I coached wrestling over 40 years, highly successful.....when I was young I wrestled freestyle and greco.....I'm not a big fan of greco other than to incorporate upperbody as another weapon in freestyle/folkstyle....Banach, Burley, Lewis, Schultz's, Nate Carr all used some upperbody....but for Ben to bring up pickleball????? I taught physical education for 40 years also, and had a "rec" games unit which by 1979 included pickleball before it was known in most places. Great game.....no way it should be compared to greco-roman wrestling.....not a big deal, jus sayin'. Wishing Ben the best tonight with his match tonight on RAF 11. There's only a couple of matches I'm interested in, but he's certainly one of them.

Man, I think Geog got screwed.....right near the end of regulation, it looked like they were totally out of bounds, at least from my angle, and the official let them wrestle back in and rademacher escaped a couple seconds later to send it into ot. I think Logan Steiber or Jaggers even pointed to that spot as if to say they were out. Ultimately Geog lost in the second ot.

How about 1976.....142 pounds ....Brad Smith of Iowa on the bottom half and Brad Smith of Toledo on the top half of the NCAA Championship bracket. Smith of Iowa to the finals and Smith of Toledo loses in the semis 5-5, 0-0 criteria to keep it from being an iconic matchup. Smith/Iowa wins in the finals and Smith of Toledo loses to Steve Barrett, the NCAA Champion the next year, for third and fourth. Fadz.

Dr. Jimmy Martin was fun to watch!!
