People are saying the opening ceremony included a version of the Last Supper featuring men in drag. If that’s true that might be why he stayed away.

This. There are a lot of athletes who aren’t participating in the opening ceremony.

A bunch of cyclists who just finished the Tour de France aren’t doing it, either. Those guys make millions of dollars a year and are paid to manage their performance; standing for 8hrs ain’t it.

Looks good to me.  @ionel did Brooks grow a few inches?  He's finally taller than Spencer!

Idk those look like 2 to 3" lifts.  Regardless he's still too short.

How many wrestlers did the opening ceremonies?  So far I've seen Paris and Lee.  I know how it felt to walk into the parade of champions at our state tournament...  I cannot imagine passing on the Olympics...but maybe I'm weird.

It bothers me more seeing half the USA soccer team not acknowledging the national anthem when every other team does for their country.  No one is forcing them to play for the US, just say no.

The marketing of US Soccer as an avant garde politicos is "cringe" (apologies, I have a tween). The half-assed appropriation and misreadings of the Frankfurt School family tree is one reason folks justifiably mock them.
