These refs from Iowa City?

Ferrari wrestles the whole match from one knee and the opponent gets dinged for stalling?

If Ferrari wrestled on two knees would they have dinged Dean for two stall points.  🤨

What is going on with Bailey. He should be on his way to his second title and instead he looks like he may not qualify for NCAAs

I know the stall criteria has been updated somewhat, but it just looks bad when one team gets all the calls in a dual where 9 of their wrestlers combine for 3 TDs.

I agree and no way you should be called for stalling when you are posting on opponents head because he is hanging out on his knee(s).

Not to be missed but Brands walked off without shaking ISU coaches and wrestlers hands.

Not a good look on national tv when your wrestlers do it and your assistants do it.

Take a look at the interview he just did after the match with Flo on YT. The guy is an embarrassment.

Yeah, when you are ranked #1 and you win 2-1 over the #10 guy, with an escape and a late stall point, in a match where every team point counts, you don't taunt the crowd.  You hang your head and slink off the mat.

Exactly how I feel

I think the dual is decided after the first match.  Whoever wins 125 wins the whole dual.

I kind of felt the same. Glad I was wrong. ISU not my team, but I was rooting for them today!

As a new poster here and a PSU fan please do your best to be respectful.  A) it's just a trophy B) Now we'll get 10 pages of @Interviewed_at_Weehawken going after you and I'll have to check him on his insanity even though you fired the first shot

No strong feelings.  The cyclones wrestled well. Happy for them (except Echemendia) and their fans.   My issues are generally with the hypocrisy of some bandwagon PSU fans

My guess is that he's not able to horse guys around at his new weight. Plus add in the fact Enchilada pulled down from 149 last year and is probably one of the strongest guys at 141, and Bailey was almost guaranteed to look bad yesterday.

does anyone know the most dual losses Iowa has taken in a season? 2 so far with PSU, tOSU, OKST, Nebraska

To be fair, Iowa has the toughest dual schedule this year:  tOSU x 2, Missouri, OSU x 2, Iowa State, PSU, plus the rest of their B1G foes.  That's a potential 3 non-conference losses.

He moved up 8 pounds not 25. And if Ech is pulling that hard against someone who's not then it's fair to assume that the guy not cutting as much should win the cardio battle which didn't happen last year and isn't happening this year either moving up a weight. Sorry not sorry -the common thought is this is true for anyone above 184 so surely it's the same standard for the lightweights.

Great match.   It's almost fair to say that despite the drama until the very end that Iowa State dominated.  They won decisively at 285, 133, 141, 157, and 197 (5 matches), and they pulled off a (6th win) big upset at 174.   They also only lost very narrowly at three weights: 125, 149, and 184.

Iowa (a team with 5 "mercenaries" including Peterson, Bailey, Williams, Caliendo, Endene) only showed clear superiority at one weight: 165.

And it appeared as if Iowa chose not to shake hands at the end of the match.

Very impressive showing by the Cyclones. Echemendia probably impressed me the most.

My mind is blown, well not really. But did anyone see/hear Frost has beat Paniro twice now in wrestle offs? It is a good thing and a bad thing to be deep. The Frost brothers are AA, and they are fighting to get in this lineup. 125-149 is stacked. Osmany is sitting back, wondering what happens to him. That dude is REALLY good, but he got big and he is caught in that 133-141 battle. When NIL/Portal this is where it is hard for kids to stay.

yes heard that as well during broadcast /  think we see Jacob frost in line up soon

Angelo doing that after winning 2-1 when his team needs bonus to win the dual what a tool

Is it just me, or was that ref insanely pro-Iowa?

--Wouldn't call an escape, OR stalling, when Ech was trying to let up Bailey at the end, and Bailey just sat there.  Repeatedly.

--Williams was totally exposed on his back by Zerban for like 10 seconds and weirdly the ref wouldn't count backs, so Zerban finally had to abandon the move.  Wouldn't ding Williams for stalling either despite clamming up on bottom.

--The stall call on Gaitan at the end of regulation was bogus.  Totally tried to hand the match to Iowa.

--Ferrari wins on a totally unearned stall call.  Dean wasn't doing much but Ferrari was doing even less. Again tried to hand the match to Iowa, this time successfully.

Was there even a single stall call against Iowa, besides maybe one on Bailey (who should've been stalled out)?  Objectively, ISU totally outworked Iowa in that dual outside of Caliendo, and yet the ref gives Iowa a pass while throwing all these unearned late-match stall calls against ISU.  Crazy.

The only thing that I would possibly agree with you on is the Ech-Bailey finish. If Bailey isn't going to present himself there then I think the ref should have called an escape and takedown.

Williams was close to being exposed but was closer to 90deg.

Gaitan definitely earned the stall at the end of regulation. Even Rock Harrison said it was the right call.

Ferrari initiated the only offense in the entire match. Dean did nothing offensively.

Ech did not back away just released and jumped back on I think because time was so short. Maybe Bailey for stalling not getting up    YES  YES  YES

Locked hands on Kennedy? This would be some drama, but no.

OMG. The lunger brick worked!!

Watching the replay, Kennedy definitely locked hands.  I thought it was a lung brick initially, but I really don’t think it was.

Looked like Gaitan's hands were off the mat
