Huge pickup for Taylor. I was surprised to see him commit outside the state of Iowa. For those that have followed him, how has he done against other high level guys? Has he faced the likes of Correa, the Merrills, the Mirasolas, Mocco, Sahakian, etc?

If Taylor is recruiting him, he must have the skills.

or he doesn’t want coaches running around flipping refs off or throwing their shoes.

My money says that Taylor promised to not throw any chairs at refs or let his wrestlers kick challenge bricks on the biggest stage.

He teched yiannis brother twice in the cadet trials finals and the Elijah went on to get bronze at cadets because of Dreshauns injury only losing to the champ 7-6 (genos brother or nephew). Eli notably lost in the state finals to Ryder 3-0 not a big margin of victory guy but if you want to extrapolate out to current college guys. Someone noted there was nothing related to football in his commitment which I would think may mean he's all in on wrestling now. Not that okie state is not a good football program but that would also make sense as to why he chose there over ISU or Iowa.

Ok State football went from perennial Big 12 title contender to winless in the conference last season. Gundy is in trouble (contract restructure, pay cut). I hope this kid gets no where near a Cowboy football field. With a history of shoulder issues I can't see Taylor would be for it.

Thanks, I was about to ask about this. I wonder if he'll give football a try as a walk-on, though. Roster caps may prevent him from doing so, but getting a little taste of collective $ could be a motivating factor.

Kid looks like a dog, though I have questioned the lineup fit (not the skills fit) for Iowa given the Kueter of it all.  I think the Mocco brothers are more of a fit, IMO.  Doesn't mean I think they'll be better than Ross, again, the kid is an absolute animal.

Wow wow huge loss for state of Iowa.  Big reflection on coaching staff.

Two posts on the same subject 4 posts apart.  The Bit is strong.

He could be a bigger Tommy Rowlands type. Part Rowlands, part Kerry McCoy. If he's all in on Wrestling, he could be the biggest recruit to commit from this class.

Tommy was like 6'4"/230...

Except that year he went up to 250/255 whatever and it didn't work as well.  🙅‍♀️

He looks very good obviously, but I'm shorting this stock.

Wearing a brace of that size BEFORE college, especially at this weight with that build, does not bode well for long term durability.

Dustin Plott seems to be doing alright after his shoulder issues.

Obviously we'd love to have him be able to completely move on from the brace the way Plott has.  Remind me though, how's robbie howard doing?

Shoulders end careers more than any other joint.  Gotta love the definitive personality trait of this board which is to quote the exception that proves the rule.

Ross is wearing a brace meant for athletes with labrum, rotator cuff and dislocation issues.  Aka, a shoulder that has grenaded or is on its way to requiring big surgery to fix.  Big time ouchy, and if disrespected, can have meaningful long-term ramifications.

Ask Imar what happens if you go for a long time with a torn labrum and then come back a couple weeks too early from repair surgery if anyone needs a recent example. He went from seconds from dethroning Burroughs to career is over in a heartbeat.

Bum shoulders are to wrestling what torn ACLs were to 80s pro athletes.

Yeah..but it's not a stock, it's a kid.

By the way, if you are shorting stocks, COST is a GREAT stock to short. Super expensive, like a 60PE, small margins that will be under more pressure with tariffs and enormous growth this year.

Anyway, don't like shorting...kids. He's been playing Football and Wrestling. Get him in a College Strength and conditioning program...that's a BIG part of the battle. Also, IIRC, he hurt it, missed half the season and he's been back fine since then.

Well...yeah, if he was 6'4/270, it'd be kinda silly to say I think he could be a bigger version of him, wouldn't it?

On another note, Tommy had a kid coming up, right? A Jr? How good is he? And is he going through the same...page as his Dad? 103 to HWT?
