So I guess I missed this or forgot but whatever happened to Chittum?  Did he ever end up at Chattanooga?

from what it sounds like he was working out there and was likely to end up there, but as of now, he is not officially enrolled

I think Ryan Holmes said he was pretty set on going home to Chattanooga but someone reached out to him late and he wanted to at least check it out; no idea who that institution is though

To be honest with you - I don't even understand what it means in a technical sense to be in the portal.  He isn't listed there on WrestleStat, but that may not be the be-all and end-all

The portal was simple to understand than when Buchanan/Parco/Teemer moved w/o entering the portal that just opened up chaos and now nothing makes sense

Flo’s tracker still has him as Ohio State, is that definitely not happening?

The portal only allows you to be recruited by another institution. It isn't a requirement to enter to transfer. Just tells the other programs you want to be contacted.

That was his originally declared destination before it was announced it wasn't happening.  Could they be the team reaching back out? Maybe.  I have no clue.

It's a tool available for athletes to use to help facilitate the transfer, but they don't have to use it.

Do not contact means they don't want every school calling. Typically, at that point they have a good idea of where they want to go and reach out directly or let those coaches know that they want to be contacted.

He was going to be ineligible to wrestle in the Fall anyway.

Technically you can't speak to other schools if you aren't in the portal that would be considered tampering. Joining the portal also allows your team to not honor the scholarship. You can theoretically just transfer and walk on anywhere without joining the portal.

In reality none of these rules are closely enforced. If a big school wants to contact you they will. If a coach wants you off the team, you'll be off the team. "DNC's" get contacted. Portal makes it easy to organize but it's still the wild west.

When a new head coach is named they have 30 days to enter the portal.

*Reverse transfer alert*

Wrestlestat is reporting that Hogan Swenski is back on the Ohio State roster, and no longer transferred to Rider.  

We saw this last year with Sam Ewing committing to Nebraska and Max Elton committing to Lock Haven, before Donny Vinson got the Buffalo job, and both wrestlers went back to Buffalo.  

Blake Schaeffer was also reported to transfer from Kent State to Cleveland State, but with the latter school closing its program, he went back to Kent State.
