  1. It has widely been reported that trade deals with China and EU have been made. Canada almost. I'm not syaing that is a good track record but to say no deals I think is not being truthful. There is much progress with most countries. Trump is just tightening the thumb screws to get the deals moving and finished. https://time.com/7300389/trump-trade-deals-tariff-letters-deadline/ mspart
  2. Date is missing and there is only one. That does not really support the subject of this conversation. mspart
  3. Let's look at the last white conservatives terrorist activities. Can someone on here provide those please? Names and dates. mspart
  4. The Martin sounds interesting. Tell us more. I have a body of a telecaster (I cut it out) that I could still make into a guitar. It has been sitting in my shed for years. Perhaps I'll do something similar. I would buy the neck and electronics. Problem is I can't see well anymore and would not be sure any soldering would work right. My roomate and I had a guitar making company in college that went nowhere but the basic idea was to get rid of soldering. We were going to use quick disconnect connectors that slide together. That way pickups could be changed quickly, same with pots. I was going to use the ME shop to make the bodies and we had a license to get parts wholesale. But it was of course a fools errand. I still think the quick disconnect idea is good, but there must be a reason that isn't used much. mspart
  5. Let's look at the arguments when the 14th amendment was being drafted. https://mylegalwriting.com/2025/01/22/repost-birthright-citizenship-and-the-fourteenth-amendment/ Of particular importance to the Fourteenth Amendment’s citizenship clause was the phrase “and subject to the jurisdiction thereof,” which limited citizenship to children whose parents owed allegiance to the United States. Mere birth within the United States was not enough, since this would extend the privileges and immunities of citizenship even to the children of visiting diplomats or other persons having no kinship with our country. Senator Jacob Merritt Howard, who introduced the amendment for debate, explained as follows: This will not, of course, include persons born in the United States who are foreigners, aliens, who belong to the families of ambassadors or foreign ministers accredited to the Government of the United States, but will include every other class of persons. Another way of phrasing the function of the “citizenship clause” was provided by then-Senator Reverdy Johnson, who observed: Now, all this amendment provides is, that all persons born in the United States and not subject to some foreign power – for that, no doubt, is the meaning of the committee who have brought the matter before us – shall be considered as citizens of the United States. . . . The Supreme Court also took note of the limited reach of the “citizenship clause” as follows: The phrase, “subject to its jurisdiction” was intended to exclude from its operation children of ministers, consuls, and citizens or subjects of foreign States born within the United States. Slaughter-House Cases, 83 U.S. at 73. So the understanding at the time the amendment became and amendment, it was that children of foreigners that were born in the US were not citizens by the 14th Amendment. The clause which states, "and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, meant that non citizens having a child in the US did not make the child a citizen. This was part of the original arguments and understanding at the time. This coincides with Trumps EO regarding birthright citizenship. It seems clear that this is what the framers of the amendment understood. mspart
  6. Actually, my brother liked the Posies, a local Seattle band. I get those mixed up I guess. mspart
  7. The peoples republic of King County and Multnoma County. mspart
  8. That is very neat handwriting. Wow!!! Happy 4th y'all mspart
  9. We are living it here in Seattle and Portland. Two cities that were voted the most livable just a few years ago are now not and not bu\y a long shot. And getting back is not in the cards at this point. They seem to be happy in their anarchy. mspart
  10. I'll have to listen to that. I listened to the first 1.5 songs and so far so good. mspart
  11. I was also down also but am now up by more than that. I sold everything and got back in right near the bottom. It has done me very goodly. msaprt
  12. this thread has various things being said that have been asked for clarifications. Not aimed at you GMF, but it would be nice if people here just said what they meant instead of hiding it behind apparently meaningless words. mspart
  13. Happy 4th to you to Rasta. I have no real plans. Just hanging out. mspart
  14. My brother loved that band. I have to admit I don't know a thing about them other than they created the groove that Nirvana capitalized on. Many years ago I learned some Pearl Jam and AIC and recorded them. They came out ok, even the leads. My wife threw them away in a cleaning spree. mspart
  15. Neither have a chance. The thing is they are so deluded they think they just didn't get their message across correctly. Their message was rejected in 2024. But they think if they can tell their story better, they will make it. Like all those people that say communism works, it just hasn't been implemented correctly. mspart
  16. I was in college at BYU and we drove to LA to see them on their first tour post Waters. It was a good concert. Worth the drive. Oh yeah! I keep playing, but have to learn new stuff every so often or it gets stale. Latest new songs are If by Bread, Nothing else matters by Metallica, Layla by Derek and the Dominos, Carry on by Kansas. All songs I knew about and never learned. I can play the songs but not the leads. Oh yeah , Back in Black and Hell's Bells by AC/DC. Again no lead work. Us and Them by Pink Floyd. I'll have to start thinking of songs I want to play again. mspart
  17. Diddy be bad. No bail. Stay in the pokie. mspart
  18. I apologize if you got the wrong impression. I think I am neither savvy about guitars or playing them. I can do ok as a rhythm guitarist but no way do I play any leads worth listening to. I don't come up with anything original. I know the scales and just play those. Horrible really. But I do love playing that's for sure. I'm just not very accomplished at it. David Gilmour once said he thought if he practiced enough he could play with real speed. He found out he couldn't. I can't either. I can play some Gilmour leads because he doesn't go for speed but for feel and emotion. I can copy those but can't come up with them. If it goes outside of the standard blues scale, I'm lost. UFO is a good example. I can play some of their stuff, but the leads, Schenker is just way out there, there is no way I can keep up. I appreciate your enthusiasm but I won't be posting any videos anytime soon. mspart
  19. The aliens also disregard the resolve a few humans have to survive and beat them. While everyone else is dying all around them, Tom Cruise is plotting revenge. mspart
  20. And what as he fighting exactly? Did he bring any new arguments that no one thought of regarding the big beautiful bill? No. It was simply a publicity stunt. He thinks he will be the next D Pres candidate. mspart

And there is no MSM reporting on this. The FBI knew about this, Wray testified it wasn't happening, and the FBI decided to squelch the report. Yay for Team Biden. Talk about politicizing Justice. mspart
  22. Epiphone (Gibson's side hustle really) is putting out some outstanding guitars for the money. I don't have the money for Gibson guitars so I settled on Epiphone which is owned by Gibson and they have been outstanding. If he doesn't like it can I have it? mspart
  23. If was ever in a pro fight, he would lose unless he fought a real nothing. He would have to work his way up the ladder so to speak and his fights wouldn't earn as much I wouldn't think. I'm guessing he keeps with the exhibition fights., makes lots of money, and doesn't get seriously hurt. I really thought Tyson was going to win. and in the 1st round, I really thought it as he came out very strong. But he either couldn't or wouldn't keep up the pace. And I think it was more wouldn't than couldn't. mspart
  24. Are you sure about that? mspart
