  2. And the guy that beat him became a ref

  4. Apparently they called potentially dangerous and Latona didn't ask for time. The transcript on Arena (go to the "bracket" for 133 and click on the bout number) does show an injury timeout. They wouldn't have started the clock without medical personnel showing up. McGonagle did look confused. PERIOD 1 1:30 Takedown 3 1 Escape 0:58 Bottom PERIOD 2 2:00 Caution Warning 1 Escape 1:36 Bottom PERIOD 3 2:00 Escape 1 3 Takedown 1:02 0:52 Escape 1 PERIOD 4 Injury Time 0:24 Bottom PERIOD 5 Stall Warning 0:12 Reversal 2 Neutral PERIOD 6 0:12 Stall Warning Caution Warning
  5. But that is what I was responding to in your post. That wasn't a suggestion.
  6. Years ago as I was using my older software to run tournaments (1981-2004 even before EscapeSports) I had a factor that gave an indication of how strong the event was. Technically, it was fining the total length of bouts as actually wrestled divided by the theoretical limits (6 in HS 7 in college- forget what I did with ots). Before seeing the results, I along with most thought it would be more of a factor of the better wrestlers and how often they pinned. What we realized was that it was more the factor of the lesser wrestlers and how often they got pinned. And if both wrestlers weren't very good, one of them would find a way to get pinned. JV tournaments had lower values than varsity events. And there was parity in the JV events. So it wasn't entirely that.
  7. I believe they were calling that Manning was asking even though it was clearly Bryan in the shot.
  8. Rest is irrespective of match type- other than if a match was won by forfeit/med ff.
  9. I think freshmen could compete a couple years before you came on the scene but still few did. You were likely the first most noticeable one we saw. There was a scholarship limit of 11 prior to the across the board 10% cut in the early 90s. I'm not sure when it started. I don't remember talk of limits in the 70s either. Never thought about it until you mentioned it. Prior to the 70s, I suspect the better way to refer to it was that there was no limit to the under the table "scholarships" given.
  10. Five Words is back again?
  11. You do understand that a generation is about a quarter of a century.
  12. ???? NJs best wrestler of the century doesn't translate to that? Seriously? What he ended up doing isn't relevant to what he was considered prior.
  13. Not a titlist- 6th in 1984 at 167 Rudy Isom Wisc. Lost 4-3. Won 2 straight Ffts. Won 1-0. Lost 4-2.
  14. He was voted NJs best wrestler of the century.
  15. His major at Lehigh was Earth and Environmental Science. I see KSU has a Masters program in that field
  16. He's showing up on WrestleStat but not in the OPC or on the KSU site. I wonder if he's looking to join 2nd semester.
  17. ??? Did you actually look? Assuming you are looking for Mens FS- FS Main
  18. Possibly my all time favorite short movie!
  19. Gizoni won in the early 50s. ('50/'51). The last year I see like you mention appears to be '40.
  20. It's a club. She's listed on the team site- but not in the OPC.
  21. But officer- all those other cars were speeding, too!
  22. Seeding is by points. They happen at the Continental Championships the week before and at the Last Chance Saloon (oops, qualifier)
  23. Also Gene Barber 2nd '73
  24. Not positive about head to head but they do count in WL but not in RPI. "Forfeits and medical forfeits count towards the winning percentage but do not count toward the 15-match RPI."
  25. Yes. Maybe wrestlestat hasn't adjusted yet.
