Looks like all of the Husker upper weights are moving down.

Antrell Taylor down to 157

Bubba Wilson back down to 165

Lenny Pinto to 174

Silas Allred to 184

Cam McDanel to start at 197

Interesting interview and lineup breakdown. No mention of Jagger Condomitti... Do you see him pushing for a spot? What weight?

I really think this team could push for somewhere between 4-8 AA's 8 probably being the absolute ceiling and anything less than 4 being really shocking for me Smith,Hardy,Lovett,Pinto seeming very likely and Van Dee, Taylor, Wilson, Allred, McDaniel all having a shot although Wilson and Van dee given their weights would really surprise me.

8? Is this @jajensen09's burner account?

8 AA's would be amazing. Hard to navigate the Big10 schedule with everyone staying healthy and not running in to landmines at the conference tournament. Would like to see another team in the mix with that many points.

I hope Nebraska has a good weight management plan for these guys. Asking 40 percent of your lineup to move down is a bold strategy.

I think Jagger wasn't mentioned because he was talking about the weight changes. I have no inside knowledge but Jagger is listed on their roster at 165 and, if he is fully back, he would be my pick to start over Wilson.

Jagger is 5-7 against d1 competition in his three years of college (19-9 overall). I think he is unfortunately someone who HEW. Hope I am wrong and he can compete for the spot

Last year there were rumblings prior to Robb getting his release to actually go, that this was going to be the lineup, sans Allred.  That is the only one that suprirses me, but McDaniels is a guy you try to get in the lineup ASAP.

after a very good 70kg season in 2023 he did not live up to my expectations competing there in 2024 I really thought it would be him and PJ in the finals even prior to kasak missing weight.

I'm not Willie, but I think so. Title contenders in my eyes are: Shapiro, Kasak, Jacori, and Antrell. Podium contenders are those four, plus: Kellar, Downey, Ed Scott, Askey, Teague Travis, and Paniro.

He struggled with several concussions. He was out for an entire year. For some of it he could not even work out at all - no weights, conditioning, etc.  He came back second semester last season after sitting 12 months and had a pretty successful return. He has been healthy since. He wears protective headgear now due to his past concussions. He won a wrestle off with Wilson before the concussion issue, but I  am not sure how much progress he lost being out  12 months. Manning seems to talk very highly of Wilson and seems to think he will be the starter there, which is obviously the best source.

I don't put him in that top tier at all for 157.  I put him behind Kellar.

I wouldn't fight you on it. I put him in tier 1 based on his NCAA results (splitting with Hall) and now being down at his more natural weight. But I can see why you'd say tier 2 based on his overall resume last season.

Maybe I am just thinking about that whip over he hit on Mesenbrink but I think he can complete with anyone at the weight. I see a fair amount of parity at 157 again this year. Especially with Haines moving out of the weight class.
