I would much rather living in Blacksburg than New Brunswick. Perhaps I am the exception and not the rule.

I'd agree with you there--that's what I meant by QOL.

In this case I meant "location" as in, proximity to recruiting hotbeds.

What is there to do in Blacksburb? On the surface this post seems absolutely insane to me, but I have to admit that I know nothing about Blacksburg, VA.  And maybe I wouldn't live in New Brunswick itself, but living in that area of NJ is pretty nice.

Blacksburg is at the foothills of the Blueridge Mountains. It is a very beautiful area for those who like the outdoors. If you are interested in suburban life, then New Brunswick would be the place for you. City life is not for me.

Hmm.  Living in a mountain you say.  I could see why a lot of us wrestlers would feel at home there.

Crime riden city where staring at concrete and skyscrapers every day vs looking off your patio and seeing green grass, trees and mountains.  🤔

If youre the AD of RU would you try to retain Pritzlaff or Goodale?

This is a hypothetical considering DP didnt leave yet though he has.

I would keep Donnie as a pretty big follower of the team and I love Goodale known him since high school , had him coach against many many times in my life but man Rutgers has 0 AAs on staff and obviously no national champs and are losing there only World medalist Rivera who is going with Donnie, meanwhile Princeton down the road has 3 ncaa champs ( Dubuque, Brewer Ashnault) and 2 AAs Jackson and Monday , a big ten program with a top 5 recruiting class and not even an AA ? Things could start to unwind without Pritzlaff

And meth fueled gun battles in the hollers just a few miles from town!

(That the police never responded to, let alone investigated!)

If you like your meth labs you can keep you meth labs.  Don't have any where I live and don't want any.

Disagree...Rutgers wrestles in Best Conference in USA and has a much bigger fan base in a Wrestling rich NJ...Facility wise RU blows away VT...VT has really been getting better every year.....Both Programs have had 2 NCAA Champions in their history and probably about same # AA in last 10 years...I would put Programs as pretty equal right now ( slight edge to RU) and IMO..VT program isn't a step above RU overall

Funny thing is both coaches met numerous time on the mat in College..Goodale wrestled for Lock Haven and Robie for Clarion...Same weight and same Conference ..PSAC

Tony Robie wrestled at Edinboro, not Clarion.

Ash out the door, now Donnie, Rivera and Buxton.

Yet the RU faithful feel the current HC is the man.

Hmmm…

Yeah... but still Somehow HC landed the #4 class in USA for 2024, Has a Great Fan Base and start season with about 12 guys on Roster who have competed in NCAA Tournament already...This season and the Future look Great in New Jersey!

Great Time to be a Rutgers Wrestling Fan!

Rider and Princeton will stink...The days of them even competing against the Flagship are Over! Rider should see if they can get into Mercer County HS Tournament this Year

It is sad what has happened to Rutgers. Ashnault, Pritzlaff, and Rivera are gone. If Buxton also leaves, it will be a big disappointment. The Rutgers head coach is a great salesman and can recruit. But, lost the trust and respect of a number of top coaches and wrestlers. The Rutgers fan base deserves better. It is one of the best fan bases in the country.

Yes, the sky is falling at the Big R. 🤔

My brother wrestled at Rutgers from 1988-91. He would've killed for this type of chaos.

Successful teams lose coaches all the time for new/better gigs, better pay, more responsibility, etc., particularly at the end of an Olympic quad.

Congrats, Rutgers fan base - you've made it. Enjoy the irrationality that comes with it.
