Nothing burger. She didn’t ‘omit slavery’ as a lot of the headlines read. She spoke to a bigger picture of issues, of which yes slavery was a big part of. But she didn’t in anyway imply slavery wasn’t a cause. People just scrounging…3 points

Through the first 6,793 individual bouts wrestled this season between D1 vs. D1, the percentage of matches ending in a fall is 15.15%. Compared to the first 6,925 bouts last year, the percentage of falls was 15.97%. I used the same stop point (just before Collegiate Duals), since I did this about two weeks ago. MDs were 20.04% compared to 16.61% the year before and TFs were 15.72% this year, compared to just 6.4% last year. The number of Medical Forfeits last year was 242. This year, it's a total of 164, with 57 medical forfeits and 107 "countable" medical forfeits. Average Dual meet score last year was 29.1-9.25. This year, the average dual score is 32-9.052 points

brother I don't care about X as a matter of principle - I view it purely as a matter of utility. It is a very common place for news to be shared. I might think the most common. I follow as many wrestling sources as I can find (combined with other interests like economics, regional food items, as well as lost cities). It's pretty wild. You can follow whatever you want, but for me its a news aggregator among my core interests2 points

and don't forget the number of matches ending in pinfall was 0.0000% (carried out to 4 decimal places for the data types) just like last year and everyone knows this.1 point

They have admitted that covering 45 in the way they did may have been a little bias towards sensationalism because no one had seen a legitimate candidate like him. No news organization pushed anything down our throats. They were reporting on things happening in the world. At the time there were reports that fb took essentially rupels for ads for 45 and against Biden. Russia was working to influence the election and many of the safeguards you would hope to be in place to stop it, weren't. Even in its simplest form. He did collude with Russia. By announcing on camera that russia should look into Hillary's emails. That is requesting the assistance of a foreign gov't to help him. That russia didn't give a thumbs up before they hacked her organization(which they did shortly after his request) doesn't take away from the fact that he asked. But, you say, you can't take that seriously, he was just joking. How do you determine that? Which are jokes and which are out of context for him? Should he be allowed to grab people by the p? Should we 'knock the crap' out of anyone yelling at a rally that we don't like? Should we 'fight like hell' so we don't lose our country? Who do we fight? To what end should we fight? You're arguing on behalf of a 'man' who doesn't choose his words that carefully and knows full well that talking about enemies or opponents the way he does will insight some people to act violently. Or... Or... He DOES choose his words carefully and is doing it on purpose. Either way you seem to be fine with someone who is too dumb to know the difference or is smart enough to say things the right way to get away with supporting violence towards his opponents. That should be a deal breaker but isn't for some reason. Have you asked yourself why?(I'd love an answer to this question) But you're going to say, 'when speaking to a group of any size there will be some moved to violence no matter what.' That may be true. That is why you make your words and thoughts clear that under no circumstance is it ok to be violent. Which he DOES. NOT. DO! Lying and telling a crowd he'll pay for an attorney if/when you assault someone on his behalf is not being careful to prevent violence. You might also be saying, 'but this is just a response to him being attacked first.' That's bs. That is a battered partner's reaction to the cops coming to the door. There is no excuse for riling up a crowd with false allegations of election fraud, promoting a violent reaction as a way to fix it, and then telling them they need to fight like hell to keep their country/freedom. He's a trapped rat afraid to go to prison and for the reasons above as well as many more I hope that's right where he finds himself in November, if not earlier.1 point

****Editor’s Note: The original version of this article ran in April of 2023 after Luke Lilledahl committed to Penn State. *** Earlier this week, the Nittany Lions received a verbal commitment from Wyoming Seminary’s Nathan Desmond, the #17 overall recruit in the Class of 2025. He joins #1 PJ Duke, #27 Dalton Perry, and #42 Asher Cunningham in PSU’s recruiting class for current juniors. With a monster signing class on the horizon for 2024 and another potentially loaded one for 2025, it seemed the appropriate time to talk Penn State recruiting. The 2024 class features six of the top 15 wrestlers in the land. #1 Lilledahl, #3 Joseph Sealey, #5 Connor Mirasola, #6 Zach Ryder, #13 Cole Mirasola, and #15 Mason Gibson. On paper, it looks like one of Cael Sanderson’s best yet. As you can see, those wrestlers have a lot of work ahead of them to take that title from the Class of 2014. We also have to throw the 2023 group in the mix. That group was ranked third overall in InterMat’s recruiting rankings and there’s a chance it could have an impact on the Nittany Lion lineup in 2023-24. With the injury to All-American Shayne Van Ness, it appears as if Tyler Kasak is the guy at 149 lbs. Also, the constant uncertainty around 125 lbs, may give way to Braeden Davis finishing the season as the starter. If and when that happens, we can start comparing 2023 to the rest of Penn State’s classes under Sanderson, as shown below. ***Below is what ran in April regarding past PSU recruiting classes*** On Monday afternoon, Luke Lilledahl the #2 overall recruit in the high school Class of 2024, gave a verbal commitment to Cael Sanderson’s Penn State Nittany Lions. With Lilledahl’s commitment, Penn State now has verbals from four of the top-seven juniors in the nation and six of the top-15. Should all follow through and sign with Penn State, it would become one of the most star-studded in recent years. Just how good? Well, we’ll have to wait for another four or five years down the line to say for sure, but it has the potential. Below are the recruiting classes for Penn State since Cael Sanderson has been at the helm (spring of 2009-present). They have been sorted in order of best collegiate results first. As you can see, the top class of the Cael-era was 2014 which boasts a pair of three-time national champions and looked pretty darn tough back in 2014 with half of the top-six signing with Penn State. 2014 #4 Jason Nolf (Kittantiny, PA), #5 Nick Nevills (Clovis, CA), #6 Bo Nickal (Allen, TX), #54 Shakur Rasheed (Longwood, NY), #93 Gary Dinsmore (Hunterdon Central, NJ), Anthony Cassar (Montgomery, NJ) All-Americans: 5 National Champions: 3 Multi-Time Champs: 2 Other: Hodge Winner (Nickal) 2009 #1 David Taylor (St. Paris, OH), #5 Ed Ruth (Harrisburg, PA), #7 Jake Kemerer (Hempfield, PA), James English (Central York, PA) All-Americans: 3 National Champions: 2 Multi-Time Champs: 2 Other: Hodge Winner (Taylor x2); Set foundation for Penn State’s dominance 2018 #2 Aaron Brooks (North Hagerstown, MD), #11 Michael Beard (Malvern Prep, PA), #12 Roman Bravo-Young (Sunnyside, AZ), #16 Gavin Teasdale (Jefferson-Morgan, PA), #20 Joe Lee (Evansville, IN), 22 Seth Nevills (Clovis, CA), #34 Brody Teske (Fort Dodge, IA), #82 Jack Davis (Wyoming Seminary, PA) All-Americans: 3 National Champions: 2 Multi-Time Champs: 2 Other: Most of class still active; Beard/Teske/Nevills currently with other programs 2013 #2 Zain Retherford (Benton, PA), #27 Matt McCutheon (Kiski Area, PA), #47 Garett Hammond (Chambersburg, PA), #70 Cody Law (Forest Hills, PA) All-Americans: 1 National Champions: 1 Multi-Time Champs: 1 Other: Hodge Winner (Retherford x2) 2019 #9 Carter Starocci (Cathedral Prep, PA) All-Americans: 1 National Champions: 1 Multi-Time Champs: 1 Other: Still active; Possibility for 5 national titles 2011 #1 Morgan McIntosh (Santa Ana, CA), #3 Nico Megaludis (Franklin Regional, PA), #105 Luke Frey (Montoursville, PA), #109 Jordan Conaway (New Oxford, PA), #112 Collin Campbell (Roxboro, NC) All-Americans: 3 National Champions: 1 Multi-Time Champs: 0 Other: 2017 #6 Brady Berge (Kasson Mantorville, MN), #9 Nick Lee (Evansville, IN), #20 Jarod Verkleeren (Hempfield, PA) All-Americans: 1 National Champions: 1 Multi-Time Champs: 1 Other: 2016 #1 Mark Hall (Apple Valley, MN), #2 Nick Suriano (Bergen Catholic, NJ), #5 Mason Manville (Wyoming Seminary, PA), #47 AJ Nevills (Clovis, CA) All-Americans: 2 National Champions: 2 Multi-Time Champs: 1 Other: Both of Suriano’s titles came with other programs 2015 #3 Vincenzo Joseph (Pittsburgh Central Catholic, PA), #59 Kellan Stout (Mt. Ok . We will go slow here. Jimmy Carter the man was a good man. DID I say anything different? OK. I was very critical of President Carter and his Advisors decision to put a grain embargo on Russia. By putting a grain embargo on Russia to punish them he also punished the American farmer. They put Zero thought into how their decision might adversely affect the thousands of farmers across America. Did you actually read what I wrote? Have you ever read up on how devasting the Farm Crisis of the 80"s was? There were no policies put in place to stabilize the prices or to compensate farmers for their loses. Interests rates went sky high and money was frozen by lending institutions. So President Carter and his advisors were big contributing factors to the Farm Crisis of the 80's. Like many of the other farmers who lost their farms I also lost my farm. I don't expect you to understand. You did not experience it and It did not affect you or any one you know in any way.1 point

Yes and fair question. But they need to answer for and be held accountable to the opinions they allow on their air. That they are and have been comfortable allowing such rhetoric is a testament to their motivations. Apparently people that watch are less concerned with the motivation of the company and more concerned with how it makes them feel. They enjoy the toxic product that fox provides. Is that a good thing?1 point
-
They all fall under that category to some degree. Some more than others. CNN and MSNBC in my experience have motivation to be correct more so then the ones I did list. They make mistakes and work to correct them. By and large they are news gathering organizations that trade on their credibility. They question all parties. Try to hold all them accountable. FOX does not. Their motivation is to promote or to take down anyone that will help them make money. They all but say that in court filings that you can search for and read. Does leaving some names off a list effect the point?1 point

My take on global warming/climate change/whatever it will be called next is based on these facts....is the climate different than say 100 years ago...absolutely. Do humans cause problems for the environment because of polution....absolutely. Should we always be looking for better and different ways to get our energy...absolutely. Should there be mass hysteria that the world will come to end because of man made global warming/climate change/whatever it will be called next...NO!! People who get caught up in the hysteria...including "scientists", that may or may not have a reason for their OPINIONS...seem to pick and choose what historical data they want to use to make said OPINIONS and for certain reasons. The earth is billions of years old; thus, even taking a thousand years of data (and not including known weather data from the history of the earth as we know it) will be in no means an indication of what the weather is or isn't doing because of human polution...again, I think we as humans need to not pollute the environment as much as possible...but it's just lazy biased science to not include the WHOLE data set when providing a scientific opinion on the matter. Bottom line is there are people on both sides of this issue that make this whole topic a farse and turn it into some sort of divisive way to drive people in opposite directions....like pretty much any issue out there. So we just have to sit back and watch people get mad at each other over another stupid issue, see people glue themselves to streets and ruin works of art, and listen to idiot politicians pander to whatever crisis they can to get votes, all the while watching halfway otherwise normal people get tricked into believing things they hear from these politicians or read on the internet because those people are to damn lazy to think for themselves.1 point
