  1. Like I said, I don’t hate you and I’m not going to resort to name calling. I can tell you with confidence that the only filter that will work for an aerosolized virus will require a pump for you to breathe through. Surgeons wear masks to protect the patients, not themselves. Go read some more.

  2. I don’t hate you either. But for reasons only you can know, you argue with people about things you don’t know. Is woke Marxist? Is an AR15 an assault rifle? Does AR stand for assault rifle? I remember other cases but not the specifics. Then you try to grasp for credibility asking: does anyone take these guys seriously? It might be you that is not taken seriously because you’ve been shown to be wrong so often. My suggestion that you should google is because there is information out that shows you wrong on, in my estimation, 60% or more of your conspiracy theory list. I’m not going through it all, but masks are useless for aerosolized virus. This was known before covid. The only way you can begin to get better information will be to abandon those outlets that promised you collusion for over two years, or wait for a long time.

  6. I did. You added to it after I copied. The fact remains our country is over regulated. If you took the costs of all regulations in the US, that cost would be the third largest GDP in the world, behind the US and China, but ahead of Japan. The government does not grant rights, but it can take them away. If the government claims some legislation is “creating” rights or “protecting” rights, it means it is taking rights from one and giving them to another.

Because he’s got the US Attorney General, the DoG, the FBI, the CIA, the NY State AG, the Fulton County, Georgia DA, and the NY County DA pressing their frivolous charges and, as you say, he’s got the Presidential Pardon power. As a sitting president he can’t be indicted and probably will never be indicted. He may be impeached but it is doubtful enough democrats in the Senate will vote to convict. Even when they know he’s guilty as sin.

  10. This has been interesting reading. Deep Vein Thrombosis (blood clots) was an issue for sure with Covid vaccines. Was especially a problem for the AstraZeneca and Johnson and Johnson vaccines. Myocarditis (enlarged heart) was a real thing for Covid Vaccines for people aged 12-39. Found this info from a simple google search. I remember these issues as the pandemic was happening. But there were a lot of assurances that the risk was low. mspart

  11. Beach wrestling is the future in terms of gender equality. Women's beach instead of Greco might be happening if wrestling stays around after 2028. Wrestling, by the way, is guaranteed through the 2028 Olympics. Not sure on the IOC politics, but not a great thing that the 2032 Olympics in Brisbane are in a host country without a wrestling culture.

  18. Oh, so now you care what that racist slave owner thought? We do have an 80 year old president who imposes his sniffing on unsuspecting children. Yes, you’re right. Muskets were the “assault rifles” of the day, so the populace owning them gave them a fighting chance against a tyrannical government. The assault rifle of today is the M4, but populace is not allowed to own them. Why not? Could it be that the government has moved toward tyranny? And why is every thread turning into a gun debate? Here’s my proposal for gun reform. It’s all or nothing: 1) Legal age to purchase a firearm is raised to 25. 2) Legal age to vote in any local, state or federal election is raised to 25. 3) Exceptions to 2 and 3 for military and law enforcement. Let’s see how serious democrats are about saving “children”. If they are children and not responsible enough to own firearms, they sure as hell aren’t responsible enough to vote.

  19. These are bullshit stats, just an FYI. Issues surrounding myocarditis from vaccination are for men under 40 receiving the mRNA vaccine and it typically occurs after the second (or booster? LOL) shot. Men of this age are at no risk from virus-induced myocarditis or any other long-term sequelae. Any study claiming that virus-induced myocarditis is greater than vaccine-induced is grouping all ages and sexes together in a way to diminish the obvious signal that occurs with young men. There are lies, damn lies and Covid statistics and it seems like you didn't take the time to look into the information you are citing. Here is a layman's explanation with a link to the original study: https://sensiblemed.substack.com/p/our-new-analysis-of-myocarditis-after Mandating a vaccine to a cohort where there is a known (albeit small?) risk while the benefit is unknown, and likely small, is unethical. And the death rate is 8x higher? Come on, even the MAGAs can see through this obviously false statistic. Any report claiming that the death-rate is 8x higher is using hopelessly confounded data. The two groups being compared are obviously not equivalent and these types of studies are dismissed out of hand by honest, serious people. There is no evidence of a reduction in all-cause mortality when you pool the data for mRNA vaccine clinical studies, but there is for the viral-based vaccines. So did Bronny's heart issues stem from vaccination? Who knows? It would be difficult to know without an invasive work-up. But I can tell you one thing, if I were an administrator at USC responsible for their Covid vaccination policy, I wouldn't want to be taking a call from LeBron right about now...

  25. Your points are all well taken. Thank you for them. Maybe L.A. represents growth potential for our sport, and Hollywood's the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow (if we can win Hollywood over enough to create more wrestling programs & movies that support our sport). Many residents of L.A. are Hispanic & Asian. Our sport has made considerable progress with such demographic groups over the decades. An NCAA D1 team in Los Angeles could lure in many potential fans from relatively nearby. That could eventually help us win over Latin America for wrestling, in time to get our sport's Olympics bid renewed. We need more countries to advocate keeping our sport in the Olympics. Cuba has shown that Latin Americans can be globally competitive in wrestling. I'm not aware that any other Latin American countries have though, have they? They love their soccer... but also (at least in Mexico) their martial arts. Tae Kwon Do has has various Mexicans win Olympic medals in it, for example. Anyway, public transportation has grown considerably in L.A., but I imagine that there's much space that is not yet covered. Anyhow there's lots of Los Angeles to go around, and therefore plenty of space for hotels to emerge and drive prices down for the rest of us. Or so one would hope, anyway. The danger that you mentioned, and the mental illness etc., are major issues though. It's not fun being stabbed by someone like that. Imagine the unsanitary exposure and the resulting infection. No thanks. But can you imagine how beneficial wrestling could be to parentless youth who live with a grandparent or uncle, out there? I was kinda that kid, decades ago. I was therefore late getting a start in competitive athletics. But I was just in time to become a reasonably worthwhile wrestler in high school. For each such person who doesn't wind up in prison, because wrestling inspired that person to become productive instead, that's a significant victory. By the way, the cost of flying out to L.A. is perhaps more manageable with sufficient advanced planning. I mean various universities compete in Los Vegas during the wintertime, with advance plans made to capitalize on discounts. I don't know if I'm comparing apples to oranges, though. I used to live in L.A. but never in Vegas (although I have an ex-gal friend in Vegas who has repeatedly invited me to visit).

  31. Precisely. I don’t know why certain people want “congress to do their job and make more laws and regulations”. I swear some people would prefer it if the government would tell them when to eat and shit. If that’s what you want there are already plenty of laws to break, and you can go to prison and have the government do just that for you.

  32. I believe the UWW has been pushing for Women's Beach Wrestling in 2028 to preserve Greco. So there would be gender equity in the sport with MFS + GR for men and WFS + WB for women at 6 weight classess apiece. Women's Grappling could be another possibility since Jiu-Jitsu is on the 2024 program. I just don't have a feel for how big the sport or participation is relative to Women's Beach Wrestling, but if Jiu-Jitsu takes off in Paris there might be a pathway to Women's Grappling, slim as it may be.

  34. If MAGA members of Congress were serious about their oversight and investigative duties, there are a whole lot of big fish to investigate in addition to Hunter Biden. But the Biden’s stand in the way of Trump being RE-elected. So we’re not seeing those other investigations. We’re not seeing much meaningful legislation either. We’re seeing clown show after clown show so it stays in the news. And so many are being fooled by it they are distracted from issues that are at this point seriously more important. But….MAGA!!

    1 point
  38. Not really. You have said it repeatedly whether you want to acknowledge it or not. If not for the whistleblowers, the deal with Hunter would be over. Again that is my opinion. It is not over and I attribute that to Congress bringing on the hearing and letting the whistle blowers have their say. And it was a lot. So it is not enough for Congress is my point. They are doing what the admin won't do. I agree it is not really Congress' issue to deal with, but it otherwise was not being dealt with. Perhaps it is time for the Ds in the WH to take things seriously rather than try to save an alleged felon and letting him get away with it. Unfortunately for them, it implies wrongdoing by current POTUS so they want this hushed up as it appears you do based on your many posts on the Hunter saga. Either Joe is lying or Hunter was lying when Hunter told the chinese guy that his dad was sitting beside him and they both would be very angry if this didn't turn out like they wanted it to. And that comment is incontrovertible. Someone ain't telling the truth. mspart
    1 point
  39. But you are saying that Hunter is not worth the attention. He allegedly broke federal law and pleaded guilty to that. That means he broke more laws than what he is pleading guilty to. And his plea bargain was a sweetheart of a deal. But no more. The hearings with the whistleblowers had a lot to do with the judge's "new" direction on this in my opinion. Maybe not, but the timing is interesting. Defense and prosecutors had different ideas as to what the plea bargain was. Defense thought it meant immunity from future prosecution as well. Feds couldn't say that out loud or write it down because that means they are no longer investigating other wrong doing and that wouldn't look right to anyone. So there is a difference there. That's what I see. The whistleblowers showed that there is a lot more to this story than just the little bit in the plea bargains. The judge rightly called the plea bargain into question. That's my opinion. mspart

  44. Just my opinion but here goes 1. Very expensive hotels 2. Many dangerous neighborhoods 3. Cultural incompatibility with that of the college wrestling zeitgeist 4. Homelessness/mental illness is everpresent 5. Very little interest in wrestling among locals. Many prominent athletic high schools in the region do not even have a team. 6. Expensive flights for the majority of schools which are based east coast and Central primarily. 7. Lack of public transportation 8. City is extremely spread out and difficult to navigate 9. Although Los Angeles doesn't have full seasons, March is typically overcast and somewhat unpleasant
