  1. Stanich: World Champ
  2. 30 to go... 4-3 Stanich...
  3. Here it is:
  4. I wish I would have saved the one that was "Wonder who wins between the Senior Asians 86 KG Champ from this year or some guy who medalled at U17s a few years ago" or something like that. Paraphrasing, but that message was delivered.
  5. Twitter about to go APE shit with that McEnelly win. Going to be a fun afternoon.
  6. I am a bit concerned with par terre for McEnelly. He has scored ten takedowns today. Do I think he can win it on takedowns alone? Yes. Do I think that will be a tall task? Also, yes.
  7. Aye, we are currently in the run for 6 of 8. Three medals from Day 1 and U think we'll get three from Day 2 as well.
  8. The Kazahk that Mocco beat at last U17s last year in 0:18s won in the finals. Mirasola was the best HWT in the field. His aggression cost him against the KAZ (who attempted one offensive move the entire match).
  9. 125 KG Mirasola as well.
  10. Damn. Japan with a TD and two laces. Lockett down 6-0, now 10-0. One minute techfellery for Japan here.
  11. Nice win for Duke. Hopefully he hasn't another gear he can ascend to for Senior Worlds.
  12. Medal matches start very soon:
  13. Closing sequence there, Kurugliyev goes in on a desparation shot, to eat up time... Jafarli tries to turn him from there, it's tight and it appears he does - which would make it 6-6 and Kurugliyev the winner on criteria still. Called 2 for KAZ as he did stop the momentum prior to the turn. This could be 6-6 or 6-8 or 4-8, all would be for Kurugliev. If it is called 4-8 it would end up being 4-9 on a failed challenge. Either way, it appears Mirasola is being pulled back in.
  14. 30 to go. Kurugliyev looking at the clock. He does have a 4 pointer, so he holds criteria.
  15. Jafarli with a Takedown with a MIN to go, now 6-4 for Kurugliyev. Kurugliyev looks gasssssed.
  16. Challenge lost. KAZ up 6-2 with 2M to go.
  17. Also, of note: Kurugliyev looks gassed. Were Mirasola to have had him later, it might have been a different result? Maybe not.
  18. Good exchange there. Could have been 2 or 2 + 2 for Kurugliyev (KAZ) or none, depending on vantage. Zero awarded, KAZ challenges.
  19. Kurugliyev is having a little trouble with Jafarli. He is clearly better, but Jafarli has what appears to be a large strength advantage. Add in a very low center of gravity, and it's interesting.
  20. Jafarli is a bull, man. Strong like Ox.
  21. Challenge won - four points for Kurugliyev plus gut makes it 6-0 for the Kazahk.
  22. Hard to tell, really. He was controlling it in, but did Jafarli stop his momentum and create that 4 pointer?
  23. 4 pointer for the Azeri and 2 for the Kazahk, then 2 more on a gut, 4-4 Azeri on criteria. Challenge requested by Kurugliyev's corner. They think he initiated it all.
