OSU not confirmed just a rumor. Chittum 100% got accepted and paid a deposit. Ohio State doesn’t post that an athlete has been signed until after those steps are complete.

TBH no school should / sign on the dotted line and provide a deposit until then its all BS

Thought this as soon as I saw the announcement.  Talk about a glut of talent there.

with rumors of ortega gaining a year they could have

Ortega

Osmany Diversent

Frost

Frost

Echemendia

Zerban

All of that in 4 weights

It will be interesting to see how 133 - 157 plays out for ISU.

feels like either paniro or vinny bumps to 165, right? no way vinny is transferring to sit and unless echemendia or johnson are still hurt those three guys have to be the stretch from 149-165.

Until the last line I thought you were suggesting that could be their potential line-up. 😂

Iowa State was overloaded in the lower-middle weights so some guys transferred out ... only for more quality in those weights to transfer in lol

I don't know that I'd necessarily count him out against Ech or Paniro. He didn't lost to a single non AA last season and seems to be getting better and better.

Between both Frosts, Echemendia Johnson, and Zerban, it's only Johnson who has failed to AA.  I could see a scenario where Echemendia starts at 149 over Johnson who would possible transfer out the following year

as mentioned before, he got a little extra $$ last year to go down to 141, but got sick. Jacob got a shot, and the rest is history. Depending on how big everyone gets and how they move around, Gaitan could be at risk losing a spot at 174. IMO that is the weak link. If Ortega gets eligibility, which is a long shot, that will be your 133 starter, nobody in that room can touch him that is around his weight.  If that happens, next year there will be transfers. Frost bros are outstanding dudes, and they do EVERYTHING right.  But both spots will be up for grabs.

Riggins won't see the mat again

Who do you figure would get big enough to take out MJ at 174? i cant imagine euton or riggins beating him at 174. last i heard from dresser  he said MJ was barely able to live wrestle at all throughout the year due to numerous injuries

I really don't know. I just see that log jam 133-165 and I wonder if someone couldn't get big enough to challenge him. Dresser loves MJ, and that is ok, but MJ has not progressed IMO. Riggins cant beat him, if he did, it would be really close. MJ at least gives a chance for bonus.

I understand what you mean. I think Euton beat MJ down at 165 but i cant imagine that he can get near big enough for 174. For this year at least it looks like MJs spot to lose. I agree that he hasnt progessed as hoped so far but a lot of the stuff i saw from him last year while on one leg gives me some hope that he can put it all together.

The last thing I would point out. Dresser needs to be careful that there is not a Cuban vs American's stand off in there. I won't go into a ton of details, as I was previously white-knighted here for sharing too many details. However, I will say that Ech's brother is a significant source of friction in there. Osmany wanting to be treated like a prima donna is another one. Dresser doesn't stand for it, and rips Osmany, but it isn't like he is an 18 year old kid.  We will see. I am pulling for them, I think Dresser is one of the best out there and they have a great group of donors.

Yeah i wondered about osmany just based off things i had heard as well. sounds like he needs a wake up call. kids got all the talent in the world. Big fan of dresser as well here and proud to be a season ticket holder and donor.
