Silly that PSU is still rated the #1 dual team (and I am a huge PSU homer)

Why? They'd beat Ohio State by 12 points, at least, in a dual meet. Probably by a lot more.

125 Lilledahl vs Bouzakis [coin flip]

133 Davino DEC Blaze [last meeting Davino won] 3-0 OSU

141 Mendez MDEC Nagao [could be TF or Fall even] 7-0

149 SVN DEC Stiles 7-3

157 Cannon DEC Duke [Duke's inexperience and issues making weight factor in here] 10-3

165 Mesenbrink MDEC Gallagher 10-7

174 Haines DEC Kharchla 10-10

184 Welsh DEC Fishback 13-10 PSU

197 Mirasola Dec Shumate 16-10 PSU

HWT Feldman Dec Mirasola 16-13 PSU

If Bouzakis wins he could tie or even put Ohio State ahead (a pin makes it 19-16 OSU).

The point is this would be a very close match, and Ohio State would have a real chance of winning.

So based on rankings and no bonus PSU already is projected for 118 points, and that’s with Duke not ranked and Blaze 14th?  Sheesh

  • 125: Calling that a coin flip is laughable. Could Bouzakis win, absolutely. But it's nowhere near a coin flip.
  • 133: Although I disagree, I'll let you have that one.
  • 141: TF for Mendez.
  • 149: Agree.
  • 157: Duke's inexperience? He wrestled in 3 world championships this year alone. What issues does he have making weight? He made 154 (70 kg) how many times this summer? Lmao.
  • 165: TF for MM.
  • 174: Agree.
  • 184: Agree.
  • 197: Agree. If it's Barr I see a MD.
  • 285: Agree.

I have final score 26-8 (27-8 if it's Barr).

For everyone scoffing that Lilledahl vs Bouzakis is not a coinflip:

Currently Lilledahl is ranked #1 on Intermat and Bouzakis is ranked #3.

Is it really so crazy to think a #1 vs #3 matchup is a coinflip?

Intermat has Mesenbrink #1 and Caliendo #3. Is that a coin flip?

There's a big difference between a coin flip, and one guy being a favorite and the other guy having a chance to win.

I think it’s fair to call Bouzakis/Lilledahl a coin flip.

But Duke is favored over Cannon.

Cannon is a returning AA and very dangerous on top.  Duke may be great but he's yet to wrestle in college.

Remember Mark Hall vs Alex Meyer?

Didn’t Blaze avenge his ‘23 Ironman loss to Davino twice more recently?

In Freestyle, yes.  Not in Folkstyle.
