The 'fruitcakes?'

Yeah, they ALSO know that it's NEVER worked out well(at least not in a global economy) and that the tariffs have taken an economy that was once the "envy of the world," and it's gone from growth to contracting and that those tariffs, they get passed on to the consumer.

Those "fruitcakes," also know that Trump has said he wants to cut the corporate tax rate. So...none of what you said makes sense, he's just blowing up the economy to try and bring the 10 year yield down, nothing more.

Lmao. Dean is good but a zero time AA. You are drinking the kool aid if you think Iowa is paying him a bag. I am sure he’s getting some money but it is highly unlikely to be much more than he got at Rutgers.

They have Paddy up at 165 next year. Either Chittum or Cannon are planning to suck down to 149 or they plan to redshirt Chittum then move either Cannon or him up. Chittum at tOSU seems like a weird fit to me.

I think Paddy to the bench is a real possibility. He was 0-2 at NCAAs this year and lost to a kid from the freaking Citadel to get eliminated. Cannon up at 165 very likely can beat Paddy out.

The guys over at Bucknuts 247 forum seem to think Cannon is going up, some think possibly even two weights.

If Cannon ends up at 165 next year and eventually goes 174 he would have wrestled 141, 157, 165, and 174 in college. Talk about some growth!

Also if Kharcala is really done, 174 is a hole for Ohio State next year, and where Paddy could end up.

Not really. Bailey maybe, but I’m shocked Mizzou even entertained Williams with the off the mat stuff. I’d prefer to ensure we don’t lose Mendoza’s commitment by adding a Bailey.

You don't remember KOT being hammered at the bar making out with that chick days before Scuffle? And then missing Scuffle and Brian Smith saying he was 'sick'?

I don't disagree but we've heard he got a significant amount over what he was getting at RU. To your point, I'm sure it's lower than what others have got from Iowa or if it qualifies as "a bag", but it was meaningful amount better than what RU could offer him.

He hasn't even committed to Iowa as of yet.

Wait until someone tells JimmySpeaks how much more debt is going to be added over the next 4 years. Spoiler alert it’s not great Jimmy.

I dont think itd be wise for tOSU to RS Chittum - I mean they just had the debacle with Rocco, not to mention Chittum hasn't exactly shown that he likes to stick around a place for too long.

I'd imagine Chittum came in to be the 157 starter and Cannon had a plan to change weights - I have thought he looks small for 157 but certainly has a frame to get bigger

Willie also said that Buchanan and Teemer were each getting 500K for a semester (here).  So I can infer you accept those figures as accurate?

And the idea that I have to take what Welsh says here at face value is laughable.

Except he *didn't* confirm right away, as was reported. And much of what he said is easily disprovable by others, e.g. that he received multiple cash offers, that he asked for and had a meeting with OSU coaches to get him better partners, that he was angry with them about redshirting, etc.

You literally have zero evidence he is being in any way dishonest, everything he says is consistent with what we already knew... yet you call him a liar.  I think that's sad.

They relied on homegrown lesser recruits for years.  It was not working.

Is "lesser recruits" the issue, or coaching? Glazier was the #32 overall recruit.  Buchanan wasn't even top 100.  Yet they ran Glazier out of town despite 5 years in the Iowa room, to bring in a guy coached up by others.  Seems to me Iowa is holding its homegrown guys accountable for the coaches' shortcomings.

To be clear, I'm all for welcoming top guys, via the portal or otherwise.  The issue I have with Iowa is that their loyalty bar is lower than every other D1 school, by a LOT. It's one thing to bring in top talent to deepen the room, or to fill a gap, or simply to not say "no" when someone says they want to come... but another thing entirely to specifically seek out and induce via big dollars ($500K per your source) someone for the express purpose of displacing your home-grown, high-end 6th-year recruit, coming off a 25-4 record, and running him out of town.  It's the most disloyal thing I've ever seen in college wrestling -- and that's saying something, given the overall commercialization of college sports.

Ah, so we're back to "Iowa guys tell the truth but PSU guys lie" right?

I'm happy for Buchanan.  He seems like a quality guy. Unlike you, I won't accuse him of lying.  But I'd be appreciative of anyone who paid me $500K for a season's work too.  And where's Glazier's interview?

I think Paddy would really really struggle at 174.  I don’t see him up that high.  Birden has the frame for it and he needs to get stronger anyway.  If Cannon is the 165, and that is a big if,  —I think Paddy will be out or looking to the portal.

Could Chittum go 149? maybe hed have better results there - I think he looks big at 157 but not tall, maybe he could cut down IDK

157: Paddy
165 Cannon
174 Birden
