  1. Gable Steveson is going to become a Campbell Fighting Camel. He likes the area and wants to give the School its first NCAA Champion. Insider sources say "forget the big programs" because he wants to wrestle on that big Camel mat.

  3. For J’den it certainly is, I’m not sure Kyle even worries about it anymore. If J’den still has goals in wrestling, he is working towards being one of the best athletes to miss out on the potential that they have. I will say, if he doesn’t still really have goals in wrestling, I hope he knows that’s OK and he can move to the next stage in life. He’s an incredibly dynamic individual who has a lot to offer the world in many ways. He doesn’t have to just sweat, diet, and wrestle.

  4. It is wrestling related. Do you think Prigozhin and Wagner have a bunch of former wrestlers in their ranks or blonde-haired disco boys from Moscow? Moreover, it would not surprise me to hear that Dagestan, the Ossetias and that whole region, which has the best wrestling in the world, will take this opportunity to gain their independence. Finally, whether these champions of the Russian Nationals will wrestle in an Olympics next year or a world championship this year probably depends on what happens in the next 48 hours. I will not post on this topic again. I've said my piece.

  5. Plainview. I lived in the panhandle briefly, so I should have known the difference.

  6. He is going to do it. They will put in a ceiling camera so when he pins opponents they can make posters to sell - kind of like photos of Cassiu Clay knocking out Sonnly Liston. They will be big sellers and will give a big boost to his career as a pro 'rassler.

  8. Went a different route last night….seared tuna steaks, diced them up still kinda rare, threw them in a rice mix for stuffed peppers, about 45 min in the smoker. Leftover tuna got an additional 20 min in, then today forged a mix for tuna melts with English muffin, tomato, and Muenster cheese. Lunch was good…

  11. Why would anyone be surprised Brands, inc would want AJ on the team no matter what he has done? After all, both of them still wrestled for Foxcatcher after DuPont murdered Dave Schultz.

  14. I don’t think anyone can honestly distinguish the differences in parenting between the countries without spending ample time in those countries to get a handle on it. You certainly compare and contrast parenting through generations here in the US. Over the course of the 2000’s I have lived in the Great Lakes region, Colorado; and South Florida. Across the board I have seen an increase in parent driven entitlement, along with a parent driven decrease in coping skills. I said somewhere on here previously, we don’t force or teach kids coping skills nearly as much anymore. We don’t force kids into pressure situations with an average or better risk of failure. And often when ‘failure’ occurs, we don’t look at where we came up short and what we can do more or better, we make excuses, blame others, and make the kids feel like it was someone else’s malfeasance, rather than doing what the most successful people in the world do, which is fail over and over until they get it right. We are raising more and more kids like this, while also allowing them to have more and more access to these social media ‘influencers’, which was never around in generations past, and then sending them out in the real world.

  15. And Georgia Tech is a very male-heavy institution as well (mentioning for Title IX reasons)

  16. If I had a magic wand to create D1 teams, I would go Georgia Tech (Georgia has really good hs wrestling) and Florida State (Florida has some elite teams, though probably not the depth that Ga has). These teams wouldn't have to travel that far to get duals since NC has a ton of D1 teams. The ACC only has 6 teams, so adding two more would make it easier for the ACC tournament. On top of that, Georgia Tech is an elite academic school.

  17. Also, funny story, a really good buddy of mine has had for a long time one of the smaller charcoal smokers and has always cast a jealous gaze over my brother and my smokers (Oklahoma Joe and Traeger pellet smokers), well his wife and kids got him a nice big Traeger pellet smoker for Father's Day....he sent a pick and said he can't remember crying that hard since he was a little kid when he saw it! LOL

  21. Oh, you know, just hoping two of you aren't big enough assholes to take cheap shots at one of our best athletes on an internet forum. One who has represented our country incredibly well and never been afraid of a challenge. Especially when at least one of you has intimate knowledge as to what these athletes have to go through to try and be the best in the world, only to get injured at the last minute.

  22. Are you saying that a ref calling a hold PD or illegal, using the correct interpretation of the rules, to "look smart" is a bad thing? If the call is the right one, I can't see how it is bad. I like looking "smart" as an athlete, as a coach, or as a ref. As long as the ref is making the correct call, I don't see what is wrong with "smart." Perhaps an example (real world) would better explain your position?

  24. I have used it circa 2007 and even taught it in the past, before the various rulings from NFHS and others. However, that was before I became an official. In my advanced age, I realize that a lot of it's effectiveness is due to the fact that it is a blood choke. I realize there are pretty good reasons when the NFHS and even PA officials release rulings.
