I've never seen in sports broadcasting running adds over the matches. This is absolutely terrible. This is while watching the senior nationals on roku app. Anyone else having the same issue?3 points

Mirasola hung with Hall for awhile and looked good, in the second Hall started making him pay for bad shots and blew it open. These high schoolers are really impressive3 points

they went back to the center with 7 seconds left and no one thought to tell dean that mirasola was probably gonna shoot, he hit him with a low double and dean just sort of fell over, guess he landed on his back but it was off camera.2 points

Yes. top five. And if you are already qualified and finish in top five you take a spot from someone else. So, Spencer Lee, for example, can steal a spot2 points

Now who is argueing to argue? It might not have been his Penn State debut, but Dean has gone Chrome Dome before. Cassioppi has never been 97 KG in his life. He was 250lbs at birth.2 points

As for the IRTC and IRTC-adjacent wrestlers, I think this is their status vis-a-vis an Olympic Team Trials spot: IN Joe "The Wraustler" Rau Kamal Bey (waiting in the finals) MUST WIN ONE OF THEIR NEXT TWO MATCHES: Zac Braunagel Danny Braunagel West Cathcart Danny has the toughest road, followed by West and then Zac. Zac already teched his first matchup earlier today. And now for the Airing of Grievances: 1. Flo and Track, why do you make me click that "Are you still there" link every two minutes? You are the clingy girlfriend who is not worth this much attention. See image below. 2. With regard to #1 above, I'm a Flo subscriber, so why is this hurdle in my path? At least in the before times I got to see a stupid Jake Varner youtube video about Defense Soap, but now, what purpose does it serve other than to anger your consumer base? 3. The commercials. They still interrupt. I want to see hands raised, celebrations, the coach pumping his fist, etc. By the way, why commercials? 4. The cameras were better than the Flo average but still not as good as a birthday party in 1999. 5. Whoever manned the scoring table for Mat #6 wasn't trained enough. There was no link to Trackwrestling early on and then later in the day and thus no live scoring. I had to go to the actual camera on FloWrestling to see that there were people wrestling on that mat. Surprise! 6. Why force us to toggle back and forth between Track and Flo? The bout board on Flo was useless, so I had to go back to Track to see who was wrestling. 7. At least during the matches that I watched somebody thoughtful at the table was usually kind enough to turn the camera when the action went off the screen. It didn't happen enough, mind you, but it was better than usual. 8. In the list of events on Track, you have to go to page two and then a quarter of the way down the page to find Senior Nationals. Seriously, that's insane. On the first page of events, you have a Triangular, a Middle School conference tournament, two JV "mixers," four JV invites, a JV tournament, and a JV Open. There's also a Jamboree. What the **** is a "Jamboree"? No, don't tell me. I don't want to know. You're all going to jail for that! We have to scroll through all of this stuff. Put an obvious link to the big events on the front page. This is so freaking obvious I laugh. Is there somebody at Flo sitting in a big leather chair petting a cat and chuckling evilly while thinking about the confusion this causes? "Chaos! I love CHAOS!" 9. Are you hiring.2 points

As someone pointed out on the PSU forum: 86kg Olympic team trials will have at least 5 past ,current or future Nittany Lions. DT, Brooks, Hall, Dean and Mirasola. Dean and Mirasola are all but guaranteed a spot as McFadden suffered a nasty ankle injury in his semi against Dieringer and is almost certain to forfeit out. To which we can add: 74KG will likely have around 5 or more guys associated with NLWC: Dake, Nolf, Messenbrink, maybe Zain (if he goes up), maybe Starrocci, likely "Bear Claw" and/or Facundo who are in consolation semis. 57KG: Gilman, Nico, possibly Lilledahl 65 KG: Nick Lee, Bartlett, Zain (if he descends) 97KG: Snyder 125: no one yet ... Kerklivet if he wins NCAAs Plus PSU has "home field" advantage since trials are at Penn State1 point

I'm not putting forth anything that requires evidence, so what evidence would you have liked? Every sentence written doesn't requiree evidence, however if you're making factual claims on things you don't have personal knowledge of, it's on you to provide evidence to back it up...as the election deniers have repearedly failed to do for just over three yeara now. I swear, you try so hard to sound intelligent by repeating things you've seen others say as if it's a gotcha, but you just look foolish.1 point

To us the spectator it is a product. To the wrestler it is about end of season performance. Coaches and wrestlers are not the least bit concerned what we want. Load management is the new norm especially at PSU.1 point

Lees matches have an amazing narrative advantage in terms of entertainment. You're terrified every time someone is in on his leg, cause no one wants him hurt again, but at the same time he's an absolute dragon....whether his story is a tragedy or a triumph is in the air every second.1 point

lees first td was insane, he took a bad high crotch and then just reached up and grabbed him and threw him unto his face....1 point

Yes its disgusting. Also seems to result in Roku being behind the info on phone or tablet app thus glancing at phone to see the next up match you get a spoiler score/result on the match you are watching. Plus why can't they put the mats in proper numerical order on Roku. Oh yeah ... good reminder that I need to cancel my one month Flo subscription end of Dec.1 point

I think it would be best for the Mirasola's to go 184 & 197. Mirasola the larger seems to be every bit as talented as the smaller he just wrestled up 23 pounds.1 point
-
I wonder what Cael plans to do at 184-197 next year. Kind of a rebuilding year. Mirasola the Smaller (86kg) looks like the real deal. Either weight he goes he’ll be an immediate AA threat. He’ll have the best training partners in the world, and he’s already very, very good. Wins over Wick and Dean as a high schooler. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk1 point

Every week during the 2023-24 season, the InterMat staff will submit their picks for some of the most high-profile or competitive dual meets. As the season progresses, we'll keep track of records for bragging rights or as ammunition for when we mock each other. No, we'd never do that, it's all in good fun (right?). Results through week six 21-9: Austin, Nick 20-10: Willie, Robbie, Richard, Bob D. 19-11: James 18-12: Rachel, Morgan, Tony, Dysen 17-13: Earl, Ryan 16-14: Jagger, Kevin Below are the picks for week seven (plus Collegiate Duals). One of the duals takes place this evening!1 point

I'm glad these women will get significant remuneration for the damage that was done to them. F u c k Giuliani. You and I both know for the vast majority of people, this isn't possible. They just have to believe what someone else says. I also know that you know, as important as doing the Math is, knowing what numbers to work with is at least as important. Either of us could do the Math in 90+% of the other's field, but wouldn't know what assumptions/theory to use to get to the Math. I have to believe someone's numbers in Finance, you have to believe that plane really will fly. I always remember my second year of college I had a lab partner in an EE course that asked me "Which formula do I use for this problem?" I looked at him and said "That IS the problem. Once you know that, a monkey could take it from there." Now with the computers and software available, that's even more true than it was 50+years ago.1 point

Exactly. No one knows what these numbers mean, never mind if they are accurate. Even when the numbers are disclosed people don't know what they mean. Take Shohei Otani, for example. First it was a 10 year $700 million dollar deal, but then the structure was revealed and it was counted as a 10 year $460 million NPV deal. But even that isn't correct. Their NPV calc is based on all the deferred money being paid in 10 years. But only 1/10 is paid in 10 years. The point is never trust the headline number, never believe the rumored number, and never trust someone else to do the math for you.1 point
