What we do in response indeed.   Here in WA, they taxed the hydrocarbons of any kind with a CO2 tax.   This CO2 tax was supposed to be spent on reducing CO2 emissions and help with flooding etc.

What do Washington state residents get for all this tax revenue? Not much environmental benefit. We don’t have good data on whether the CO2 tax is reducing emissions because the Department of Ecology is refusing to release updated emissions data, in violation of state law – as they themselves admitted in court recently.

The data we do have show that the vast majority of the spending does nothing to reduce emissions. The Department of Ecology’s own report on climate spending indicates that most of the projects they fund have, in their words, no “quantifiable emissions reductions.”

Just two and a half years into the CO2 tax, the policy has become another tax rather than a meaningful or effective climate policy. The prices will continue to climb even as state spending continues to fail to produce meaningful environmental benefits. 

You all have heard about the flooding here.   Less than one half of 1% of the Billions that have come in due to the CO2 tax were placed for flood prevention and that was just to set up the bureaucracy to do something.   Somebody is getting the money but it isn't flood mitigation.  

My point is you can't spend your way out of this with no accountability.   That is what we have here and apparently in MN where Walz is not longer running for Governor even though he would win if he did run.   Ha ha.   No accountability, no auditing.   You will have massive waste of resources without this.   Therefore, this money is ill spent and not doing anything to reduce CO2 emissions and therefore reversing the climate change.   Even the leftists don't honestly believe their own rhetoric or else we would see where this money is going.   What we see is not good.

That writer is obviously a jerk.  The global-warming alarmism is what saved us from hurricanes this year.  Nothing was debunked.  But can we have our efficient and effective electricity back now?  And cars we want to drive?  And the stoves that cook good?
