It’s probably naive to think that a 37 year old dake would be better than a 34 year old but I could see him as our best rep if he grows into the weight. His ability to push for 6 minutes just did not seem to be there.

Maybe Ira will make a donation to Zahid so that he transfers to Mexico

Imagine being in your 30s and still an Atheist edgelord.  I don’t believe in God either, but holy hell, give it a rest.

His act can be funny but also a bit cringe, but...he's doing more good for people and the sport than almost anybody with his free camps program.

Really? Who is there besides Zare that's really good?

Akgul retired, Geno is taking the year off, and Massoumi can't make a team or get his transfer approved.

Who's left from the actual field? Big boring Monkhtor and grandpa Deng? Russia is mediocre at 125 kg, they don't have anyone good.

Heavyweight is not looking strong.

Oh, I didn't know Geno isn't competing this year. That helps. Let's hope Wyatt and Zare are on opposite sides of the bracket

My take on Kyle Dake is that he’s undersized for 86. I know that he is an incredible wrestler, but I believe that Zahid’s size proved to be the biggest difference in this series. My next thought is what does Dake do next, go back down or does he retire from competition and follow DT into coaching, which I would love to see.

PJ Duke, are you kidding me, wow! I thought that Yianni’s experience would prevail but obviously PJ had other plans. Congrats to him. I like the youth movement, I think it’s kind of exciting.

Mostly agree. I think Luke is just really fast not sure Spencer looked slow. I have been super pessimistic about our 74kg guys even after carr beat Takatani but he seems to be his best when the moment matters the most I do wonder how what’s going on with Ben impacted Mitchell. I do not think anyone at 79kg this year was a top 10 in the world caliber wrestler which is a shame. Wyatt is really hard to predict I don’t think any of his main international opponents present the issues Trent did but at the same time Trent is probably 0-2 bbq at worlds. I’m expecting 5 medals but I think our 2027 and 2028 teams will probably be the best we have have ever had I will add I think yianni was the better wrestler currently for 70kg and I think he would have medal’d I do not think PJ will.

For the last 7 years every time yianni loses it’s the same story , oh he was the better wrestler , oh he would ve medaled but the other guy won’t , he’s made 2 teams in 7 years and medaled once  ..every time he loses people just make the same excuses

Do you really think after those 3 matches PJ will do better against the field? If you do then I can not refute you I think yianni out wrestled him for the most but I absolutely think pj is the future.

I have no idea but I’m sure people said they same exact thing when Synder took out Varner for the spot ,PJ Duke was in high school literally last week  , he ll have the next few months to train with team USA and the NLWC and there isnt really any tape on him for people to gameplan against and I’m sure he ll wake up tomorrow more confident then he’s ever been, the sky is the limit for him right now

yianni clearly out wrestled him in match 1 but duke scored 15 straight on him in match 2 and match 3 they wrestled close until Duke pinned him off a single ,something u see in JV match so I think they were equal today if anything

not hating on yianni it just seems disrespectful to the guys that beat him that it always get written off like yianni just had an off day or something and not the other just going and taking it

Snyder looks smooth, though I'm not sure Zillmer had much for him.

Does anyone have much for Snyder domestically (at this point in time)?

I wouldn’t say those are excuses. I think Yianni looked like the better wrestler but he made some sloppy mistakes. Duke capitalized so he was the better wrestler today. I think we all just see the potential in Yianni and it’s frustrating to see him lose matches that it appears he could’ve won. Doesn’t take away from Duke at all! What he did was amazing! He’s the future here and I’m excited to see what he can do.

I doubt he would ever do this but what are the chances for 2028 he wrestles for Greece? I feel like he's a guy that if he just make the tournament anything could happen... I mean look at Rivera, no one would have guessed he was going to bring in the hardware that he did but with a lucky draw and a good day anything can happen... Yianni smoked him to when they wrestled.

I guess my point is I just want to seem him back in a world championship or Olympics to see what he could string together, he always does better oversees anyhow.

Hes kind of like the Bengals, they shoot themselves in the foot but you know when they make the playoffs they are as dangerous as anyone haha

Maybe not the right thread but what’s the story with the KD training center?  I’ve seen some people claim he’s a scammer but maybe that’s just sour grapes for some reason.

Was Duke the only PSU/NLWC guy to wear a singlet other than NLWC or TMWC?

Duke is still in high school.  Tomorrow is his last day according to his interview.

I hope everyone saw why Lilledahl will become the rep sooner than later. Lee is a medal lock as long as he is able to make the team, but I also hope we don't miss out on LL's world-level quickness during what is typically a shorter max-prime period for 57s.

i am an idiot on the internet

What scam are people saying he's running?  His former club members speak highly of him and he's had high level talent come through his club: Duke, Rocco Welsh, Jayden James, Zack Ryder.

My understanding is that KD's genius is that he is able to attract top talent and get them to push each other and train hard.

We’ll find out next year when Brooks moves up

I expect Snyder to win in 26, but I think by the time 28 rolls around I think it’ll be Brooks

He’s coached Zack Ryder, Rocco Welsh, PJ Duke and Jayden James.
