  1. Hey I resemble that remark. I think it was V that gave me my avatar. It looks just like me. mspart
  2. A stirling engine is as close as you will come. They don't have the greatest performance but maybe that is a tradeoff we could adjust to. Most efficient but the power is lacking. mspart
  3. With the pedals, I have a few. I have a delay, chorus, reverb, tube screamer, Big Muff. Rather than put batteries in , I just run them all with a 9 volt adapter that plugs in. I bought daisy chain that allows me to power all of them with one plugin. Also I got patch cords to get them all in series or however I want to configure. Daisy Chain Patch cables Power supply I got all of these on Reverb.com. You can get them anywhere like guitar center or sweetwater etc. I just cut a piece of plywood and put down velcro on the board and put the opposite on the bottom of my boxes and they stay in place pretty good. It's nothing fancy that's for sure. But it is fun playing with them but I usually don't get them out. The amp has an overdrive that sounds pretty good and I just play like that mostly. But it is nice to get some effects in there. You could bypass all of that and get a modelling amp. I have a Marshall Code 50, but there are others out there. They model all of the effects you could want and do it pretty well. Mine is not the best. I modified it to take a jack in the back. When I plug in my speaker cab to it, it turns off the crappy speaker in the amp and sends the sound to my cab. That sounds much better. Good luck with all of it. It is a lot of fun. mspart
  4. Well, I didn't like the Hagstrom that started this thread. The tone knobs or pots just didn't do anything until the end of the turn. It also is not that easy to play. So I need to sell that one. In the meantime I got a Cherry Red Epiphone ES-335 "Inspired by Gibson". It is a 2024 model and sounds great. It has also been a little difficult to bond with but I'm getting there. My LP is still my go to guitar. This has classic 57 pickups which are not standard on these guitars from what I can find. This picture is similar. I love the sound plugged in and it sounds very nice not plugged in. But better plugged in. It does a mean Back in Black just straight through the amp. I will be selling the Hagstrom. I just have to get around to it. I will be selling my 4 track cassette recorder as well. That worked well but is just a little out of date. I may be getting a Behringer Centara pedal that is supposed to sound real nice. I have a few OD pedals so this will be interesting. I have a Big Muff and it sounds ok, but adds noise to the signal that I don't care for. I might be selling it soon as well. Maybe I just need to play with it a little more. I also have a Tube Screamer that I do like and won't be getting rid of that anytime soon. mspart
  5. I'd like to have an SG but my guitar display is full. I don't play Ibanez, and have no idea how they do. But it is tough to go wrong with a guitar and amp. mspart
  6. https://www.collegefactual.com/colleges/harvard-university/paying-for-college/student-loan-debt/ A total of 2,015 Harvard University students entered loan repayment in 2017. After three years, 0.8% of these students (17 out of 2,015) defaulted on their loans. Excuse me if I don't believe you. It's low I'll grant you but not zero. mspart
  7. How is it then that the conservatives knew for years before that debate that Biden had lost it? What were they seeing that was different than the MSM? The debate just confirmed for everyone on the conservative side that they were right and more so, confirmed that the left was lying about it all along. mspart
  8. Maybe. But what would you advocate if the county you lived in was next door to an entity (let's call it another county) that had taught their children for years that you and everyone in your county are the devil and need to be killed sooner rather than later. And they fire rockets into your county with the express purpose of killing people in the county. And this had been going on for years and years. And that these people from the other county came in and killed over 1000 of your county residents in gruesome ways and took over 200 hostage and treated them horribly. I think it is a safe bet that the people in your county would want the people in the adjacent county either wiped out or in prison. Period. And most wouldn't care which. It's tough to envision this scenario, but I think it fairly illustrates what is going on over there. mspart
  9. Oh, those good old covid days. How I miss them. I am having a hard time imagining life without the masks. But I'll soldier on and give it my best effort. mspart
  10. I can't say what happens in other cities, but in Seattle, the law breakers do not get punished. The students and agitators that took over the engineering building at UW and caused a million dollars in damage are still not charged with any wrong doing. That was the easiest prosecution in the world. No charges. Homeless routinely either get arrested and get released, or do not get arrested. Unless it is heinous such as the homeless guy that knifed a city bus driver to death. Simple assault is not followed up on. Home invasion crimes are not followed up on at all. Seattle used to be called the emerald city. No longer. mspart
  11. Oh TOM, how we are saddened. mspart
  12. Viratas!!!!! Welcome!!! mspart
  13. Business loans go through all of that. What is the loan for? What is the plan? How will you pay this back? The problem is that student loans are not a one loan operation. Each semester or year they have to grab more money and there is little accounting for where it goes. Much of it goes to tuition and housing. But a good part of it goes to living expenses. Which are not small for today's college students. There is little accountability throughout the process. So after two years, there should be an accounting. What major are you going into? Women's studies? We don't have any more money for that. Oh you meant Pre-Med? We have funding for that. Engineering? We have funding for that. Gender diaspora studies? We have quarter funding for that? etc etc. Pretty soon the kid leaves college or is on a better track for professional attainment. If a kid can show that his/her English degree will be parlayed into an MBA, then there is probably funding for that. It all depends on the plan and if it makes financial sense to the loan agency. mspart
  14. The argument being waged against there being an antifa is similar to the argument that the universe revolved around the earth. Until it didn't. mspart
  15. So you want no one getting bailouts. I would be in pretty good agreement with that. mspart
  16. Interesting. Crime has been high in these places with no promise of federal intervention. So I don't think your idea is the reason. mspart
  17. Yet you are fighting for students to be able to get relief from the their debt. Do you not see the logical fallacy there? mspart
  18. Portland doesn't do that because they are the folks that voted them in. Portland is nuts. Antifa has been making ear splitting noise at night all summer long. Local Police are told not to go and restore peace. Leave them alone. That's why it lasts so long. The mayor and Gov don't want to bite the hand that keeps them in power. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/we-the-people-need-sleep-woman-sues-over-ice-and-trump-protest-noise-says-she-is-living-in-constant-pain-and-cant-sleep-at-night/ar-AA1IwuJd mspart
  19. https://www.fox13memphis.com/news/has-crime-dropped-in-memphis-since-arrival-of-federal-reinforcements/article_50666ee1-09be-4c8d-ab32-1cd51dc7c0cc.html U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi said the task force made over 270 arrests in the last week. That number is expected to climb. Here's a look at data from the Memphis Police Department comparing the last two weeks: Sept. 22-26 — 2 homicides, 46 aggravated assaults, 72 motor vehicle thefts and 13 robberies Sept. 29-Oct. 3 — 2 homicides, 40 aggravated assaults, 30 motor vehicle thefts and 7 robberies Looks like after a week, there is still work to do. If it is true that 80% of crime is committed by very few people, when those arrested are in jail, crime numbers should go down, assuming they find those few folks. If what the few videos above say is true, then some neighborhoods are feeling some relief. That is good news. BTW, that lady with the kids playing in the back yard, has some dangerous looking fingernails. I'm just sayin'! mspart
  20. Yes, this is Trump's victory. Brought along a host of ME countries and others to bolster the ceasefire and hostage release. What I don't understand is why does one hostage equal 100 prisoners held? That makes no sense. 20 living hostages released but 2000 Gazan prisoners was the price. Seems a bit unbalanced. mspart
  21. Looks like a case of mistaken identity. Looking good there for sure. mspart
  22. Portland 'protesters' at the ICE facility are proudly antifa. They have the flag. To say it doesn't exist is denying visual confirmation. It may not have a standard organizational structure, but they are organized. It's not like one person showed up and a whole lot more came over time. It is a push and lasts for a long time. As winter sets in and the rain becomes incessant, the ICE protests will hopefully find its demise. mspart
  23. Who sues a 15 year old? mspart
  24. NGOs are also accused of funding antifa. https://publicdispatch.org/shadow-funds-uncovering-the-economics-of-antifa/ Name: Tides Network (Tides Foundation and Tides Center) Role: Fiscal sponsorship and grant-making hub for left-wing causes, providing pass-through funding to radical groups that enable Antifa-style protests and mutual aid. Description: The Tides Foundation and Tides Center have distributed millions to politicized NGOs engaged in anti-racist and anti-Israel activism, many of which intersect with Antifa tactics during campus occupations and street actions. Notably, Tides received over $27 million in USAID grants, which were rerouted to support extremist networks, including those funding pro-Palestinian protests with Antifa participation. The organization has also faced scrutiny for its role in a surge of fundraising that bolstered abolitionist and protest bail funds used by Antifa militants in events like the 2020 riots, as detailed in White House funding revelations (The Daily Signal, 2025). mspartrt
  25. Is this a good thing or a bad thing that illegal border crossing are the lowest in 50 years? mspart
