Lipdrag Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Maybe some adults are going to show up and balance a budget. The House punted. Trump is not leading on this. Raising the debt ceiling only gives the politicians a new short term target of over spending to hit. Let's hope some senators can actually be big boys and girls and make the decisions necessary to stop stealing from our grandchildren. Can't those kids (born and unborn) get a federal judge somewhere to put out a cease and desist deficit spending injunction on the grounds of Taxation without Representation since those kids can't vote? 2 People who tolerate me on a daily basis . . . they are the real heroes.

Ray Brinzer on the old chat board suggested something similar. Go back a few years and go to those spending levels and current revenues meet those expenditures. I thought that was a brilliant move and have suggested it from time to time. mspart

Might not be a bad idea, but the way our gov’t thinks, they may just entitle six year olds to vote. Glenn Beck said yesterday that one aspect of the dilemma we’re in is that gov’t spending can account for 25% of GDP for federal - 45% of GDP including state and local spending. I’m not convinced that borrowing/printing money should be viewed as positive given its negative effects on the other side of the ledger. Or that the reduction in gov’t spending would be entirely lost. Some portion would still be sought, even if some had to work to obtain it, which might improve our productivity.

I don’t look at it as a conservative tweet, I see it as a video of Elon exposing what he found. Have you ever seen the forest for the trees?
