 points

Can I ask where do you get your information on the topic of trans people? Their health concerns and needs? What their lives have been and are currently like? Not gotcha questions, seriously wondering. Because I've offered links to NIH papers and articles about how vulnerable people, especially youth, of this group are and have been. Does it bother you at all that forcing this group from being allowed into society, puts them in danger(like other groups in the past black, asian, gay)? Or do you not think the danger of bowing to their needs is greater than keeping them where they are now? Honestly try to answer those questions. No judgement if you don't even post them. Not interested in debating stats or anything. Just curious where you get your information. I think we've talking past each other for awhile and I'dl like to understand where you are coming from.-1 points
