  1. Yes...going to 184. Wrestled tough against 174 Ryan Burton in freestyle
  2. They blamed Jared Haught for the lack of success that last season and complained to the coaching staff. Maybe they are happy that Haught is leaving....
  3. I also heard that he and his brother stopped wrestling after the ACCs that year and did not help in the room during the NCAA Prep for the other 9 wrestlers going to the NCAAT. Not sure if it was true or not but that was one of the rumors floating around in addition to the academic issues.
  4. Did he at all wrestle in the SERTC room last year while he was academically ineligible? I know that Gage continued to wrestle in SERTC while he was working on his grades but I didn't remember seeing TJ in the room.
  5. Why would they want to wrestler for lesser men?
  6. Gage Wright (174lbs) gone from VT's roster...
  7. A lot of programs probably think it's a huge red flag when a kid has to have coaches/support staff pick him up in a golf cart in order to get him to attend class when he is struggling academically. They also think it's a red flag when a kid clears out after the conference tournament and decides not to help his teammates prepare for the NCAAs.
  8. It's definitely not his academics ....
  9. Pretty bad that NC State lost their 184 after news leaked out about State and Stewart. Now they don't have either.
  10. He was going to be ineligible to wrestle in the Fall anyway.
  11. There is no current loophole. Due to the Pavia case, the NCAA granted JUCOs an extra year across the Board to stay consistent with that case. It should be decided this Fall. As the parent of a D1 athlete, we had the JUCO discussions with a few schools and they were all in agreement that they were NOT expected any further extra years of eligibility for JUCO athletes.
