  3. I think Jordan Burroughs helped usher in the “Golden Age” for USA wrestling and was followed up by Snyder, Dake and Taylor. It is pretty incredible that we got to watch 4 of the top 6 American wrestlers of all time compete at the same time! And J’Den Cox has an argument to be in the top 10 all time. Unfortunately, this era is starting to come to an end (I know DT and Cox are the only ones officially retired, but the point still stands). However, you can’t help but be impressed with what our young guys just did! Duke, Blaze, and Forrest are doing things I never saw anyone their age do before! Could they and others bring in an even better golden age? You can never predict anyone to have the long lasting success like JB and Snyder, but I think some of these guys have the talent to do it. I’m interested to see if any of these guys can make a run at 7+ senior golds!

  5. We’re leaving twitter !!!!!!!! I don’t see liberals on it as much !!!!!!!! Elon is Hitler !!! how many times have almost every lefty on here in their own slightly smug-ish tone say I am to good for tik tok. I don’t have a twitter account. I don’t social media. Countless times boss. Now your counting likes as your means and posting endlessly about which stupid topic is more popular than the other one. The reality is. The human on this board with their panties in a bunch the most over this. —-> Is you. Democrats' exodus from X to BlueSky is a journey of self-delusion | Opinion Democrats think they can retreat to safe spaces after the 2024 election. They should stand up for free speech like classical liberals instead. Denial is a river you can watch in real time. At the moment it flows from social platform X, formerly known as Twitter, to social platform BlueSky, otherwise known as utopia. In one sanctimonious declaration after another, Democrats are registering their disgust for the people they blame most for losing the 2024 presidential election. So, Democrats are making their exodus from Platform X, whose owner they despise and whose users they deplore. Elon Musk is not merely the richest man in the world and the guy who bought Twitter. He is now a member of Republican “Team Unity” that is returning Donald Trump to the White House. Democrats won’t tolerate heresy like that, so there must be separation from the rabble, from the larger swath of America that voted one more time for Trump. The Democrats will take their moral certitude to a social media domain more serene and high-minded, more controlled. A veritable heaven on earth.

Aziz 197 Hawks HWT Scuba The Larkins both have so much talent. Kaleb could definitely challenge for a Natty next year. Kyler is right there also in year one Ruiz is on the brink of really breaking through. Manville a looked great. Need 2024 Yas back. Hawks and Scuba come in with AA potential and experience on the big stage. Aziz has done it at a lower level. ASU starting to build some depth.

  10. What has become most clear to me is there are a significant number of people here who completely don't understand what gerrymandering is. While they give evidence of the effects of it they think they are making an argument against it.

  11. As hard as concept it is for some here to grasp, there are a whooooooole lot of people who do not vote a straight line party ticket. There are a whooooooole lot of people that the stance on the issues is more important than the letter next to the name. There are also a whooooooole lot of people that understand the more local the election (mayor/city council vs governor vs president), the more direct impact it has on your life.

  12. There’s literally no way you could substantiate that. And even bigger picture….on a board full of silly arguments, this one would have to be at the top of the list. Debating which ‘side’ has more mad people is as dumb as the people getting mad in the first place!

  17. Certainly a fair question, and agree something to watch as time goes on. Productivity standpoint, I believe there’s pluses and minuses for both depending on the issue. I’m much a fan of a cleaner border than what was going on in the last administration, although I don’t buy into all the hype we were being fed into the last election (for example fentanyl was the big MAGA buzzword in ‘24 but the facts are that those drug deaths were down 37% in ‘24). I’m also wasn’t a fan of all of the extreme DEI and trans practices that were being allowed. I’m all for DEI in terms of getting minorities opportunity to interview and “try out” for jobs, but at the end of the day the most qualified person should get the job. But…again…I’m not sure most qualified is the best term to describe this administration’s hires, but at least in a nationwide setting that appears to be cleaned up a bit. Economy wise, I give weight to the fact that Biden came in right after the world shut down, and I completely expected a significant rise in inflation once things fully opened again. I’m no economist, but common sense could tell you that the corps were going to make up for their losses. And, given that, the economy was being handled pretty well over the last couple years of the administration. I know those who only see things through party colored glasses are going to argue that, but again the facts don’t agree with that hype. International affairs, well I don’t see much change. I mean we can make a big todo about the Sudan and Congo, but how much impact does that have on the world stage? Ukraine and Isreal, well they’re just as much a mess as they were in Dec ‘24, and the leaders of Russia and Isreal don’t seem to respect this president…when it comes to action…any more than they did the previous. And as for overall health and decline. Biden was definitely complete mush by the time we got to 2024. No doubt about it. But I don’t know that he was behind in summer of ‘21 where Trump is now. Democrats did the right thing getting him out of the election, although they did it for the wrong reason. Not for the good of the country, but for the sake of winning the election, and they went with wrong candidate. I don’t think MAGA would do the same, unless he declines so much that he is not able to threaten those who might go against him. Still very early, I think the key is what you said in your post, very much things to watch for sure.

  20. I don't think Police budgets are fat and wasteful. Accountability is another issue, America can always use more of that, especially when it comes to criminals. I'm not a fan of Qualified Immunity as it has been applied but we need more training and better training and that won't happen if we defund.

  22. Their #2's at the weight you mentioned are good, but look at 70, 79, 86, 92, 97, and 125. Even in the weights they have a medalist (70, 86, and 97), the next guy up is miles behind. Even if you look at my international rankings right now, USA has 21 guys ranked in the top 20, Japan has only 9. Their depth is pretty far behind the USA's, and that was my entire point.

  28. It seems like they are losing steam on getting it to be a school sponsored program. What most people don't know is the University of Texas had wrestling. It was a long time ago. They even beat Oklahoma A&M in a dual! I think they beat the Okie Aggies twice! Another bit of "Useless trivia for $500" is that Arkansas State also had a wrestling program back in 1949-1953. Coach departed for a job in his home state. The open position was Head Wrestling Coach at Iowa State University. The coach was, Harold Nichols. I won't say that is the rest of the story, but there you go.

  38. While the 24-25 season record is almost totally from Open tourneys, I don't see Bailey generating the same point potential as Griffin (bio below). In 2024-25: Posted 21-6 record competing at 149… led NCAA Division I with Lehigh single season record 18 falls… 19 of 21 wins produced bonus points… wrestled in one dual meet at Pittsburgh… opened season with third place finish at Princeton Open… runner-up at Sheridan Tournament in December… won season-ending F&M Invitational… competed at Midlands Championships. In 2023-24: Emerged as postseason starter at 149… qualified for NCAA Championships with third place finish at EIWA Championships… went 0-2 in first NCAA appearance… ranked second on team with 26 victories… had 15 wins by fall to set Lehigh first-year record… 15 falls are second-highest single-season total in program history… finished third at Sheridan Tournament and Mat Town Open II… competed at Midlands in late December… wrestled in three duals… made dual debut against Cornell’s Ethan Fernandez (1/13)… picked up first dual win against Bucknell’s Riley Bower (2/9)… named NWCA Scholar All-American… recipient of EIWA Academic Achievement Award.
