How did he go from clowning a 2x NCAA champ in RBY to getting beat by a high schooler 2-0?  It has to be multiple severe injuries, right?

Rby didn’t know how to get into par terre.   Is he a world class free styler ?

also we know your trolling.  Vito was old ish and hurt

edit.    Not as of yet.  But All the Vito / final x threads in this (college) forum for the last few days/weeks.   Now the psu faithful will ask why is this not in the international forum and shake their fists at you like grandpa Simpson.     Ha.

Agreed 100% with you except for the old part - Vito's a year out of college. He's just entering his prime.

Fair.  He’s 26 though.   (I think?).  My body hurt long before that 😞

I called it old ish.  And not old for basically what you said.

OK - I assumed because he was ivy he was more age appropriate. Yeah - 26 ain't the same as 23 in wrestling yrs.

I may wanna verify the 26.    Being lazy.  I think it’s accurate.  My body crapped out my junior year of college.   Sport is rough on that body

26 according to UWW so he's either 26 now or will be by 12/31

He may not be aging well, but I htink he has not recovered from what ever injuries he has suffered.   It is really tough to get injured and then have enough energy to come back and perform at top level.

So you're musing that perhaps he's old instead of unrecovered from injury...:classic_dry:

[Vito] just turned 26 but has an injury that will never get better. Herniated disc in both neck and back. Makes his stance different plus he is hesitant on how he shoots wanting to avoid stingers. He will have times where he cannot raise his arm

I believe it first became an issue during his last collegiate season when he took a lot of the season off maybe at national duals? I think he mentioned in the bader interview that the hand surgery had kept him off the mat for awhile.

Yanni did look amazing until he hit the wall and gassed out, I don't think anyone is going to crush Duke at World's like Yanni did in match #1 and the beginning of match #2.

Vito was definitely off from jump street.

I was 21 when I graduated from college. Jeez.

Until your senior year, you could've asked freshmen wrestlers to buy you booze. Missed lifehack.

26 isn't old.  Burroughs is like 40 and still elite.

Burroughs turned 38 last week. But anyway.. the lowest weights have much shorter windows of success than middle to upper weights. I agree 26 isn't old, but who was the last world champion at 57kg/61kg that was 30 years old?
